OK Being a very bad pirate: - but HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE! mAY YOU HAVE A VERY MAGICAL :wizard:

Eight o clock used to be the A&P coffee in the northeast. It isn't that bad. I for one hate Starbucks. It always tastes burnt. Even their decaf givesd me a reaction. JMO

I like Starbucks House and Verona blends (OK I drink way too much coffee). I buy the 3lb. bags of beans at Costco - same beans and roast as Starbucks House Blend, but no fancy label. Starbucks Label: $21.99 for 3 lbs. Costco Label: $8.99 of 3 lbs. Same coffee!

The one that people freak out over that I just don't get is Dunkin Donuts. Their coffee is vile. Way too acidic. DH tells me its because I drink it black, not "regular" which is Dunkin'-speak for light beige with 12 spoons of sugar.

Sorry i have to differ....You should see what the 14 yo's are doing around here. They "do" talk about boys and sex.... Maybe a 14 yo boy would be ok with 10 yo's but I've have to side with allowing DD to hang with the older ones. And i'd hate to have one of the 14 (or even 13 yo girls) have "womenly" issues and have to worry about silly little 10 yo's making fun of them... 10yo just aren't grown up.

And the lack of activities...Just look at the navigators from a recent 7 day. Quest group only has maybe one activity each night (nothing during the day)

Yeah ...I'm placing my cash (what's left of it) of the marauding packs of 13-14, and maybe just turned 15 yo's roaming the ship and hanging out in rooms and hallways because the doing bead crafts or waiting in line for the docking simulator that doesn't work half the time ain't going to keep them occupied.

I agree. I'll have a 10yo, almost 4th grader. I don't want him hanging out with 14yo high school kids! Heck, I don't necessarily want him hanging out with a bunch of other 10yos sometimes...you know the whole younger kids in the family know more stuff thing.

DD needs some answers for her Homework assignment. If anyone is interested inhelping???
place in order the importance of these inventions with 1 being the most important
toothbrush, car, microwave, cell phone, personal computer

Which invention(doesn't need to be on this list) is the most important to you and why?

She also needs your age and gender.
Thanks for those of you answering

toothbrush (without good hygiene, bacteria can grow causing cognitive problems resulting in the inability to produce new technologies & early death can result).

personal computer (info out there is invaluble. wish I had it as a kid)

cell phone (being able to stay in touch anywhere at anytime especially in emergency. can be over-used though.)

car (without it, we'd all be either living in the city or own huge farms to own & grow our own food & supplies).

microwave (it's great for popcorn, lean cuisines, & heating up food, but other than that, I don't really use it).

Most important invention to me: the television! Don't think I could stand to live without relaxing in front of the TV at night watching the news, HGTV, American Idol with the family, House, movies on demand, etc.

I'd like to copy off of Diane's paper.
Seriously, those are my answers too, she just saved me some typing.

Last post for a while. In just about seven hours, we'll be boarding a plane heading eastward to London and then on to Paris. $DEITY and British Airways willing, we'll be in Paris before the East Coast awakens tomorrow morning.

Try not to insult me too much while I am away.

Now why should things be any different just because you aren't here?? :)

Have a great trip J.R.!!!

1) What is your favorite flavor of ICE CREAM or substitute favorite DESSERT
Rocky road Ice cream, or Black forest Gateaux
2) If you could have any car as your own "FREE" to use for a year - what would it be?
James Bond Austin Martin
3) If you could visit any one place on the planet for 7 days - what destination would you choose. All expenses paid however, you cannot take any physical sou veneers back with you.
Australia, Sydney and Alice Springs
4-5-6) If you had Aladdin's lamp and 3 wishes... what would be your 3 wishes? The same limitations apply as in the Disney version - you can't raise the dead, you can't make someone love you, and you can't wish for more wishes.
1/ Win the top prize on the UK Lottery
2/ Good health for all my family
3/World peace and I am not in a bikini

7) Tell us something about yourself that you've never posted here before.

I have been in the same job for 30 years this year.
OK... before I turn in tonight I'll try to come back and reply to these 7 questions!

Toothbrush....I need teeth to eat with!!!
Cell phone......Me whithout a cell phone would be like me without talking!!
Microwave...........This is the only way I cook.
Personal Computer.............What would I do all day without one!!!
Car.........If I have the rest.....I don't need one.

Age....You know!!!

I have sent off an email to dcl.guest.communications@disneycruise.com
Asking if they have any plans on upping the current 10-12 yr old activities in the lab if the proposed change to Ocean Quest will actually take effect on May 10, 2008.

I think kids that are used to being in OQ in that age group will be very unhappy if they aren't allowed in there anymore and have to make due with the current activities that are in the lab. My DS 11 would be. DD will be 13 by the time we sail

Anyone not happy with the proposed change please email DCL to let them know your thoughts

.

I think I read somewhere that there is a separate navigator, just for the eligible Quest kids.

You could run up to Victoria, BC. They've got whale Watching & some cool museums, as well as gardens, tea at the Empress and good shopping.

Hey, come visit me, Monica. Trevoy can get to know DS as well. There is plenty to do up here. :goodvibes

FYI - Cruise ship season starts here on APR3, I think. Apparently, we're the hottest cruise ship center in Canada. A total of 211 ship visits, delivering 400,000 passengers on 25 different vessels are scheduled to dock this year.

I gotta have my Dunkins but then again I do drink it light beige with Splenda (which tastes like 12 spoons of sugar!) ;)

ITA too, because I don't want my 14 yo with 17 & 18 yos. She's just not that wordly yet & I'd like to keep it that way. :thumbsup2

I was in your fair city 2 years ago headed for Alaska. That was such a great memory! 31 of my closest family members together for a week going to an incredible destination. Ahhh...perfect!:cloud9:
A quick reflection if you will. I thought Alsaka had been too hyped- that there was no way it could live up to its expectations. Boy, was I wrong!
The 2nd morning I opened my eyes and truly could not believe what I saw out my balcony window. Just too pretty to describe.

Now, if DCL would go there- I would be on it!

EXTREMELY happy to report I get my stitches out tomorrow am.!!!
I am tired of not looking like "me". I have a swollen black eye, 31 stitches on 2 rows on my face, the BIGGEST bright red zit you have ever seen on my chin :scared1: (where the heck did that come from? :confused3 ), I am currently missing 1 toenail and I have been afraid to take a shower for 2 days. I honestly do not think I have looked worse in recent history. Thank God I work from home!!!!!
But the good news is I finally bought my diamond earrnigs!!! I am hoping they draw attention away from the train wreck on my face (yeah, right) :rotfl2:

I got this too but as soon as I read it I deleted it.

Tom I did and I still do intend on making tags for anyone who would like one!

Brendan and I got our passports today!

Chrissie

Kevin and I will gladly wear your tags! :flower3:

1) What is your favorite flavor of ICE CREAM or substitute favorite DESSERT

Chocolate Chip Mint

2) If you could have any car as your own "FREE" to use for a year - what would it be?

I would be happy with anything since I don't have one now. Something fun to drive but practical - maybe a Audi of some kind - but not a stick - the hills in SF would kill me!

3) If you could visit any one place on the planet for 7 days - what destination would you choose. All expenses paid however, you cannot take any physical souveneers back with you.

Hawaiian Islands - have not been there yet!

4-5-6) If you had Aladdin's lamp and 3 wishes... what would be your 3 wishes? The same limitations apply as in the Disney version - you can't raise the dead, you can't make someone love you, and you can't wish for more wishes.

1. Ability for people to have any job they really love to do and it will pay the bills.
2. A pause button for the rest of the world so I can use it to get caught up with everything I need to do.
3. More vacation time from work!

7) Tell us something about yourself that you've never posted here before.

I am an only child and only grandchild - No I do not act like a spoiled brat!

Opinions Please!

The lanyard tags...their background...Dis green or other color?

Chrissie

I vote for White background with Green Names and a cute pic. BTW - I really like this idea. We had them for the Med and it was great especailly for those senior moments when you forget people name you have been having a conversation with for the last 15 minutes.
