A little rain doesn't bother me, but if we get anything serious (like this winter), I'll drive & BART.

In other scooter news, I dropped the bike today in the driveway. She's a little dinged up (as am I), but basically OK. I figure if I have to drop her, that's the way to do it, but I still wish it hadn't happened.

Obviously back from surgery.
The 1st "scoop" they took apparantly got clean margins so we went off to the plastic surgeon. After much discussion about the best way to repair the crater on the side of my nose- they came up w/ creating a "flap" from my cheek instead of the skin graf. The residents thought a skin graf but the plastic surgeon said that was the worst thing to do in this circumstace. His explanation made no sense to me, so I just went with it.
I know have 31 stitches on my face and will require another surgery to do the 2nd part. Stitches come out already on Friday. That was earlier than I thought. The 2nd surgery will be in a few weeks. From what I understand it will be worse in the short run and better long term. Since I work from home, it allowed this method.
The weird/sad part is I was the youngest patient by 2 generations there yesterday. All of the companions were my Mom's age but they were there for their parents and my Mom was there for her daughter. He Dr. said I was the youngest patient he would have all week. Lucky me!
Anyway, at least that part is over and was not that bad. Even with 31 stitches I have not taken any pain pills.

Sorry you got dinged. My scooter is light enough that i can hold on to it pretty much. (it's still heavy but manageable) Now my husbands seems a lot heavier then mine. I can't even imagine being able to hang on to a falling/tipping larger bike.

1. Check cheat sheet
2. Call you by your DIS screen name
3. Stare blankly as I think "name... name.... darn it, why can't I remember names"

I don't think you'll be alone as I too get mixed up on these matters too...

Who sneezed on their computer? Was it your M or Roger or maybe Crash. It seems I finally caught whatever it is that is going around. My grandson was sick last week and DH was sick this weekend, so Easter Sunday it was my turn. I am finally feeling a little better this afternoon. Hope the rest of you are getting better. And Coral glad to hear things went well with you.

I have never been good with names either. So I just smile and nod.

HA! I thought the same thing!! My plan is to print out color pictures of the pirates from the site and starting a few months ahead, every time someone posts I am going to look at their picture. Then I am going to write something specific they wrote so I know something to say when I meet them.

Hey need to ask something- can't find the info anywhere so far- which airport is the one that is closest to disneyland? LMK please!

Even though we're PIF and I'm beginning to post here, it still hasn't sunk in that we're actually going on this TOAL. Perhaps once we get past the first date where we can't backout without penalty. I know it will have finally sunk in when I start having crazy OCP dreams about it.

What is PIF?

One more vote for name tags! I'm terrible with names, but it I see it written down - then I'm way, way better remembering them. Does that make me a visual learner?

We already waited long enough for us- considering we thought there might be "issues". (we have some "issues" that might arise that are easily fixable but might take some "time" so we gotta send off now and see what might be needed and need time to do that. Atleast the issue of my name was easy- turns out they just typed it wrong in 1996 so I only had to get another copy since they did have my first name correct in their records! just not on my copy from 1996)
You better get a move on though- just in case!

How ya doin'? Hope the "bugs" are getting evicted from your household. I can attest to the difficulty in shaking this seasons' influenza as well as the other illnesses circulating. And as many of already know - this years bugs are TOUGH and NO FUN at all!

John Wayne ... or SNA (Santa Ana) is closest... next is Long Beach, followed by LAX then either Burbank or Ontario. If you're looking for air fares, Santa Ana or LAX will have the most flights to choose from ... and Long Beach is only seerved by Jet Blue (I think...) ... and Burbank is a decent airport but pretty far... and I think the traffic from equally distant Ontario would be a terror if you were driving anytime near traffic hours. I would recommend you start with the cheapest direct flights you can find - then settle the better flight departure and arrival times for a final purchase.

From everything I read (having no real practical experience), the higher up you are, the more you will feel the swells, so if we do have rough seas, you will have the smoothest ride (although you might hear it more) as long as you don't open your window!
