Hi everyone! Glad Monday is over...

Wanted to share...
My Uncle came to visit yesterday (only reason that is huge because since my Aunt passed away last May he has bee MIA for family events) He brought with him paintings that my Aunt was working on right before she died. They are unfinished,he asked me to complete them.I am so honored-yet so nervous that I won't do them (or mostly my Aunt) justice.

Wanted to share my view on kids missing school.
I am a teacher. In this world when so many families have so much on their schedules missing a few days (or more) to have family time and create memories is better than the classroom. What you learn from your family and seeing the world (I feel) has a greater impact on you as a person.
My parents took me out of school on numerous occasions (I was a good student and they knew I could handle it) and the memories I have from the trips I still treasure today.I know many teachers/faculty can be cranky about it. (They are also the ones who complain that parents don't have/make time for their kids!) -Again just my opinion.

I also want to send out happy thoughts to those who aren't feeling quite their best!

Chrissie

Chrissie I am sure that you will do your aunt proud with the pictures. I was thinking of you today when I was reading about a new contest Win a dream honeymoon at the Walt Disney World® Resort from Funjet Vacations. You do so well at these I figure that you could win pretty easily.

Esteri, when I had cats that had the black and white tuxedo markings I always named them sneaker names...Puma, Nike, Reebok:confused3

Not Disney, but maybe it will spark some ideas:confused3

Keeping her out of trouble wouldn't be bad... Kids are expensive, but totally worth it. My SIL's Brother just made it into Stanford on a Fencing Scholarship - not bad for a local kid.

When I was credentialing athletes for the Olympic Track and Field qualifying event four years ago I got this advice...

Hammer

No one throws it. It requires the least amount of athletic ability of all the track and field events. And every school is desperate to find one. Of course, finding a coach is the tricky part.

MMM:rolleyes: You'd have to be tall though, right:confused3

:rotfl: :rotfl: Perfect. What's his call name? "Kona"?
.

Natch, and he's exactly the shade of red dirt in Hawaii :goodvibes

Somehow, I can't see my little girly-girl going for that. She's big into performing arts right now. Maybe she'll be the next American Idol.

Dunno. Didn't credential a Hammer Thrower. Got that advice from a Pole Vaulter - or maybe it was a Sprinter.

Funny thing was, after a while, we got pretty good at guessing their event from looking at them.

New episode of House on tonight:woohoo:

OK, the Seven Dwarves....

Graenit's All Fed Up "Grumpy"
Graenit's Gazhuntite "Sneezy" (that one's no good - too hard to spell)
Graenit's In Charge "Doc"
Graenit's Nap Time "Sleepy"
Graenit's Goof Off "Dopey"
Graenit's Chucklin' Fool "Happy"
Graenit's Shy and Retiring "Bashful"

Hum... Those aren't very good.

Let's see, if we do POC, we get...

Graenit's Capt'n Jack Sparrow "Jack" or "Jonny" (ho-hum)
Graenit's Black Pearl call name???
Graenit's Flying Dutchman call name??? Dutch? Dutchie?
Graenit's Davey Jones "Davey" (ho-hum)

Need some girl names...

Graenit's Sea Queen "Calypso" <-- hey, I like that one
Graenit's Pieces of Eight "Doubloon" (unisex name)

Hum... what else?

Graenit's Pirate Guideline "Parlay"

Our first dog was a black lab/springer spaniel born on Pearl Harbor Day. OK not THE Pearl Harbor Day, the anniversary. Anyway, we almost had an all-black dog named Pearl. Although Tora Tora Tora was also interesting.

:thumbsup2 Parlay is good. I like Tora Tora Tora.

Actually, you could use Black Pearl for a female. Flying Dutchman too - since ships are supposed to be females. Still don't know what you'd call them though.

Graenit's Green Flash "Flash" or "Sparky" might work
Graenit's Found a Peanut "Peanut" - hum, doesn't pass the Yell Test.
Graenit's Jar of Dirt "Sandy"? :rotfl2:
.

Say...

"Kraken" is a great call name. Now we just need the registerd name to go with it...

Graenit's Loose the Kraken... nah
Graenit's Sea Monster... better

Just looking at the summer Mexican cruises. For the four of us it is now the same price as what we are paying for 15 days. :thumbsup2

DH and I were pricing different cruises on our last Wonder trip and were shocked at the difference between a week in the beginning of December and a week in April. Twice as much for Spring break:scared1: . We figured we'd rather take them out of school in December:sad2:
Of course, then the repo came up and we transfered the ressie:woohoo:

Have we decided on when we are having our PJ breakfast yet? Maybe one of the two sea days from Acapulco to the canal. :confused3 We should be done with time changes by then.

We had a reservation for last Spring break and canceled. It would have been more than the repo. :confused3 Wound up doing WDW/Wonder for a couple $1000 less in summer.
