:rotfl2: :rotfl2: You are cracking me up!! Thanks for the laughs and good luck!

The cortison has kicked in and at least I am moving around on it. I am starting a new fashion trend though, a lovely BIG BLACK BOOT on one foot and a nice Aasics riunning show on the other - school kids will love it!

Aww and i thought my dd started that trend last summer....

(actually every one gets one of those boots lately) It does get you to the front of the line for SWA. ;)

Glad to see you feel a little better. (and actually 1st dr was half right; on some ankle injuries they're saying that walking on it earlier helps. Just don't try that marathon just yet.)

And cortisone... OMG i love that stuff. Worked great on the tendinitus i had in my wrist in January.

OK, back from Singapore. They boys passports will be mailed on Friday. I opted to not go back this afternoon to pick them up. The "Will Call" line was out the door, plus the whole strip search thing. Even the supervisor I talked to basically said "that was stupid" only in not so many words.

Crisis solved. Yay!

Did ya give up the one from the "butt" holster.....? (ala "Elizabeth style")
Obviously they have heard of the well protected sword.:lmao:

I can't multi-quote on my crackberry for some reason - both of those deserved a :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: You are cracking me up!! Thanks for the laughs and good luck!

Update on my ankle....................tendonitis and 3 weeks of physical therapy says the orpthopeadic. This guys actually knew what he was doing AND he really examined my ankle. The cortison has kicked in and at least I am moving around on it. I am starting a new fashion trend though, a lovely BIG BLACK BOOT on one foot and a nice Aasics riunning show on the other - school kids will love it! Start PT tomorrow and go back to work on Wednesday - I actually miss my kids at school and I know they will be happy to have me back in the classroom. Thanks for all the wonderful wishes from everyone, you guys are sure a great bunch. Can't wait to meet you in August - Oh yeah, did I tell you we are paid in full????

Sounds like a not-so-bad ending to a medical annoyance. Get well soon :flower3:

They made silencers. And the school "resource officer" is a City of Scottsdale police officer. She took them to impound and we're told they're going to be "disposed of" properly.
No one told us or the science teacher that it's illegal to make them w/o some kind of government permit. Oops.
But they did earn a gold ribbon at the school's science fair and are now entered in the city science fair.

DH told them to make a still next year. Troublemaker. :stir:

  Tell Jared congrats on the gold ribbon and good luck on the next level:banana:

Right about now Diane should be really happy that my weapons were confiscated.

My parents are on yet another cruise and I stupidly offered to keep their dog while they were gone. :sad2:
Very, very sweet dog but he is blind and very old. This means that he runs into everything and he has to go outside every 2 hours- 24 hours a day!!! :scared1: It has only been 2 days and I am already in a coma.
We put much thought in the best place to put him but my house is a landmine. I have no clue how I am going to be able to cope when I start working tomorrow. My Mom swore he would just sleep all day in his bed- ha! Lie #1
Secondly she said he does not make any noise at night. Lie # 2. I realized there was a reason they started keeping him in their pantry- all the way across the house lately.
Next Sunday seems very far away.
I cannot imagine what I am going to do next year when they go on their "cruise around the world" for 4 months. I am sure I will end up in the funny farm.
God love this dog. He is a dachsand and I think around 15. They adopted him from a neighbor that could not afford to give him proper care 5 years ago.
He is blind due to a stroke so unfortunately there is not a surgery or medicine to help him.

Good luck Coral, hopefully he will get used to your house and settle down a bit for you.

Help me girls! What would you think if I had my dress cut down to more of a column/straight skirt? I have to bring it in for alterations anyway and I thought I'd play with the photo to see what it would look like. Doesn't look so much like a prom dress.

Debi that is an idea, but I liked the fullser skirt on it too.:)
Having roller coaster fevers with my daughter - an hour ago it was 101.5-101.9 --- now it's 100-99.5. Plus she has sniffles but otherwise shes' in good spirits. I wonder whether this is the end of it or.... not?

Hopefully this is the end and your DD gets to feeling all better.:goodvibes

We had been waiting on about a dozen familes who were considering joining us - so we tried to line up houses to rent or were considering the condo complex as that still had several units available to rent at this late stage. However, it seems a majority of families have withdrawn and the last couple remaining families onthe fence are still on the fence. SO we decided to committ for what was best just for us at this last minute .. well ... with 3 weeks to go it's the last minute in my opinion.

I don't blame you for going on and making your own plans. Sometimes it is so difficult :headache: to plan large outings. The pictures of the landscape are beautiful. We hope to venture out west in '09.:)

Hi Everyone!

It looks like I am back from the land of the flu-infested :thumbsup2 I am finally feeling pretty much normal - just a little bit of a cough left. Of course, now I am trying to catch up with all the stuff that didn't get done last week.

In catching up with my email, I found out that I am very, very jealous of our British friends! I've probably mentioned before that my favorite author is Terry Pratchett. Well, the BBC is going to have a show on Wednesday featuring Terry talking about Fantasy and pop culture (the show is called Through the Looking Glass) AND on Easter Sunday and Monday there will be a film adaptation of The Colour of Magic on Sky. We'll probably never see the 1st show over here and if I am very lucky, the film might come out on DVD here in a year or two :sad2: Being a Terry Pratchett fan in the USA has become a little easier over the years - at least the books get published here now - but it is still pretty frustrating!

Of course, this probably sounds like total babble to most folks - Usually when I start talking about Pratchett, the response is "Who????". But hey, with all the Dr. Who talk, a little Terry Pratchett isn't too far out there! :rotfl2:

Coral, i have some thoughts. (because the subject of dogs with limited eyesight came up in a PRK discussion at my dog club meeting on Saturday.)

Your mom's dog is probably fine in his home surroundings (or more fine). Dogs with no sight get used to the surroundings by familiarity and by sounds and stuff. Coming into your house it's no wonder he would bump into stuff and he probably wants out because he is scared or wants to go "home." Is it possible for you to pen off an area or room for him? (maybe get or borrow a doggie xpen or childs playyard fence.) Don't change or move things around alot while he's there(i know alot to ask since you have children) and he should be better in a couple days. He may even feel better if he knows someone is around or talking to him. (maybe even a tv on at night or at least a radio.)

Thanks for the hints. He seems to be very fond of his pillow bed on the couch when I wrap him all up. As soon as he goes down I quick make a few client calls until he wakes up 2 hours later.
My neighbors DH is wanting a 4th :scared1: child and I offered to let Boris stay for the week so he can get that nonsense out of the way. Problem is the kids are always his wifes problem. :sad2:
He is so sweet that is makes it much easier to be patient with him. ETA: That would be Boris and not chauvanistic neighbor
I will try to look for the "pen".

M- Glad that passport problem appears to be solved. I just hope it really is solved now. You are very lucky you live so close to a passport office. (Another point for Washington DC? ;) )

M, WAKE up already! You're grumpin' on another beautiful day in paradise!

I woke up this morning early at 5am - my older daughter had a fever again (102-103.5). She also had to go potty too... so after dosing her with med again, using a damp cloth on her forehead and neck the temps dropped to 101 and I fell back asleep. Then at 8:45 we all awoke again and she now had a normal temperature! I believe this is the first dual 98.6 temp reading (both ears - steady over several readings) I've had since last thursday! However, since she did have a fever at 5AM I'll not send her into school.

I'm glad it was solved too, but no points awarded. There is a passport office in Anchorage. ;)

In fact, DC lost several points today:

The Washington area's drinking water contains trace amounts of six commonly used drugs that typically turn up in wastewater and cannot be filtered out by most treatment systems.

The pharmaceuticals -- an anti-seizure medication, two anti-inflammatory drugs, two kinds of antibiotics and a common disinfectant -- were found in very small concentrations in the water supply that serves more than 1 million people in the District, Arlington County, Falls Church and parts of Fairfax County. But scientists say the health effects of long-term exposure to such drugs are not known.

So does the disinfectant I'm ingesting cancel out the other stuff?

That's how I felt this morning!

I'm glad the princess seems to be on the mend.

After the nightmares you have gone through with your passports already, I hope everything today goes smooth! Crossing my fingers for you!

Probably a good time to suggest that everyone who hasn't yet applied for a passport start working on it, see the problems you can run into....

especially if your kids have imaginary but official passports already

or you're in the mood for a good strip search

.

I wonder if I should wear it in July when we fly Skybus to Ohio? Maybe that will let me and my family board first - may have to take it along! On second thought, I really want nothing to do with it if I am healthy and able to walk. Its really heavy, hot and UGLY. Just glad its not 80 degrees outside right now or I would be a roasted chicken leg!
