They run the darn A/C even tho it was in the 60s . It's funny to see everyone bundled up with their hoodies up wrapped in blankets.

NOT ME!!!!!!!!!! (probably not M either) Whoever thought getting up before the sun was a good idea should be shot..... (oh wait it was Bush that approved moving it up two weeks earlier)

My parents are on yet another cruise and I stupidly offered to keep their dog while they were gone.
Very, very sweet dog but he is blind and very old. This means that he runs into everything and he has to go outside every 2 hours- 24 hours a day!!! It has only been 2 days and I am already in a coma.
We put much thought in the best place to put him but my house is a landmine. I have no clue how I am going to be able to cope when I start working tomorrow. My Mom swore he would just sleep all day in his bed- ha! Lie #1
Secondly she said he does not make any noise at night. Lie # 2. I realized there was a reason they started keeping him in their pantry- all the way across the house lately.
Next Sunday seems very far away.
I cannot imagine what I am going to do next year when they go on their "cruise around the world" for 4 months. I am sure I will end up in the funny farm.
God love this dog. He is a dachsand and I think around 15. They adopted him from a neighbor that could not afford to give him proper care 5 years ago.
He is blind due to a stroke so unfortunately there is not a surgery or medicine to help him.

Coral, i have some thoughts. (because the subject of dogs with limited eyesight came up in a PRK discussion at my dog club meeting on Saturday.)

Your mom's dog is probably fine in his home surroundings (or more fine). Dogs with no sight get used to the surroundings by familiarity and by sounds and stuff. Coming into your house it's no wonder he would bump into stuff and he probably wants out because he is scared or wants to go "home." Is it possible for you to pen off an area or room for him? (maybe get or borrow a doggie xpen or childs playyard fence.) Don't change or move things around alot while he's there(i know alot to ask since you have children) and he should be better in a couple days. He may even feel better if he knows someone is around or talking to him. (maybe even a tv on at night or at least a radio.)

The only thing I miss while on vacation is my Wawa Coffee.

Well, I am always up before the dawn, so it doesn't bother me. SWMBO was very upset because the change occured on March 9, which is her birthday, so she lost an hour of her birthday.

I realized last week that we get to live through it twice this year since we will be in Europe at the end of the month when they change their clocks forward. My Mickey Mouse watch is going to be so confused...

First i have to live through a 3 hr time difference to get to west coast for three days...

Then i get my time back but slowly over 2 weeks...

At least i stay in the same time zone on the way home from FL.

Today is my DGM's b-day. The 12th is my mom's b-day. More curious though is that the 12th also is my DMIL's b-day. Different birth years but still spooky when you think about the odds.

At any rate, I just checked my daughters' temperature and she measures perfectly normal! Also her skin temps seem normal too. WoooHooo! Maybe if this is true in the morning then her weekend illness is at an end!!!!

Update on my ankle....................tendonitis and 3 weeks of physical therapy says the orpthopeadic. This guys actually knew what he was doing AND he really examined my ankle. The cortison has kicked in and at least I am moving around on it. I am starting a new fashion trend though, a lovely BIG BLACK BOOT on one foot and a nice Aasics riunning show on the other - school kids will love it! Start PT tomorrow and go back to work on Wednesday - I actually miss my kids at school and I know they will be happy to have me back in the classroom. Thanks for all the wonderful wishes from everyone, you guys are sure a great bunch. Can't wait to meet you in August - Oh yeah, did I tell you we are paid in full????

That's "good" news about your ankle. I've had to do the boot before although my favorite was wearing a suit with a dress shoe on one foot and a brown sandle on the other as it was the only shoe that would fit.

Your previous doctor was fairly hasty with the first diagnosis given it took mine about four visits over a few years before realizing it was gout.
