We walked over to Medano while we were waiting for our catamaran last time. It was a long, wide beach, looked to be really clean...and the vendors were just setting up. They had the usual souvenirs for sale, but also chairs, umbrellas, kayaks, floats, etc for rent.
:thumbsup2

In 2005, we just set up fairly early in the morning at the Office. For the price of some beer & nachos, we got to sit in the beach chairs all day with umbrellas. There were vendors for para sailing and jet skis a little further down, but they kept most of the really pushy vendors clear of their area of sand.

We took a water taxi back to the pier when we were ready to go back. Very easy & convenient.

Thanks Stacey and Sara. :thumbsup2 I knew there would be pirate: s out there that had been there. Here is the link to the The Office Restaurant on the beach. Another one I see on the map is the Mango Deck

"The Office"??

horribly busy week.
On the good news front, my brother gave me a laptop. How cool is that? :cool1:
gonna ketchup.

I just renewed our membership and got our tickets for April 26th at 1:00PM. We'll probably get there earlier that day. Can't wait to meet everyone there. Thanks again for organizing things Lisa!

my kids are excited for this. We have 1:00 tickets

I've had to catch tarantulas and giant black sand scorpions and put them in jars for the kids to take to school.
:crazy2: :crazy2:
My husband says "kill it yourself" if I see an icky thing in the house. I guess it's good that he does that, since he isn't always home when they appear.

regular spiders I can do. Tarantulas? no way ! :scared1:

Peculiar vanity plate sighting.......MOO FREE

What do you think....Vegan, lactose intolerant or pro-pleather?

Can't wait for March 4th. I am ready for our Primary Elections to be overwith! I think Hillary is stalking us. We have gotten like 8 phone calls from her in the past couple of weeks. I think she keeps calling back because we are hanging up on her. When will she take the hint? Hill, we are just not that into you.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Just had to share my parental pride with you all. Lauren was in the school gymnastics competition today & won 2 golds & 1 bronze, competing with girls from her year and the year above at school:thumbsup2 . Unfortunately she can't go on to represent the school next week as she has been selected to join the aerobics squad which is considered competitive gymnastics, so makes in ineligible!:confused3
Celestine

WOW:goodvibes Congrats:cheer2: :cheer2: What were the medals in? I always loved to watch the balance beam.

I'm "Mommy" to three dogs, I still think this should qualify me. I promise I'll behave! (most of the time)
Yup, works for me;)

LOL. Not for me. I see it going all the way to the end now.

Sorry, didn't mean to start such a controversy about it. Just made an observation. Sounds like everyone sees it a little bit differently.
Now Andrew's posts are long for me too:lmao: They were just like everyone else's before:confused3 Not complaining Andrew:hug: Just observing too;)

They really didn't take up that much room. I just love mine!

Thanks:goodvibes I think I will order the package with the robes. They'll be nice on such a long trip :thumbsup2

I bought the Staples one today that someone (I forget who, I'm sorry) had posted was on sale . . . now to fill it up on the way to the ship . . .:thumbsup2
I never thought I would need a rolling cooler on this trip:confused3 The only one drinking alcohol in my family is me and I have a very low tolerance so no more than 2 a night:rolleyes: Plus I mostly like toblerone martini and strawberry colada (not something I'll make in my room). We'll bring water on board most likely, but are you planning on taking the cooler into the ports ? I've never been on a cruise this long, not sure how to plan:confused3

My vote's for that one! :thumbsup2 Do I hear any seconds?
:thumbsup2

Hi Sara:yay: I've heard the Office is a great place for lunch. Hopefully we'll get a chance to find out:woohoo:

Nice Bro:thumbsup2

So, a few threads on the main cruise board have me thinking about something I'm sort of afraid to ask...but I'll go ahead and do it since we all seem to be able to respect one another's opinions and I'm pretty sure we can have a conversation without anyone being called a good or bad parent & if the discussion takes a turn, we can leave it here on this thread that is about to be shut down anyway...here goes...

We have about a million pirate kids between 8 & 12, so I ask parents - what are your thoughts on sign out privileges for your tweens?

This is the first time the monkeys have been close to an age that we can even think about it.

I'm thinking about letting DS10 have sign out privileges. I think it's going to depend on who he decides to hang with. Although I really like knowing where he is.

Hi everyone!

I've been using my little bit of free time on the PC in the evening for a couple other projects rather than DISing. Someone from the DISigns forum asked me to do a group of designs for her. I used to do a lot of these, but since this thread started I really don't hang out over there anymore. Mostly I do variations on the same general idea - person's name with characters all around it. The original idea started with someone else, but when she was overwhelmed with requests a few others stepped in to help out. I sort of have my own "style" for these and every so often someone finds me and asks for some. I enjoy doing them, but they eat up time. (If anyone is curious, you can see them at http://s14.photobucket.com/albums/a301/pdarrah/T-Shirt Designs/ )

Pamela

WOW:worship:
These designs are wonderful:thumbsup2
When you find yourself with some time maybe I can put in a special request for one (or two) for a door sign:rolleyes1

Hello!

I was asking some questions on the main disney cruise board thread and they refrered me to this thread.

I was just wondering if you all wouldn't mind helping me out with some questions my party and I have as time goes on?? It would be a huge help!

You all seem like a nice friendly bunch and I certainly wouldn't want to intreupt any of your discussion!

A little background about myself:

I'll be 28 this 2/29, yes a leap year baby. My wife and I will be on this cruise along with her entire immeadiate family and some of their friends as well. I may be new to these boards, but not to many others on the net. I regret not coming to this site earlier.

We are Disney nuts! I've been a DVC member since my junior year of college when I jumped in with pretty much my life savings! (just to give you an idea of how much we love all things mouse.)

We love to cruise, however, this is the first time we will be on a Disney ship. Which is basically why I'm seeking help from any past cruisers or those who have already made their plans.

Sorry for the interuption, and I thank you so much for any help.

Thanks!

no way are you interupting. It's all good. Jump in baby.

No. I will never eat broccoli. If aliens came down and said, eat this sprig or broccoli and we won't destroy your planet, I would say "Sorry, Earth". I can't stand the taste or the smell of the stuff.

Cute J. R. My dad feels the same way about brussel sprouts, but his parents used to make him eat them. If he ever writes his autobiography he plans to call it I Never Chewed a Brussel Sprout since he swallowed them whole.

:yay: :yay: :yay: YAY!

The Catamaran tour looks fun, but not sure DH would go for that. I'll have to see what he thinks. We are most likely going to just hit the beach & El Medano beach looks good since it has a Catina to grab some nachos & margaritas. Cabo might be the one place we do on our own, because with the DCL excursion, they only drop you off for 2 hours.

So here is a margarita question: Aren't we supposed to not drink water in Mexico? And aren't margaritas mostly ice? And isn't ice just water, cold, and time?? How does this work?

Now I prefer my 'ritas on the rocks as opposed to slushy, but still ice is involved.

Mango deck has happy hour from 8 am to 6 pm!

That's my kind of happy hour(s)!

My brother hate brussel sprouts too. He used to call them little brains.

I was wondering about this myself. Seems a little like playing russian roulette:rolleyes1

I love other MAC people .....:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
pirate:

I learned computers as a kid on a Lisa (does anyone even remember those? they were huge?). . . I can do PCs but I have always chosen Macs . . . and don't even get me started on my beloved iPod . . .

Everyone make sure you mark the Staples one, as I bought one Friday night too (after Kristina gave us link).

Cheryl, mine came Tuesday....

Mine is coming tomorrow . . . if you have better stuff in yours than mine, I just might "accidentally" switch . . .

Rather wide monorail there.....

I was trying to think of how to put it . . .:rotfl:

Has anyone here set up group tastings on DCL before? Wine, beer, martini, tequila, etc.?

Monica (got2travel) said that she would look into it since she was on a cruise where they were able to set them up privately . . . unless things have gotten too crazy, that is . . .

I would never take one out to the ports . . . just too bulky . . . I will just use mine to get beverages onto the ship . . . you could use it for bottled water and save money as well . . .

!

The large quantity of alcohol kills the germs . . . that's my story and I'm sticking to it . . .;)

Ice/water from established restaurants and hotels is fine. It's the mom and pop places and street vendors that you have to watch out for.
