I was thinking about this, too. We'd done the dessert buffet on the balcony for Fantasmic a couple of times and I don't think I could get used to the way they've changed it.
Doing this for EP sounds like fun. Just not sure I want to spend the $$ for all 3 of us.

Here's the write up that someone posted. It's the description they got from Vacation Planning. Sounds fantastic. I agree with you on the cost. I really have issue with the kids price being cut off at 9. I know that's Disney's policy, but with this one, 10+ yr olds can't have wine, so there should be some break there.

Hmmm. Just drove past Robert Mondavi winery today. I could grab my own bottle, put some wine in a travel mug, wrap up some cheese in foil, bring a baggie of grapes, and pop a squat along the parade route. :lmao:

Oh for crying in a bucket!! Go away!!!! This is MY SPACE. :lmao:
You kids have your My Space.

No Xena on the cruise....they don't have soup ladles.

I'm sure any of our wonderful servers would get one from the kitchen if we ask.... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

The Xena impression requires 2 soup ladles. Just a heads up! It will probably take at least 2 margaritas, to get her to do it. She's a lightweight.

Just got back from an awards ceremony hosted by the local Masonic lodge. DD won an essay about George Washington & apparently old George was a Mason and is now quite revered by the modern day Masons. All the winners and their parents were invited to a sit-down dinner and each student had a chance to read their essays to the audience. There were a total of 4 winners out of 74 entries from the 8th grade class. DD won a $50 savings bond, $25 gift card to Staples, $10 certificate to a local sub shop, free tickets to a magic show, an invitation for the family to attend a Masonic pancake breakfast and she even won a door prize of a Foose ball table! :cool1:

It was a fun evening and everyone was really friendly and welcoming, but those Masons sure like to make a lot of toasts! I never sat down & stood up so much at a dinner before in my life! :confused3

Diane, your daughter must have been a smile tonight! CONGRATS!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Please don't encourage my daughter.

And daughter.....don't you have a wedding to plan, or decorations to make....or something???

I'm totally with you on the (over)pricing.

We've always gotten pretty lucky with our seating at EP. And we've not had to sit on the curb for too long. I still just can't see paying that much.

Congrats to your DD!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Well, I got Bridezilla's ....I mean lovely oldest DD...things all booked for the June cruise. Relatively painless at the 105 day mark. They have the Romance Package so their booking time was open. I can't book mine til March 10th...but I was able to add myself to their brunch ressie and High Tea. I was kind enough to not add myself to their romantic honeymoon dinner at Palo. ;)

Even though our resevations are linked, and when I prepare to book something for her, it asks if I wanted to add myself and the rest of the party, but then it also said "this reservation (mine) not open for booking"....drats. That's the first time I've tried to do that, so I didn't know if it would let me do it or not. Now I know.

But I only need to book two excursions, so I doubt I'll have too much trouble at the 90 day mark. I didn't want to do dinner at Palo...just Brunch...and I got that...so I'm good!

HI Everyone...
remember me? LOL

Okay I'm kinda in panic mode here.
Have I missed anything important yet? like when can we start booking stuff? (as castaway club members/etc.) Are buses already filled up? what about us! LOL ahhhhhh
I have been getting stuff for the kids exchange thing- and now I don't even know if we're on it or not! guess I can give this stuff to my own kids if I have to... LOL

I'm also panicking because I'm not sure how we're going to manage this cruise now. :( I mean things were bad enough with new house and DH not getting overtime almost the ENTIRE year last year (which cuts our income in half btw and that's never happened in all the years he's worked there! figures huh?) -but then they also changed the vacation rules for him. He used to be able to take the vacation pay whenever he wanted- then take off for his vacation and just not get paid during that time- which works perfectly for paying way ahead for vacations right? well now they will only do either/or. If he takes the vacation pay now to pay for the vacation- he can't have the time off later to actually GO on the vacation- he's just being "paid off" for the vacation.
But if he waits and gets the vacation pay when he actually takes the vacation- that means we don't have the vacation pay to PAY for the vacation months in advance! ahhhhhh
I'm not sure what we're going to do.. and he's proposing we just go without him and I really don't want to do that. It's as much his vacation as ours plus he's the one working to pay for it! KWIM? LOL wouldn't seem right to run off for a few weeks on a cruise while he's home still working. that wouldn't be cool IMO

so I'm not sure what we're going to do but we've been waiting on this cruise for so long I am LOATHE to just bowing out of the cruise. we haven't vacationed anywhere this entire time-and if we don't go on this cruise we waited all that time for what? nothing! We gotta figure out something, even if we have to put some on a credit card which I said I'd never do... but never say never, right? LOL

How is everyone? didya miss me? LOL

ps what happened? can't have long threads anymore? so do the old ones get deleted or archived or what? I mean how does having several smaller threads help the board in anyway? I don't get it. LOL

The Xena thing, is Priceless. I should get it on video sometime.

:scratchin

Oh for crying in a bucket!! Go away!!!! This is MY SPACE. :lmao:
You kids have your My Space.

Double :scratchin

I used to love you. Til you started spilling all my secrets!

:lmao: Darn thos mods - they moved my smiley again.

Um Todd, make sure you bring avideo camera please - we all want to see

Stace/Megan - that is just wrong - to dangle that carrot like that.

Somehow the soup ladles gives me an impression of Princess Leia! Not very imaginative............:scared1: ......:faint: never mind - I just got it! Right image - wrong location!

:rotfl2:

How is everyone? didya miss me? LOL

Hey BIP! Glad to see you online. I'm sorry your having such a rough time of it. Yeah things have certainly changed around here.

The boards are cut off at about page 250. We are still waiting on our original thread to return in some read only mode.

Not sure when the last time you were on as I did a disappearing act for about 6 months too. However, the friendly banter continues and we are much more subdued. If you haven't had a chance to visit the website - I suggest you visit - might get some faster info there.

I hope you don't cancel - many people have cancelled and we are not allowing anymore cancellations.

I learned a long time ago never to say never. It would just give me more egg on my face. If the cruise means so much to you - do what you have to do to get there. You don't want to regret this with a what if.....

Anyway, we are all here if you need to talk......take care and keep us informed.

dear pbager......:rose: .

..with great interest, i read your response. it has become my
feeling,..that no life..is a waste of time. ever. no matter the
how short the timeline is... & that there are
"dynamics" ..way beyond our meager understandings.

..lately...my strongest feeling...about gaining value/s thru life..
is~ simple awarness...leading to greater apprication...on what
can easily be missed, misunderstood and/or taken for granted.

recycle...is only a new concept to us..but has ..been around on
earth...for ages. therefore, any life, touching= connecting to
another...goes on..in mind & spirit.

on my side of the fence, i have loss alot of memories that depended
on what otehrs told me. and then there are those...that are no
longer...living but are very, very dear.

yes, i think your observation.."we are still losing way too many newborns",
is accurate. :sad1: . we - [ the staff ], were discussing...my work
related experiences.., and rightly so, they added its been 30 years. [ a
significant amount of time]...however, * not completely..cos our kids
were born..in the early/late 80's/ and lat 90's. what good is our fancy
monitors...when they are not there/or asleep {don't understand}..
the warning signs? ..with jordan..i "howled"...so she got immediately
reactions..& there you go..how sad..even if one lil'one..is deny
life...becos others..we pay $$$, was..not paying attention? sadly,
there have been alot more..lost. sometimes, there are worst things..
then dying..."damaging the brain". "we"..have been on both side of
the fence....blessings & great sadness.

..however, we have come a very long..way..in a short period of time.
back to the 1940's...& my family first born..never made it out
of the delivery room. A prefect baby...that required respiratory
support. my fahter talked how "hard"..the doctor "worked" to save
his life. curiously, i asked my father what he did? without even
questioning..."he dunked him first in warm water than cold".

its hard to believe, but the intensive care treatements/rooms,
were not around...until..the late 60's.

....though...no longer living..the nurses/doctors...i had the privileged
learning/working with..were developing..today...standards. we
can simple do better..by using them. & that no much to ask..or
hope for. education..is much like building the foundation and the
framing..however, without the nurse mentors'..there are no skills
for the knowledge application.[ i know this from those giving me
every single insight i practiced today.]. it's so :sad1: depressing,
knowing..so much "great" knowledge..is not being used..cos of
a system...protecting...their selfish interests. { blood $$$, by
my opinion].

not only life preserving but as easy..as pie...that is also the frustration,
of those ..doing the work...that knows better.

* tell me?....what do you think?..we have admins..allowing
nursing home candiates..be placed..in our ward..acute pysch>/
think its abuse?..or permitting clients admissions..without the staffing
available...forcing staff..to work over and over. how good can care
be..if the staff...is facing dangerous clients...& totally exhausted.
the same people...then will turned around..and scape goat..staff
giving. or how would like to be a young graduate..."told"..you have
...to do the life/death doctoring....in an intensive care unit..cos
the covering..dr. , has no icu knowledge..& i mean zero? where's
the real abuse is occuring? back to the future, ..

....some miscarriages..are nature way. i believe that, some
life systems..,while well-desigend...can be adverse-effected,
by alot of factors..like genetics. while there are too many...
miscarriages.....that could/should have been prevented.

a long time ago..in 2 separate incidents, there were 2 lil ' miracles
that...will always..stay with me. both were boys. however, in
medical circles..it is true..if a delivery...running into diffculties..
the staff..is hoping...for a girl...due to their abilties to over come
& survive.

* what raised the diffculties..levels..was the rn assigned to us..
was a nursery nurse..with very lil'ob experience. :faint: & it
got worst...from that. any ob nurses?...another...factor....was
missing his date..* he was in the "oven"..almost..a month over..
[ after 40 weeks..the life support systems..begin to deteriorate
...& we were in their "birthing" room...when we needed a c-section
and no doctors...in the hospital...with a baby head..way too
big...for his own good....:scared: , ..all i could do...was whispered...
to my wife, honey-we're in alot of trouble..& its all up to you. god
bless!..my lil'miracle worker...pixiedust: , so any dcl she desires, i am
happy to give. to me, she is the best.

however, iam  ...for the other losses..

Good morning have a very good Sunday.

Have a relaxing day.

News from the UK.

Today Sir Richard Branson will fly one of his Virgin Atlantic planes on bio fuel to show it can be done, and try to find out the answers to help cut omissions form planes.

The bio fuel make up is a secret, some people think it might be made up of vegetable, but its also made up of sandwiches and a bit of chicken, in fact, they are recycling all of the left overs from in flight catering, and making them the fuel!

It works well, but the outcome wasn't too good, as the plane had some 'gas' omissions during the flight. Same as us then?

Yeah see I always said oh we'll never put a vacation on a credit card- don't want to go down that road... but then that's because we never had to! we would just save however long it took to do the vacation- and I could usually guess how long that would take (so even if we had to book things in advance, it usually allowed plenty of time to save for it). That's why we booked almost 2yrs ahead for the last cruise and then ofcourse almost 2yrs ahead for this one- but the last time we cruised was june 2006 (gosh still seems like yesterday!) and so that really was over 2yrs to save. Then only problem is when you buy a new more expensive home (which we don't regret...) in nov 2006 and then hubby has a very weird year all 2007 with no overtime at all which pretty much cuts out any saving for a vacation at all!

FORTUNATELY he has been getting overtime again recently- but it's too little too late- yanno? And then add that to the vacation pay issue- at the very least we'll have to put that amount on credit card and then pay it back when he gets his vacation pay when we actually go on the cruise. They even told him recently they'd let him get the vacation pay and go ahead and take the time off in the summer- then changed their minds back... they were going to make an exception for him then decided not to. :confused3

I hate that we're not rich enough to not have to worry about this. LOL

So how has everyone been? You said lots of people have had to cancel-WHO?

I gave up trying to make my Mom behave years ago! She ever tell you guys about her Xena Warrior Princess impression?

I'm trying to have fun planning the wedding, it's a whole lot easier, when I just think about it being a big party, instead of a wedding!
