Can we just sail NOW? I'm ready to leave for a 3 week vacation now . . just too much to do here and it would still be here when I get back anyway. Anyone else game . . we could just commendeer the ship NOW . . .

WHO IS WITH ME????pirate::cool2:

Theresa, sounds like a plan. But I don't want to go to Mickey jail or worse.:scared1:

Did you ever see the movie "That Thing You Do"? The group was called the Oneders (pronounced Wonders) but the kept getting called the "O-Needers" :rotfl2:

My DH and DS used to love singing that song:lmao:

My son was only about 3 or 4 at the time and knew all the words.

As a matter of fact, I have them filled out to send in. Have to erase my 1st choice as I think it is is to close for them or I may just leave it--March 6th. I put in for Vegas, Miami or Orlando just for a short 3 night stay. Trying to work around school days and they still haven't set Adam's graduation date yet. :)
Hope you get your choice................I sure hope they send me out of our airport:scared1:

Paula...

... if ya want an idea of which city pairing they might give you - try the website KYACK ... it has POWERFUL historical tools which tell you how much a given combination of cities and travel dates costs... as wel as how the fares have fluctuated over the past YEAR! So you can see WHEN in the year your travel dates were cheapest (or most expensive). It's a really powerful tool ... if it can be BELIEVED. that's the skeptical doubting Thomas in me emerging for a peek around.... < wink >

Excuse me now - my sister pulled a surprise visit on us so I gotta go cook now - I'm grilling steaks, salmon and my spouse is gonna do some veggies....

Barbara they have been running quite a few commercials here for the Villages. I always think of you when I see it. :)

That's how we first heard about it. Golf was my DH's main reason for wanting to move here even if we haven't retired yet. I don't think any home here is more than a couple of streets away from a golf course. If you are ever tempted to come down to check it out, let me know.

Cake Or Bed

A Husband Is At Home Watching A
Football Game When His Wife Interrupts,

Honey,
Could You Fix The Light In The Hallway?
It's Been Flickering For Weeks Now.

He Looks At Her And Says Angrily,
Fix The Lights Now?
Does It Look Like I Have Ge Written On My Forehead?
I Don't Think So.

Fine,

Then The Wife Asks,
Well Then, Could You Fix The Fridge Door?
It Won't Close Right

To Which He Replied,
Fix The Fridge Door?
Does It Look Like I Have Westinghouse Written On My Forehead?
I Don't Think So

Fine, She Says
Then You Could At Least Fix The Steps
To The Front Door?
They Are About To Break

I'm Not A Carpenter And I Don't
Want To Fix Steps
He Says, Does It L Ook Like I Have Ace Hardware Written On My Forehead?
I Don't Think So
I've Had Enough Of You.
I'm Going To The Bar!!!!

So He Goes To The Bar And Drinks For A
Couple Of Hours..............................

He Starts To Feel Guilty About How
He Treated His Wife, And Decides
To Go Home

As He Walks Into The House He Notices
That The Steps Are Already Fixed.

As He Enters The House , He Sees The
Hall Light Is Working

As He Goes To Get A Beer, He Notices
The Fridge Door Is Fixed.

Honey, He Asks, How'd All This Get Fixed?
She Said, Well, When You Left I Sat
Outside And Cried.

Just Then A Nice Young Man Asked Me
What Was Wrong, And I Told Him.

He Offered To Do All The Repairs, And
All I Had To Do Was Either
Go To Bed With Him Or Bake A Cake.

He Said,
So What Kind Of Cake Did You Bake?

She Replied,
Hellooooo..
Do You See Betty Crocker Written On My Forehead?
I Don't Think So!

I tell Alan all the time I would love to move to Florida one day..................he on the other hand isn't too keen on the idea. He and Adam just left a little bit ago to go plow our stores parking lots. Maybe that will change his mind, It is going to take them awhile to get both of the done.
Your community does look very nice. The golf is a great perk too!:goodvibes

Barbara --

I'm with you! SE Virginia doesn't see much winter, but it still gets below freezing :) I'm all for close golf courses and NO WINTER! Like others, I have the problem that my DH hasn't faced the reality that Winter is NOT necessary. . . in time. . . I'm working on DH to retire to Grand Cayman. I think the grandchildren will be more likely to visit more . . .LOL

okay folks . . .I"m off to sleep early . . .kind of groggie with the cough medicine . . .

Have a super day!

Hope you feel better Theresa.:goodvibes

DH spent 30 years working outside for a utility and all he wanted to do was get away from the cold, ice and snow. The last blizzard was the final straw. Thirty eight inches of snow and he was out on the roads in that mess for five days straight working gas leaks and no heat's. Now he only has to see it on TV. It was 75 and sunny here today. I think we have only had the heat on for ten days in four years. Of course getting to go down to WDW on his days off is an added bonus.

Being close to Disney is a grandchild magnet. They were just here at Christmas and are coming back for Easter. Then there is the month in the summer. Then they just have to pop down for ESPN The Weekend and at least one long weekend at Food & Wine. Thank goodness for Southwest and DVC. I think if I added up all the days, I see them more now than when we lived 45 minutes apart. My grandchildren think all planes go to Florida. When we went to DL a couple of years ago they got off the plane and my granddaughter just stood there and wanted to know where the "train" was. She is so used to the shuttle that takes you out to the terminal in Orlando.

Our waiter always managed to come up with a plain tossed salad with ranch dressing for DS9 every night. I think they had to run up to Topsiders for it. DS9 LOVES tossed salad with ranch.

Geesz.... I wish our waiter's assistant had been more on the ball. He really tried but DS simply wanted normal mustard for his hamburger. He ended up with Dijon - he had it spread on the bun before I realized the mistake. You would think if they are offering hamburgers on the menu for the kids that they would have mustard in the kitchen. Our servers were great on the last cruise but hoping for service a few more notches above after reading about other folks experiences.

My kids prefer Dijon, so I never noticed that they didn't have regular mustard in the dining rooms. :confused3
I guess the only thing you could do to be certain next time is to bring packets from Pluto's to dinner with you.
Or do they not still have the packets up there??

How-Does-the-Bird-Flu-Virus-Attack-the-Human-Body-2.jpg

Theresa...

... if you're coming down with that COUGHING Flu that's so common this season - please don't be like I was and try to shake it off without seeing a doc and using thier medications. I took (and lost) most of 6 weeks to get rid of it... and I was just talking to one of the parents at Juliannas' school and I was telling them about how the CDC has shown how this flu season was peaking into a mortality rate (from INFLUENZA) that was qualified as "epidemic" porportions - similar to that which was last seen in 2005. And this parent was saying they had a coworker of thiers in otherwise normal good health who came down with the flu back in 2005 - and they DIED of it. Or of complications related to INFLUENZA. I replied that I thought Deaths related to INFLUENZA were concentrated sharply among those of very advanced age and among the very young - especially among individuals of either of these groups who have complications or unusual vulnerability. SO... the idea of a real EXAMPLE of someone who was in thier prime and otherwise normal health who was STRIKEN DOWN BY INFLUENZA made me pause to consider how serious this really can be - in particular for normal folks like you and I.

SO - go see a doc and don't let it linger for 4-6 weeks like what I had.

This could be too much fun.....

Semi-Tink could be S TINK

Tom....You definitely have way too much time on your hands!!!:scared:

What time does DCL begin taking on-line reservations for Palo, Spa, Shore Excursions?
I am keeping it a secret!!!!!:lmao: :lmao:

I'm supposed to be in Chicago when the bookings open up, I'll have to try and remember to do it at 11 pm and NOT 12.

I guess Lori we will not be meeting on that night for a mini meet!!!!!;)

DARN!

With so many folks looking over things it's tough ta pull a FAST one...

Or, in MY case... to make an INNOCENT typing mistake...

OK... Cheryl, lets' make that 20% of 6 million + the frills previously mentioned.

Did you for get to metion 20% of six million what?????????

We are doing tuxes only because DH bought one so I need to get DS one too. It costs more to rent one than it does to buy one at Syms. They will be wearing them semi-formal night, formal night & any other night they can get some wear out of them! ;)

OTH we made a family decision to skip the whole pirate gear & just wear pirate t-s***. Otherwise we have to pack hats, boots, etc. & we'd need another suit case just for the costumes. We're just not that into it.

But Diane you have lots of suitcases between all of you.: I can only bring 4!!!:sad2: I am going to be a pirate with tennis shoes!!!:thumbsup2

John bought a tux for the cruise and wore it to DS wedding!!!:woohoo: John will also be wearing it as many times on the cruise as needed ( or that I insist on).:rolleyes1

Thank you, so crash your appointed arbitrator says you owe me £6m, and they have a 10% cut when you pay up! Good I love American hard justice!

I shudder to think of the image Crash will post for this..... :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Do you mean something like this:confused3

I went that route. Here is me rewearing my "pirate" outfit at WDW in August (I didn't get any pictures of me dressed up for "pirate" night on the cruise in 2006)

IMG_2723.jpg

What can I say, I grew up in Pittsburgh.

I am thankfull you did not say Illinois!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

I bought one of those portable luggage scales--just so I can make sure our bags are gonna be within the limit. If anyone wants to borrow it my room # is GTY!:)

I will remember...... go see Paula at GTY!!!!:hug:

[CENTERAlicia has a set "routine"...

... she packs soft sided cargo bags packed empty and folded flat in our regular bags - "just in case" we need 'em. Wanna guess how often THAT is?

I did something similar on our trip to WDW and DCL last year. I packed a smaller suitcase inside one of the larger ones. They were all full on the way home. :goodvibes
