I went that route. Here is me rewearing my "pirate" outfit at WDW in August (I didn't get any pictures of me dressed up for "pirate" night on the cruise in 2006)

What can I say, I grew up in Pittsburgh.

JR we need to sign you up for Pirate school. :lmao:

Thanks Todd. Yes you already sent that to me and DW and I need to take a trip to the fabric store this weekend to start looking for material.

... [ed]...

I will probably get a tux on ebay for DS, even though he is growing like a weed lately. He doesn't own a suit or jacket right now and there really isn't any other event he will need one for in the next year. Since I am going to have to buy something anyway, it may as well be a tux so he can have fun dressing like dad. DH owns a tux since he needs one twice per year for choir concerts.

I can recommend this EBAY thing for tuxes - but with a couple words of warning. I've bought 3 tux auctions on ebay - and 2 of 3 came out pretty good. In one case however I bought from a private party and the trouser waist size was a bit smaller then expected. The upside though is that private party auction cost me truly NOTHING but time to look for it. All told though... I have two black tux jackets and one pair of pants which sort of go together - and ONE white dinner jacket for a little over the cost of renting ONCE. And since I've used my tuxes on a dozen plus occassions - including the recent Daddy & Daughter dance of this past saturday - I have gotten terriffic value from my purchases - not to mention the variety and convenience of anytime use - with NO concerns if a glass of wine or worse gets spilled on me!

I so agree about typing on laptops! :thumbsup2 Our main downstairs computer is a laptop, so I do it - but I make a LOT more mistakes. I touch type (fairly fast) and it is just so frustrating having to stop and correct all the time. I really like the "split-style" keyboards and have that at the office and 1 of the home PCs - but the other 2 PC's have standard keyboards and the laptop has its silly sub-size keyboard - so I am always having to adjust.

Oddly enough... we have used put up with several different sized keyboards (no split ones though) with similar fustration. And this is so even though I'm the worlds' worst typist.

He can dine with my DS7. His meal request for his birthday since he turned 5has been clam chowder and roasted acorn squash. Four was "roast beef chicken". It took me about a week to figure out what he wanted! He turned 4 two months after our first DCL & he had eaten the adult menu roasted chicken several times - roast beef chicken!.

My kids really like ordering from the adult menu on the cruise.

My DS7 loves the adult food. Had the escargot last time we cruised. Last year he kept asking me if I would make the "flaming ya" on the grill again. Took me a while to figure it out, now it's our inside joke.

My dh and I get a kick out of looking at and trying to decipher vanity plates. We are such dorks that we will even come home and tell each other about plates we saw that day. Pathetic, yes.

Some have left a lasting impression. For example, one day we drove up next to a red VW bug with a plate that read "GO BUGS". He also had an Ohio State University Alumni specialty plate, so it was clearly a play on the cheer "Go Bucks". LOVED  that one! And the man driving the car was a dead ringer for Santa Claus.....hmmmmmm...could it be?

M....I think the Tink plate would be cute. Have you considered just shoving all of the letters together like this: TINKSH. When I read that, I read it as "Tinkish".

The most memorable vanity plate I saw was on a Geo metro. It said "Ugly Geo":lmao:

True story, not long after getting my vanity plate I was on my way to work one morning when I realized that a car was following me. Didn't matter what I did, sped up, slowed down, turned, etc., that car was on me like glue. I began to get a bit worried so I decided to make a stop before I got to work to see what this person would do. I pulled over at the post office and got out of my car to head inside when the person who was following me suddenly jumped out of their car, ran up to me and said "I've been following you for a couple of miles - I just have to know, are you a member of the Disney family?"

But I'm only allowed two bags! I can't stick my extra stuff into the kids' bags this time! (yes, I AM whining!) :guilty:

Oops....just saw your other post. Better call the waaaambulance!

Yep, you got it on the first try . .. I get some interesting questions on mine as well . . but isn't that the point of the vanity plates? To have strangers come up and ask you questions . . .LOL

I get a lot of other Moms telling me "Isn't that the truth!". Mine is 2NFROM.

Not yet, but it is getting closer:rolleyes1 . Good luck getting it all done:goodvibes

Hey Paula...

Have ya used your Dockers free FLIGHT redemption card yet? One of Alicia's co-workers did this deal too - and she sent in for a flight from LAX to NYC... and was offerred a red eye flight out of Ontario Airport - not the most convenient airport or flight time. So she declined it and resubmitted. AND... Ontario Airport was NOT one of the two airports she requested as a point of origin. However, supposedly they send an email which we can reply to in expediting and accepting their flight route/time proposal.

Also, since I sent our flight redemption cards in 9 days ago I just called in to see where it was in the process. However, they had no clear info on it (or if it had come in)... however, they did seem cordial and helpful in taking my notes / requests to forward to their "booking agent".

I'll also add that the flight dates and city pairings all come up as costing $359-389 each. So for the $125 spent for Dockers AND with the redemption cost - now estimated to be $50-100... this still looks to be a tolerable deal IF the flights are survivable.

We're looking to jet out to Boston in June for my nieces' birthday - and to possibly do some lite exploration in the region. Frankly, if I did not hqave family in Boston I would have preferred to just hit Washington DC to see the sights, museums and fameous landmarks. And as such, WDC was my 3rd choice of city to fly into if they denied us Boston or NYC.

So - as I recall your flight travel under the promotion guidelines must be completed by July... so if you haven't redeemed the vouchers - you might want to make some plans to use them soon.

Don't forget to pack disposable underwear and socks. Perfect time to get rid of those unmentionable unmentionables.

After seeing the replays of Zednik getting slashed last night, I don't envy any hockey players any more.

We do that on a lot of our island trips....not the hockey thing, the unmentionable thing. Watched some maids divvy up our old t-shirts in Bonaire once. They fought over DH's "I'M A WINNER" shirt from one of the riverboat casinos.

And ewwww....pretty gory, wasn't it? Tough sport, that hockey.

I like that one...

We first went to WDW in 04 and son was just turning 5. DS would say wheres that mouse! He was so excited about going and his trip he told everyone I went to Dis A knee <-- that would be the pronounciation.

So I did my plates online and it worked fin - got them and they dropped a letter DIZAKNE - was thinking about changing then this year ... but it grew on me....

I saw this one I liked - Oneder

The less you bring the more you are forced to buy .:rotfl::rotfl:

This is my story and I am sticking to it:

I only "need" to buy stuff in Cartagena and Aruba, because I've been to the other ports. Yeah, uh huh.....and DH fell for that.....;)

It is amazing how different the franchises operate.

003.jpg

FOr what its' worth... I can easily assume the RENT for the dealer at the OAKS MALL has got to be higher then the FIrestone I ended up at. So hat might explain why the MALL location was driven to what appear to be creative revenue enhancement tactics.

Now I have to wonder (ha) if I've punched in DIZ NEE.....hmmm....may have to go check that out.

I fear for the day when I pack...both for the DL/TOAL and for the flight home........I am a shop-a-holic and love to buy for family and love to get stuff from different ports...then packing for the cruise...bringing the clothes!
