To use ANDREW as a character witness is really scraping the bottom . . . I would say having your innocence attested by Andrew makes it most likely that one scoundrel is covering for another!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Put in for DD's passport book and card this morning. Regular service so it'll be interesting to see what the processing time will be. Passport cards won't be made and shipped until April or May but the book should come well before then.

I'm feeling all smug too because her passport photos (I took a new one) only cost 28 cents plus tax!! Took the photo of her lying on a white blanket then used the Kodak instant-print machine at Wal-Mart (or CVS) which has an "ID photo" option and presto! 17 seconds and it printed six 2"x2" photos onto one 4"x6" print. Beats paying $12 for photos at Kinko's!

Hey Jonesing - can I ask you a question? Do both your spouse and you need to apply at the PO for the baby? We are traveling with a group in July that just had a baby in Nov. They need to get a passport and I was told that both of them would have to appear when they apply for the baby's passport? Thanks - just saw you posted and thought I'd ask.

As for the rest of this thread - WHAT HAPPENED? So quiet - did Cheryl go shopping.

Almost forgot - DH has been playing poker again - seems that Feb is a good month for the Commerce Casino. He walked in last night with a leather jacket and a black cap that had LAPC (Los Angeles Poker Classic) seems he made it to the final table before being knocked out. And as a parting gift he was given those along with cash! :woohoo: :woohoo:

I am on my way to the bank to deposit my share of the winnings! But guys - don't fret - I let him have some. My share of the profits considering he'll be there on Valentine's Day with his dad.

BTW, you all know the max cash one can deposit into the bank before its reported to Big Brother? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

OK seriously - pulling a Crash here - gotta go - deposit "my winnings" and then to pick up the restless one. I love track practice - they come home too tired after all those lunges to give me any lip.

Can we petition track season to go on all year??????:lmao:

You could get a picture of Andrew from the pirate zone and complete the image . . .:goodvibes

I believe the resolution needs to be a little higher. Besides, most of the "good" images to rip are locked up (and lost in among the 1000s of postings) on the original thread. AND... my time (contrary to what some might think) is NOT unlimited.

Besides, I was not sure if Andrew wanted me to mix his "INNNOCENT" mug with a known character of questionable "INNOCENCE" (as implied by some). :lmao:

At any rate, I was going to say nothing for a few days - but earlier today we recieved news that a good friend of ours - roughly our age - one who had surgery a year or so ago to remove a kidney (I think) due to kidney cancer... well, we noticed she had not been hanging around with us much in the past 2-3 weeks... and today we found out that tomorrow she will go in for surgery - they found a cancerous growth in the brain and this is .... bad. I'm not feeling all so hot or happy go lucky today. Not that I'm fishing for sympathy in supporting my playful assertions of innocence. Frankly, it's a thankful escape to be here sometimes cracking jokes and reading everyone elses' banter - and today has been one of those rare days when I could use - or needed a little bit of a diversion.

At any rate, it's so sad since our friend JEAN has a 2 year old boy and husband to survive her if things don't turn around. And we've been rallying with her family to add a few smiles to this year... more so then our usual neighborly friendship over the years. Know what I mean? We knew the odds were not good at all for her survival over 2 years - but it's different when it's happening. At any rate,... I don't mean to be a dampener for others - just it's a sort of sad day for our family.

I have to run now... cheers.

That's probably the easiest way in most cases, but here's the official options:

1. Both parents must appear together and sign or

2. One parent appears, signs, and submits second parent's notarized statement of consent authorizing passport issuance for the child (a notarized Form DS-3053, Statement of Consent: Issuance of a Passport to a Minor Under Age 16, or a notarized written statement with the same information on a sheet of paper from the non-appearing parent) or

3. One parents appears, signs, and submits primary evidence of sole authority to apply (such as one of the following):

Child's certified U.S. or foreign birth certificate (with translation, if necessary) listing only applying parent; or
Consular Report of Birth Abroad (Form FS-240) or Certification of Birth Abroad (Form DS-1350) listing only applying parent; or
Court order granting sole custody to the applying parent (unless child's travel is restricted by that order); or
Adoption decree (if applying parents is sole adopting parent); or
Court order specifically permitting applying parent's or guardian's travel with the child; or
Judicial declaration of incompetence of non-applying parent; or
Death certificate of non-applying parent.

If none of the above documentation is available, the applying parent/guardian should submit a Form DS-3053: Statement of Consent or Special Circumstances: Issuance of a Passport to a Minor Under Age 16..

You know - I think I might be persuaded to hunt down a picture of Andrew for a price???? :rolleyes1

Get me a good picture and I'll file it - maybe use it - and I'll be indebted to you to the tune of your choice of a) a Mickey bar or b) a mess of Recess Peanut butter cups.

I really gotta go now.

Hey Julie....are you feeling better?

OMG! 3 hours to get home tonight.
I travel a whopping 6 miles by car, along your typical major surface street (shopping centers, fast food, etc.) Well, that road was closed tonight due to an accident - both directions. AND all the other routes were insane AND the police weren't letting anyone turn left anywhere. SO I went several miles out of my way in order to turn left, which was necessary to get home. AND it was my night to pick up the boys since DH has class. After-school care closes at 6:15. I got there at 7. And all this before the freezing rain started. DH just went back to his office after class. He may just sleep there.
SO instead of a quick dinner and heading to the gym, we had pizza rolls and chicken fries & now I'm on the couch in my jammies.

Why, oh why, do people live here!

I want to go home.

Tom, I'm so sorry to hear this. First, let me say how many smiles and <chuckles> I've gotten from your posts over the last year. I wish I could post something really witty to raise your spirits. Unfortunately, I really am innocent and nowhere near as creative as you. But please accept my offer of support. I will say a prayer for Jean and her family.

Hello!!! Are you living on the wrong side of the Potomac? We had a couple inches by the time dh left for work this morning.

I must be. No snow. Freezing rain right now. That's fun.

I hope you didn't get up early to vote!

Oh good idea. I've never used one of those machines. I didn't even know ID photo was an option.

Oh there's a fun fluff topic. Post your passport photo!

Horrible. This happened to a Buffalo Sabres goalie named Chuck Malarchuk in 1989. He's now the goaltending coach for the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Columbus newspaper had an interview with him in the paper today regarding his incident and Zednik's. He said he's requested permission from the Blue Jackets to contact Zednik and the Panthers to offer his assistance because he went through the same thing and has struggled with it for years. In the article, it says that at the game: 2 fans had heart attacks, 9 passed out and 3 hockey players vomited upon seeing the skate hit his throat. The game was televised and his mom was watching, his only thought was "I wanted to get off the ice. I didn't want my mom to see me die."

NHL goalies have been required to have throat guards ever since his incident. He's advocated kevlar throat protection for players, but the NHL hasn't required them.

Here's the full article: http://www.dispatch.com/live/conten...0212.ART_ART_02-12-08_C1_N59B5G8.html?sid=101

Thanks for sharing the artilce. I remember when that happened. I don't think the footage of Zednick's injury is near as gruesome as I remember Malarchuk's. That was the first thing that ran through my mind when I heard about Zednick on Sunday.

Off-topic: Wii game review (ok...everything here is off-topic:lmao: )
We bought DD Katie the new "Endless Ocean" Wii game for her birthday. We celebrated on Saturday even though it's technically tomorrow. Anyway, it's a virtual scuba diving adventure game. For those with children who might be interested in snorkeling on the cruise or future, I think it's great. The graphics are awesome and the objective is to research marine life seen on dives. In the game, part of the "Funding" of your character's marine research is paid for by hosting other researchers who "request" to see certain fish. So, during the dive, you must locate that fish to earn more equipment for future dives. My DW, who hasn't wanted anything to do with the Wii, has even started playing this one.

You lost me there. The last thing I need is to spend MORE of my time looking for funders and cowtowing to them. :rotfl2:

At least on the Wii you don't have to deal with grumpy program officers, family foundation infighting, co-workers that don't want to do any work, but want funding and corporations that want you to stencil their logo on the fish.

OK, bad day at work.

I'm done grumping now.
