Thank you Laura. Actually we are not sure what Raleigh is. :confused3 His mother was rescued 2 days before she gave birth. All 7 of the puppies look quiet different. The only lineage that we know of is that Raleigh's mother was a Cocker. His face looks like a golden but he has much smaller white paws than a golden. We will have to wait until he grows up to see what we got.

Bo is all grown up now, and we STILL don't know what we got! He was a fluffy little puppy and now he has smooth, short hair with a bit of curl to it. We had thought there was a lot of Lab in him, but have also been told Pit Bull.

Yes, but do you trust me with the excursions? :confused3
Last time, I booked everything and the Moms were plenty happy to go with the flow. This year, I promise to ask everyone first.

What a great opportunity that would have been for Lisa. Maybe next time.

Yes, I do trust you with the excursions. I will be happy to go with the flow.

I wish Lisa could have gone. If they change their mind for whatever reason, I will be happy to pay for her flight and tickets to the events. She is flying up to Philly at the conclusion of the events anyway to attend gymnastic camp with her friend anyway.

I just bought 4 of these for our trip so we can each have our own wheeled carry on. This way I won't hear, "Mom can I have my gum, Ipod, magazine, etc." Plus I'm hoping the more we can stick in these babies the more room I have in the suitcases. I'm also going to buy a couple of rolling garment bags, because I realized with tuxes & dresses that one just isn't going to cut it. Now if I can keep everything else in 1 good sized suitcase a piece we should be okay....I hope! :headache:

Nice, Diane. I think we'll be okay in the large suitcase department, but do you have a pic of the rolling garment bags you are considering? I have one of the old foldover style and I think it seriously needs to find a new home and I'll get a more updated one.

You would lose the bet Tina. We are the ONLY district in the area that has school. But I kept my kids home. Mark and I both agreed that it was too nasty out to send them. I had a heck of a time getting through on the school's attendance line, so I bet I wasn't the only one. Funny thing is they cancelled all the afternoon school. Like the pm kindergarten. And the snow has stopped now but it looks like it could dump some more on us.

Wow, your kidding. I think the only 2 districts in Wayne Co. with school are Grosse Pointe and Harper Woods. I talked to my friend at work she said someone was complaining about a co-worker bringing in her dd today. Before Christmas when we had a snow day, I went in an took my dd and they got alone well. Guess it's good we stayed home. Never know which way the wind blows at work, so best we stayed at home.

Now out to shovel the snow.

Bo is very cute Stace. Amazing how much they change from their puppy look.

I hope Cheryl and John made it to their train OK - It is a miserable morning here in the Chicago area. Nearly all the schools are closed (including my DS8's) and they are reporting the roads are awful. It is supposed to continue snowing until lunchtime. Total accumulation is supposed to be between 6" to 12" depending on where you are. DH and DS are out shoveling right now. looking out the window (yes, I'm lazy and letting them do it! :lmao: ) it looks like we have about 7"-8" here. I'm betting my DF will be calling any minute to tell me NOT to come into work (one of the big plusses of working for Dad - he doesn't want me to drive in this type of stuff! :thumbsup2 )

Pamela

Cheryl called around 1/2 hour ago. Leave it to her to always have that special experience. she said they got going ok and it was snowing. Then they passed a station and abit later the train stopped for around an hour. Then it went backwards. After a few minutes of this she found someone to explain? Apparently they have Fed reg about how long the crew can be on the train and they exceeded it when they were in the previous station. She of course asked why they didn't figure this out an hour ago. They backed up around 8 miles, switched crews and were on their way. Whew!!! I am glad I'm not flying with her :rotfl2: JK.

Well apparantly I have found a way out of getting out of going to the office today. DD and I have Fifths Disease. What a pain. Fortunately the only pregnant person in the office was not in yesterday. Now I am happy to report my stint of driving to Downtown Dallas is done for the year.
Everyone have a great Friday!!!!

Coral

Gotta love that 5th disease.

Hi everyone! Good Morning!

I just got off the phone with DCL...We are still on WLE...I guess the review the list everyday blah blah.....

Someone mentioned (I forgot who?! lol) about me planning early and the "moms" Brendan's mom hasn't offered anything....MY momhas been the advisor...we have only clashed once so far and that is about hair! I want it down she thinks my hair will look better up!
Everything else has been going pretty smoothly..where is some wood to knock on???

Have to go to my mom's work now...a coworker makes jewelry and mom thought (and told the woman!) they would make great attendant gifts!!!!!!!!!!!! (go ahead enjoy the laugh!:rotfl2: )

Chrissie

My mom is the same way. Headbands growing up, ponytails to make my big ears bigger. I am wearing it down when I drive out Wednesday but bringing lots of barrettes and rubber bands.

As I said to you before, Roger, my dog Linus is the best dog I have ever had -- and he was a rescue puppy . . . he has to have a lot of retriever in him from his looks and his behavior, but ultimately it just doesn't matter. As I have pointed out to the girls, WE are all "mutts" . . . (and thank goodness for that! look at what happened to the royal families of Europe when they inbred for too long -- many ended up with hemophilia)

Roger....dh just saw a picture of Raleigh, and commented he looks like he should be a dog on a tv show! Just so picture perfect!

Have your girls seen the new movie that is coming out....Snow Buddies? DD can not wait to see it! Raleigh looks a lot like those pups, so I think there very well could be some Golden in her. If she is Golden/Cocker, you could end up with a mini-Golden. Like a forever puppy!

I didn't have pillars in '96 (oh the humanity). If my mom had total say she would have put a fountain in there (remember those).....

I gave her a picture and said "MAKE THIS". and she did. I had two huge layers on the bottom. Then above that was a glass bowl filled with a rose arrangement. (that was the "seperator") and then another double layer of smaller cakes.

My mom is the queen of making cakes in strange hotel rooms. (been there done that many times.) She makes one of THEE BEST pound cakes. The cakes were baked ahead of time the day before and sealed and then she does the decorating and assembly at the hotel. With all the powdered sugar that goes into the icing... The room ended up looking like a drug lab gone bad. What the maids must think...

We had to build a tray of 3/4 plywood to hold the weight of the cake for transport. THat thing was heavy and took two guys to carry. (Just the lower part too)

Oh you didn't know that finals and all that are done by the first week in June and then they do puzzles and color and watch movies the last two weeks. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: (oh yeah thought they were edumacating them didn't you. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: )

Just you wait....Next year they wanted to keep the kids until June 25th... But to many people complained.

I scanned my old slides from my wedding. Just a few as FIL was snapping some for his own. Speaking of cakes. I hated the traditional sponge cakes and opted for a chocolate rum cake. Yes Captain RUM. Here is the pic I have and mind you this was in 1969. We were just babes.Tiers and all and yes, my hair was back and up. I don't think I would've liked it down but it took about an hour to comb that do out.

Almost 50 years old and my Mom is still always on my case about my hair. She doesn't do it as often now that I've cut it short, but when it was long she was constantly asking me if I was "going to do something with that hair".

The worst thing we did was to hold him all the time when he was little. Now he weighs nearly 50 pounds and still thinks he should be on my lap!!
He's a pretty good boy, though....except he thinks our Lhasa is his own personal fluff toy to mess with.

I can really see the Cocker in Raleigh. He's going to still be a really good looking dog when he grows up.

Oh yes....great timing!

I hope you got a good deal. Everyplace has their plasmas and big screens on sale right now!

Oh yes a real good deal . thats why we went with the really good Home theater to ..lol

Hi Paula!:)
Trying really hard to get in the planning mood!!!!! ETA: I have started looking into flights, but have to light a fire under DH, he has to decide and finalize exactly how many days he can take off. I really want to get things moving!

It is really weird, but for some reason booking the airfare makes the whole trip more real and gets you into that planning mood!

Wow, your kidding. I think the only 2 districts in Wayne Co. with school are Grosse Pointe and Harper Woods.

My mother grew up in Harper Woods! Her whole family was from the Detroit area, but I don't think any of them are still there - they ALL moved to Florida (except DM who lives about 3 miles from me).

I can Soooo relate to this! I wore my hair long from childhood until June 2003 - when I finally gave in to the years of my Mom's nagging and cut it to shoulder length. I was 38 at the time. Since then I've kept it around shoulder length or a little longer, but I haven't been in for a cut now since last summer and it is rapidly approaching "long" again - I'm just waiting for the comments to start! I'm trying to make up my mind if I should cut it again or just go back to long. Long is soooo much easier! I have very straight hair that won't hold a curl (not even a perm).

Hi & Bye Mary Ann! ;)

Hi Mary Ann! :flower3:

Hey Mary Ann:yay:

Nice to see you here Mary Ann. How are you?

I was just thinking about you today and was going to e-mail. How ARE you?

How are you doing????:confused3 Come to chat once in awhile.

Hi Everyone...I'm doing pretty good, thanks. Have been very tired and we took a little trip to WDW last week to celebrate ending chemo - that didn't help that  . I got my procrit (sp?) shot yesterday and that seems to help quite a bit once it kicks in. However, I got some wonderful news yesterday that raised my spirits immensely.....

My tumor has shrunk to the point of being undetectable on the MRI I had Monday :cool1: :cool1: . I am so very grateful to all the Dr's and nurses who have taken care of me in the last months. They are really amazing!! I have a surgery date of Feb 15th. I had to make some pretty big decisions about all that yesterday, but I think I have made the right choices for myself.

:lmao: I'm Getting kick off by DS:confused3

That's why we have 3 desktops and work laptop....

DD is at school so I won't be kicked off for a bit. Although, I am nervous about her bus ride home since we are about an hour into a ice storm and the roads are covered white with sleet and no sign of changing over to rain like it is supposed to do.

It seems I have to fight more and more for a little computer time these days. All of a sudden DD is really into being on-line. There's a computer upstairs too but I want her using the one in the living room where we can see what she's doing. I don't like to use the one upstairs - no comfy chair...yet ;) .

Hi,
Just popping in to say I'm back here in L.A. - it was a long (7 hrs) but uneventful trip. I do have a condition that frequently happens on the long straight stretches of I5 - it's call Lead Foot. :rotfl2: I did so go over the speed limit - I had the iPod on shuffle - hardy any cars around - then I glanced at my speedometer and oops!! I slowed it down a lot - but then it seemed as if I was crawling!!
Got to get settled back in - then go & pick Matt up at school.
Doubt I'll get to chat tonght - have to help DD Lori w/a project.
