I went outside and took a few photos of the snow. It is really pretty and seems to have stopped falling now. The roads looks like they are getting cleared up. DS8 is enjoying his day off!

I LOVE the snow on the antenna ball!!! Too cute. If snow can BE cute.
And the poor kitty!! Nice black spot out there in all that white.

Hi Everyone...I'm doing pretty good, thanks. Have been very tired and we took a little trip to WDW last week to celebrate ending chemo - that didn't help that  . I got my procrit (sp?) shot yesterday and that seems to help quite a bit once it kicks in. However, I got some wonderful news yesterday that raised my spirits immensely.....

My tumor has shrunk to the point of being undetectable on the MRI I had Monday :cool1: :cool1: . I am so very grateful to all the Dr's and nurses who have taken care of me in the last months. They are really amazing!! I have a surgery date of Feb 15th. I had to make some pretty big decisions about all that yesterday, but I think I have made the right choices for myself.

Maryann, that is WONDERUL news!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Take care of yourself as you head toward Feb. 15th . . . trust yourself and your decisions and be sure to find ways to pamper yourself.

Hi,
Just popping in to say I'm back here in L.A. - it was a long (7 hrs) but uneventful trip. I do have a condition that frequently happens on the long straight stretches of I5 - it's call Lead Foot. :rotfl2: I did so go over the speed limit - I had the iPod on shuffle - hardy any cars around - then I glanced at my speedometer and oops!! I slowed it down a lot - but then it seemed as if I was crawling!!
Got to get settled back in - then go & pick Matt up at school.
Doubt I'll get to chat tonght - have to help DD Lori w/a project.

Glad to hear you finally made it -- and that you didn't get a ticket!:goodvibes

it is time for bed...i don't know why i'm still up! ugh!! i'm on the east coast, but always seem to be up when the west coast folks are here! i really should be in bed....morning comes too quickly!! hopefully i'll have no troubles adjusting to the time diff in august!! LOL!!!

Me too except I'm not awake enough at 7:30 in the am to be on the thread like you were this morning. I have to wait until after my nap for that! ;)

Good Morning Everyone........:wave2:

:wave2: I missed seeing this for a while! Not that I'm trying to make you feel bad, because I know you're busy on your cruise meet thread, but just wanted to let you know you were missed! :goodvibes

No delay for us. I guess that's a good thing or I would either have to skip school or bring them with me. :scared1: And even more important than school, a bunch of us are going for Thai food for lunch and I'd hate to miss that!:thumbsup2

Yep priorities Mike! ;)

The 2 things I gave in to for my mom were the veil & the cake. I didn't want to wear a veil, but I gave in (didn't wear it over my face). And Mom insisted that the cake have pillars. Keep in mind this was 1994, when a wedding cake withou pillars was a pretty radical ideal.:)
:lmao: :lmao:

OMfreekinG! It is 38 and raining, so my kids had a two hour delay! This is insane. What do you mean, not doing much the end of June? My kids have school until June 18. That is crazy late to me.

Oh and here is another fun and exciting school fact I discovered last night. My kids aren't allowed to run on the playground. :confused3 What??? God forbid someone should skin their knee. They are allowed to run on the grass, but they haven't been allowed on the grass since October.

Once again we apologized to our kids last night for making them live here.

I didn't have pillars & I got married in 1989. I just had a big heart shaped cake! I must be like a freakin' flower child or something!

Yes as others have said...."Welcome to the Northeast!" I was lunch monitor for a while, but I couldn't take it because I had to constantly remind them that they couldn't play tag, football, dodgeball, etc. NO contact sports allowed! They were allowed to run though....geez!

As for school closings, our Super. stinks & hardly ever lets them out. In fact it was snowing so bad one day in December, my DD got stuck at Middle School for 2 hours because the buses couldn't get through. ooooh I was so mad!

We go sometimes till the end of June with about 5 snow days. We get out a bit earlier, with no snow days. And as Kristina says, once finals are done, they do NOTHING. Around here it's the MCAS tests which are actually done at the end of May....after that? :confused3

Nice, Diane. I think we'll be okay in the large suitcase department, but do you have a pic of the rolling garment bags you are considering? I have one of the old foldover style and I think it seriously needs to find a new home and I'll get a more updated one.

I posted the following late last night:

I shopped around on-line & the least expensive I found was for a Milano 43" black rolling garment bag for 49.88 at Walmart. Bought 2 & got free shipping. I was not looking for high end luggage & they seemed to get good reviews so that was good enough for me!

Cheryl called around 1/2 hour ago. Leave it to her to always have that special experience. she said they got going ok and it was snowing. Then they passed a station and abit later the train stopped for around an hour. Then it went backwards. After a few minutes of this she found someone to explain? Apparently they have Fed reg about how long the crew can be on the train and they exceeded it when they were in the previous station. She of course asked why they didn't figure this out an hour ago. They backed up around 8 miles, switched crews and were on their way. Whew!!! I am glad I'm not flying with her :rotfl2: JK.

Gotta love that 5th disease.

Wow that's just weird!

Fifths disease went around like crazy here a few years ago, but I haven't seen much lately.

I scanned my old slides from my wedding. Just a few as FIL was snapping some for his own. Speaking of cakes. I hated the traditional sponge cakes and opted for a chocolate rum cake. Yes Captain RUM. Here is the pic I have and mind you this was in 1969. We were just babes.Tiers and all and yes, my hair was back and up. I don't think I would've liked it down but it took about an hour to comb that do out.

Between Cheryl and Tom, I'm getting a bit concerned about the TOAL. What kind of diversions are we going to experience?

DD is at school so I won't be kicked off for a bit. Although, I am nervous about her bus ride home since we are about an hour into a ice storm and the roads are covered white with sleet and no sign of changing over to rain like it is supposed to do.

It seems I have to fight more and more for a little computer time these days. All of a sudden DD is really into being on-line. There's a computer upstairs too but I want her using the one in the living room where we can see what she's doing. I don't like to use the one upstairs - no comfy chair...yet ;) .

Mary Ann I am sooooo thrilled to hear the good news and I know you will do whatever you think is best!

We now have two desk tops & a lap top, but nobody wants to use the lap top so I'm STILL fighting for the computer. Except they know tonight is chat night so they better just BACK OFF! ;)

Yeah, but less signs = more packing space. I could really go overboard with signs, but decided against it.

Here's my fav that a DISigns person made for me.

notalking.thumbnail.jpg

Have a nice weekend!!!:grouphug:

Have a safe trip, Cheryl. As far as the, "not being too chatty" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Well apparantly I have found a way out of getting out of going to the office today. DD and I have Fifths Disease. What a pain. Fortunately the only pregnant person in the office was not in yesterday. Now I am happy to report my stint of driving to Downtown Dallas is done for the year.
Everyone have a great Friday!!!!

Coral

Hope you both feel better soon :flower3: :flower3:

Hi everyone! Good Morning!

Have to go to my mom's work now...a coworker makes jewelry and mom thought (and told the woman!) they would make great attendant gifts!!!!!!!!!!!! (go ahead enjoy the laugh!:rotfl2: )

Chrissie

OK, Chrissie, the scene from My Big Fat Greek Wedding comes to mind

Only 2-3 for NY.:confused3 That's nuts... Most districts we've lived in have 5 days built in.... The worst was the year we first had a bunch of electrical storms and a hurricane. No power at the school for days so kids got off in September. Then we had many snow days too after that. We lost presidents day, and easter vacation that year.

We get five days worked into the schedule and if we go over we get them added onto the end of the year. Being absent is a huge deal in our district so many families plan their vacations for the breaks.

Bo is all grown up now, and we STILL don't know what we got! He was a fluffy little puppy and now he has smooth, short hair with a bit of curl to it. We had thought there was a lot of Lab in him, but have also been told Pit Bull.
:confused3

What a mug....Bo is too cute

As I said to you before, Roger, my dog Linus is the best dog I have ever had -- and he was a rescue puppy . . . he has to have a lot of retriever in him from his looks and his behavior, but ultimately it just doesn't matter. As I have pointed out to the girls, WE are all "mutts" . . . (and thank goodness for that! look at what happened to the royal families of Europe when they inbred for too long -- many ended up with hemophilia)

Our dog was a rescue puppy too. We knew the mother was part shepard and part black lab. No ide about the father, but given the size of Zonkers, I'm thinking maybe part moose?:confused3

Thank you Laura. Actually we are not sure what Raleigh is. :confused3 His mother was rescued 2 days before she gave birth. All 7 of the puppies look quiet different. The only lineage that we know of is that Raleigh's grandmother was a Cocker. His face looks like a golden but he has much smaller white paws than a golden. We will have to wait until he grows up to see what we got.
