How many formal nights are there? Do I need two formal dresses and one semi formal? Are most of the men renting tuxes for the formal nights? Do they still need to bring a suit for the semi-formal night? What about the kids - does anyone plan to rent a tux for their son? Do the boys still need to bring a suit for the semi-formal? I’ve never been on a cruise where there has been a formal night, so I really know nothing:confused3

The WB cruise has 2 formal and one semi, so that is what I'm planning for.
Last cruise, DH wore a tux and DSs wore suits for formal night. This time I am getting (or renting- haven't decided) tuxes for the kids. I'm going with 2 long formals (1 princess-ish) and a cocktail dress for semi-formal, DH and the boys will wear suits for semi-formal. I'll probably also wear the cocktail dress to Palo, unless those 2 nights are back to back.

We have a turtle or tortoise here in Vegas , but I cant think of his name ...

pirate:

we dont leave port till 11:30 PM they cannot do fireworks in port , also Pirate night is a huge night , they wouldnt do it when half the people are off the ship ...I believe that Pirate Night will be the Night After Aruba , which would make it a sea night .....(Better for me too , more time to get ready)

pirate:

...and more time for al of use to monitor your pre-costume rum consumption.
Poor, poor monkey paw...

Sat the 16th, Julie (bellelinus) and I are going to stake out a big spot for Fantasmic. Anyone who wants to join us is welcome. Also, disneypilots is working on some other DL meet plans.

We're really excited about that!

:scared1: Wow, M, I'm impressed. That's a lot of shopping for you.

Yeah, and it made me grumpy.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
On pirate night I did rum, lots and lots of rum
On Mexican night I did tequila, lotas and lots of tequila
On Tropical night I did...
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Peyton played college ball at UT.........Thats University of Tennessee.........Not University of Texaaaaassss !!!!! LOL

So anybody that makes it to the pro's from UT has a cult like following.

I agree with ya, would like to see Eli get some attention...........take some of the pressure off Peyton.

Can you believe that Archie has two sons that play starting quarterback in the NFL ??? And he was no slouch in the NFL !!! Must be nice to have those bloodlines !!!!

..and Ryan Leif is doing the same thing tonight as the rest of us. Sitting on the couch with a beer.

Pina Coladas?

Wait, are you predicting rain on Tropical night?

OK, my wings are buffaloed, my guac is moled, it's time for football!!!!!

They wouldn't even tell her what the group rate would be unless she had a group ready to book. To me, that doesn't sound very friendly. But we went ahead and booked our two rooms anyway, because we wanted to make sure we had them.
I'm staying there in June, too, before our Mexican Riviera cruise.....my "appetizer" for this one....so at least I can check it all out ahead of time.
Cool:cool2: maybe you can scout out potential restaurants for dinner DIS meet:confused3
You' re right about it not being very group friendly too:confused:
Just for one night though.

Might want to check Ebay. I got a really nice one for $20.00

I bought a tiara on ebay. 5 bucks plus 9 for shipping:lmao: It looked pretty in the picture:rolleyes1

This is our first cruise with a formal night too:goodvibes

Since we are worried about space in our luggage, we plan to rent the tux and a white dinner jacket from DCL (both my DH and DS14). Maybe add a sport coat:confused3 depends upon space again.
They'll be able to use the DCL formal wear for the length of the cruise (hopefully they won't spill anything on them:sad2: ).
I'm bringing at least one formal dress, one semi-formal and one "little black dress" for me. My DD10 Kelly has 2 nice dresses from Christmas that we will bring for the formal and the semi-formal. Plus regular dinner clothes.

Ok thanks, due to a mix up between Docs I only got them yesterday I am not going up for two weeks starting tonight! and when I say going up, you will not be able to get me off the ceiling!

Well, it's strange that you only just got the new dosage, but good luck over the next two weeks!

I am hoping that DCL will change the Time for Acapulco back to what it was before we sail , I would love to do the white river rafting , but as it is right now there is not enough time ...:sad2: :sad2:

pirate:

I am hoping that they will do it later, too . . . although from what Andrew says, it may not be able to be much later and have us make our slot at the PC.

YES! And to make it clear, this is going to be informal . . . you are not required to sign up in advance or tell us if you can't make it . . . we will just say where we are going to be for the 9 PM Fantasmic, and anyone who wants to meet us there early (since we will be in the sitting area which fills up early) can do so.

There are some of you Stateside who like McVities Chocolate Digestives, so I thought you may be interested in the following story.................................

Don't rush all at once:lmao:

David

Arrrgh! Those are worth a lot of money in NYC, just to wash up on the shore like that! I just bought a 250 g resealable tin of them here to other day to treat myself, and it cost $7.99!

I don't know where my multiquote for this went, but congrats to Harley, Debi!

And' don't forget the..."Tom Brady, you just won the Superbowl. What are doing next?" "I'm going to Walt Disney World!"

GO PATS!!!!!!!!

"Eli Manning, you just won the Superbowl . . ." works, too . . .:thumbsup2

Couldn't get Harley to wear the cap...little turd. ;)

We took Jasmine to Petsmart for training too. Since she is Bill's dog the girls and I went because... well we all go everywhere together. Half way through Bill has unexpected open heart surgery and guess who is stuck w/ finishing Jasmine's training??? It was a nightmare. The woman spent 15 minutes after every class telling me what I was doing wrong. Also, I had to pick her up to get in the back of the Yukon. I was NEVER so glad as when that class was over. Today Jasmine is an extremely well behaved trained dog but all the credit goes to Bill. They are completely joined at the hip.

Hi Nicholas.....I was wondering if you guys were still on board! Hope you are doing well!

Hey Nicholas! I'm glad you're still on. Don't be a stranger.

If I remember correctly, you're a lawyer. Just do what Tom does and bill someone for your DIS time. ;)

Thanks to you both. As it gets close one of us will probably be here more and more. We are in the middle of hockey season (my son stepped up a level and his team is playing independent so we travel even more!!) I also took on teaching an extra course at the law school to cover for someone who is taking the semester off to finish his book. I think I was crazy to do it, but it IS extra $$$ for the TOAL!!!

Good memory--I am a lawyer. I am actually at work right now. Listening to the Super Bowl over the internet and taking a mental break on the DIS. Fortunately or unfortunately most of my clients are on a contingent fee. No more time keeping!!! (Those of you who have had to account for every 15 or 6 minutes of your day know what a relief that is!!!  )

Tuesday I am presenting my first oral argument to the Ohio Supreme Court. I have been there before as "second chair" but first time to stand up and take the heat. I will be so glad when Tuesday is over. I have two more scheduled in March but getting the first one out of the way is the big thing right now.

Best wishes to all.

Nicholas.

This is not a true statement ...When we did the Med Repo , we left Tenerife and didnt have Pirate Night for 3 Nights After ...which means the Fireworks were on board for alot longer then you think ...and Also could have been on even longer ....So , Fireworks are NOT an issue when it comes to the planning of Pirate night and leaving a Port ..

pirate:

Remember, Disney is one of the pioneers in fireworks technology. Some of their recent changes (air powered launch, etc.) have increased the safety of the fireworks.

I'll do an informal Electrical Parade spot meet - will set the day once I know when we are flying down.:goodvibes The Electrical Parade is an absolute must do on my list. :cool1: We usually get hot dogs from Award Weiners and then go to a spot near PT Flea Market by It's Tough to Be A Bug.

This just in from Pheonix:

Super Bowl XVIII just called. They would like their halftime act back.

Sounds good to me -- we always do it, too . . . we watch it across from Golden Dreams, but are fine to meet you up closer to the beginning . . . we are there from Aug. 12th.:goodvibes

I thought Prince was awesome last year. I was surprised that I knew every single Tom Petty song despite never having had a single CD or following his act in any way . . .

I've been watching Puppy Bowl IV instead...much more entertaining.pug: :dogdance: :dog2: :dog:

Over half way through and I've only laughed at 2 1/2 commercials. The lizards dancing to Thriller, WALL.E (w/Buzz and Woody) and a small chuckle at the thought of Richard Simmons getting run over.

Admittedly I missed a few commercials since I was actually doing some housework.

Any ads stick out for any of you?

There was one other that DH and I liked early on - it was for Budweiser and it had a dalmation training a clydsedale to the Rocky theme song. Other than that I've found most of the spots disappointing.
