8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #15 /Life After the PC

Well,

It isn't a permanant job yet but I am starting another temp position tomorrow.

It is an admin position and pays a few dollars an hour more though and there's more of a chance that i could become hired.

I feel just slightly bad about leaving here because i am only able to give one days notice.

(ok bad feeling over) :goodvibes

I had to run an errand downtown yesterday on the same block as my old job. (the one who let me go in July.)

I really don't miss them and I'm glad that the county hiring freeze has shafted that dept because they are not able to re-hire for that position.

Karma i tell ya....

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: I am so happy to hear this!!!!!!

Hey Tom...................Did the Super Shuttle have a pole for you to dance with??:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

That should have come with a warning!!!! I am so glad that I already swallowed!!!! :lmao:

You took the shuttle??? OH MY!!!! If I had known that I would have talked Jon into picking you up Sunday night!!! We were home by 6pm!
What time did you finally get to your hotel????

We landed almost 40 minutes early, had to wait 15 minute for a gate and was in the shuttle by 7:15 and at hotel at 8:30-8:45. I'm pretty sure the guy passed within 2 blocks of the hotel 3 or 4 times.....

He kept asking the passengers for directions.....

At least you got to go on a really cool trip with some great people!

I just have to say, what a great town you have here. I think I got to see most of the greater Dallas area on my Super Shuttle 3 hour tour.....

Oh my! What area of town are/were you staying?
If you landed at DFW, which you probably did, you could have just stayed on the highway rood and 15 mins later been a few blocks from my house. :)
If you are here now, sorry for the cold weather. When they said a cold front was coming in a noon- they hit the nail exactly on the head.

The snow here left at about noon so that makes sense that it's there now. We FINALLY got some snow here (YAY!). Sydney pulled up a chair to the glass back doors and I had to sit next to her and we watched the snow fall for a long time this morning. Guess she doesn't remember snow from last winter! Finally it can be cold enough for us to be glad we're going to WDW next week for Xmas and New Years   It's so hard to get into the Christmas mood without snow, ya know? Well maybe some of you that live around Chicago or equally way too cold places don't :)

It took me 2hours and 30 minutes to get home last night. It was after 7:00 and I left early at 4:30. I hate snow, 3 more winters after this one.:headache:

And if he would have gone South it would take about 20 min to my house, once you leave the airport. ;)

 I hear y'all are serious about visiting!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: I'm a fairly good tour guide! And I have a Margaritaville machine that can make any kind of frozen drink PERFECT! :thumbsup2

It is sooo cold today! But, it is supposed to be around 70 this weekend.
Luckily our cold today doesn't include ice or snow this time!

Yeah like I said, people in Chicago don't appreciate snow like we do... Oh our roads were totally clear and dry by 4:00 yesterday afternoon! That's usually the case... It stays around long enough to appreciate it on the grassy areas, but the roads are clear in no time :) That's the benifit of living at 7500 ft (we actually get snow) and NM (it melts in no time). I'm really hoping that we don't have any problems getting to Chicago in February! We did have a pretty nasty snowstorm when we were there for Easter last year in March.

It was frigid here yesterday! Some freezing rain and a few flakes, just plain cold today. Supposed to warm up for the weekend and then another messy one coming in for Mon. and Tues.

We were downtown, near the infamous warehouse....

Please let Cheryl and I know when you get here. What area will you be visiting?

Thank the Lord the night we had rain it was warm!!!!
Of course Wednesday is the day that I ma OUT all day!! And of course it was/is windy & cold! UGH! We have to leave in a few minutes for rehearsals -- the kids have an early morning show. They have to cut the play for the school day shows so....they have rehearsals to make it FASTER! :headache:

We will be very close to you guys! My in-laws are in Bartlett. I will definately let you guys know when we'll be there. We plan on buying plane tickets after we get back from our WDW trip for Christmas and New Years. Right now, it's about $200 per ticket which is about as cheap as we've ever paid to get from Albuquerque to O'Hare, so I hope they stay that way! Specially since we now have to actually pay for Sydney!

I know that this is directed towards Terri...BUT, I'll be in Mt Prospect in June. :) I think it is the last weekend in June but, I'll double check tomorrow (or Friday).

That's real close, our DD has a house in Bartlett.

I forgot you were coming.
You will also be close to us. Give us the exact dates and we will make sure we meet. You will probably want to go to Woodfield Mall.

I Google mapped our house to yours 957 miles door to door, 15 hours and 43 minutes.

Feel Better Desiree!!!!

Just FYI ........Desiree is in the hospital awaiting a Gall Bladder surgery!! It was more than a tummy ache.:sad2:

Hi everyone!

Thought I would send an update since I am currently out of the hospital..it's been a long week and it's not over yet. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

I thought I had the stomach flu when I left Arizona on Monday...drove home in pretty bad pain and unfortunately vomiting...I just wanted to get home. On Tuesday..it didn't go any better and I went to the ER..turns out my gallbladder is full of stones but the bad party is that all 3 of my ducts were completely blocked with stone and I was turning yellow due to my liver starting to fail. I had a procedure on Wednesday that took care of that and a stint put in. I sat in the hospital until yesterdy waiting to have surgery to remove my gallblader. Unfortunatly, after 4 days in the hospital..I was advised that my local hospital no longer takes our insurance! :scared1: (I already have a bill of over 37K!) This will be a fun fight as they were required to nofiy me immediately. Anyways...I was discharged without the 2nd surgery and will now go to a new hospital next week that does honor the insurance. (They just dropped my insurance a few months ago and we had gone there several times before) Anyways...I am hoping that I do not have much pain until I can get the surgery and then I will go in during Jan or Feb and have the stint removed.

That's it in a nutshell!

When Rich had his operation, the big hospital chain here dropped BCBS. However, since he was getting treatment when they were, they grandfathered him in. Wonder why that didn't happen to you. Glad you are getting some relief

Well that just stinks Desiree! I hope they get you all taken care of quickly.

I was thinking the same thing.

Ah hah!

Well 2008 cannot come to a quick enough end for me.
I am an amazingly healthy person sans this year. Started off w/ my little baby basal cell on my nose which took 5 surgeries. Then women stuff for the next surgery and 2 "procedures" in Nov and now in Wed they are stucking out my female innards (partial hysterectomy). At least I will be all done w/ medical stuff next year.

Hopefully things will be perfect in 2009!

Sorry, I just had to say that sounds exactly like Amazing Race.! :rotfl2:

Hmmmmm. Almost had the A/C on last night.
Today is another story. Warm but windy and carppy out.

All out of surgery and all is well. Actually it was wayyyy too easy.
I was uncomfortable coming out of anesthetia and the oxygen mask always makes me feel clausterphobiac so I ripped it off quickly.
I went in at 8:30, was in my room by 1:00 and at 1:30 they gave me some great knockout drug. That stuff was GOOD!!! When I woke back up and 4:00 I was 95% myself again.
Went home this morning and glad it is over.
