8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #15 /Life After the PC

LOL Ditto that... just read the last 2 pages after replying...

Have you heard more about the storm and the extent of it? My mom seems to be freaking out -she thinks it will affect us (our electricity and such- which is important to her because of her condition. She can't go without electricity so she has the generator which won't last long- so she'd end up in a hospital I suppose- but what if they don't have electricity either?)

Anyway I don't really see how it would affect us here... I imagined that those escaping the effects of the hurricane would be coming TO our area. ?

Right now they are saying that we will just have extra rain. I'm ok with rain. :)

Oops! At least one of those would be me. I still have not convinced Bill to drop everything and download all the pictures. I will work on that next.
Bill has had a few pressing isues waiting for him when we got back.
He is Pres of our HOA. We have a High School right across our street from our subdivision. Since they are doing construction, the kid are parking in our neighborhood. Since we are a fenced neighborhood, they are jumping the 8 foot fence to get to the street and school. The neighbors are getting all upset and one of the cars has a shot gun in their back seat. This is Texas after all and it is not concealed so legal but for Pete's sake! WTH would a HS student need a shotgun in the back of a Firebird for God's sake? Idiots! :sad2:

EEEKK about the gun!!! What kind of parent let's a teenager ride around with one?? :confused3
pictures -- dh started downloading ours with 15min of us getting home. LOL! Within a couple of hours he had put all the pics (from 4 different digital cameras) on all of our computers and our *back up* external hard drive!

I did get a good deal! And please tell Samantha the rosary she brought me from World Youth Day has a place of honor right next to my bed! I really liked that rosary a lot! Since the Hail Mary beads are not separpated, it is more "condensed" than most rosaries. So it's a good size to set next to my bed. Please tell her "thank you" once again from me. I will never forget her (and you)!

And no......Rob has never asked to wear my bra or lipstick! :rotfl: :rotfl: He would kill me if I didn't set the record staright on that one!

We are both so glad that you are happy with it!

I'm happy to hear that about Rob. ;)

If I had a job, I would be so tempted to take this offer. Heck, even without a job, I'm tempted.

12 night Med cruise on NCL, balcony stateroom, with free air from select cities, $1999.
NCL Deal

Oh my!!! And just $200 airfare from our airport........ :::::::I can NOT go any where right now..... I can NOT go anywhere right now....::::::::: I've got to keep telling myself this!!!!

This is a nice story.
The news just reported that after Tony Romo flew home to Dallas from the out of town game Sunday he helped a stranded couple change a flat tire on the way home. They asked him not to tell them the outcome since they TIVO'ed the game. Ha!
That is pretty nice since he the bottom half of his face was all bandaged up. This is the type of person Tom Laundry would be proud of.

I'm not sure where you live in Texas, but Ike is extremely large. The wind field for hurricane and tropical storm force winds is huge and Ike is expected to retain his intensity pretty far inland. This graphic on this page kinda explains it: http://www.skeetobiteweather.com/picservice.asp?t=z&m=09&av=200891114

Anyway, the very best site for information (in my opinion) is http://flhurricane.com/ You might want to take a looksy there. :)

All of those in Ike's path, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Well what can I say!

Well what can I say. We just had a great time on this cruise. It truley was a "Trip of A Lifetime".

Just wanted to thank all of the fantastic people we finally had the chance to meet. You all really enchanced our vacation from start to finish. From the organized functions to every chance meeting in the hallways it truley made for a memorable time.

We'd like to thank all the task force leaders for giving up so much of their time to organize each event.

The picture site is great. Thanks!

After debarkation Disney whisked us away to the Hertz car rental. We rented a mini van and drove back to NYC stopping in North Carolina on the way. The first few days at home were crazy as most everyone can atest to. We made it home safe and sound. Had a week of withdrawal. Then confirmed our booking with Chuck for next August.

Thanks again to everyone. :)

Fellow Pirates, I haven't yet posted since we returned from this magical TOAL. I know that I don't post often and I know that I was fortunate to only meet a handful of you while onboard, but I wanted to thank all those who helped contribute to my families enjoyment of this cruise. This is the first time we have ever participated in the FE gifts, and my kids loved checking to see what goodies were waiting each time we returned to our room! I have also really enjoyed looking at everyone's photos on the photo-sharing website. Thanks so much for sharing!

Now, I hate to be a downer, but if anyone could spare some good thoughts and prayers for us, it would be greatly appreciated. We are planning to evacuate within the hour from Hurricane Ike. We live in SE Houston, and right now things are looking pretty grim for us. I'm not taking any chances, and I don't want my kids to have to experience this hurricane up close so we're planning to head out to either San Antonio or Dallas. The evacuation scares me almost as much as the hurricane. We evacuated to San Antonio three years ago from Rita, and a normally 5 hour drive took us 16 hours, many of those without the a/c in the car running due to the possibility of running out of gas and being stranded on the side of the road (which did happen to many people). Anyways, I hate to bring my worries to the board, but it helps a little to talk about it. I've been trying to be brave for my kids, but it hasn't been real easy. My DS is 10 and my DD is 8 and they're old enough to understand that when we leave, we don't know if we'll have a house to come home to. :sad1:

Think good thoughts for us!
Kim

Kim - good thoughts on the safety of your family and home

You were sitting next to us at dinner in Animator's and your children are all beautiful. One night your little one was happy, playing, full of energy one minute and the next minute sound asleep. We were laughing on how quickly they can nod off remembering our two doing the same at that age.

Thank you Deanna. At least she portrays that when she is away from home :rolleyes1 I have to say that Drew and Kylie are two the sweetest kids that I have ever met. If anyone was going to date Madison, Drew would be the only one that I would allow to and live. I hope I did not scare him too much when he dined with Madison that night. I heard that Tom was giving Madison grief about their "date" :lovestruc

Cherie wants everyone to be our neighbors :grouphug: I hope that we can still be friends after this weekends football game. :lmao:

Roger

Hope you all are well. We had such a great time.

Nicolette asked me if I could contact you to get Madisons email address. Please PM me if possible

Right now they are saying that we will just have extra rain. I'm ok with rain. :)
I'm okay with rain too- since it could be so much worse! We've been having a lot of rain lately anyway, have you?

Okay so I have booked the Disneyland Hotel for the nights of 12th ,13th and 14th , So Saturday the 14th we will make the Date for the DIS meet , now we always go to Disneyland in March to celebrate our Birthdays , and I think Stace does too , so we hope that all that can will join us for the Pirates Reunion and also could be Future Cruisers meet as by then I am sure we will all probably be booked on other cruises after Oct 7th , Speaking of which

It does look like DCL is going to the Baltic so our plan is that we will do the last Baltic cruise and then do the Repo back to Port Canaveral , I am hoping that on the Repo that stops will include Ireland , England and France .. If they do we are so doing back 2 back ....I hope that many of you will be on one of these 2 cruises as I enjoyed many of your guy's company and look forward to seeing you all again ......

So , What say You !!!!

TAKE WHAT YOU CAN !!!!!

Okay I'm still trying to use detective work to figure this all out. LOL
I haven't found the previous posts yet... and I even resorted to looking at our deck maps and all I see is you and your DH.. no kids listed.

*still so confused*

Most definitely!! Unless I get pneumonia again, we WILL be there. Or unless someone cuts their fingers off........ For Disneyland, that is.

If I could work it so that I can fly overseas only once, like you're planning, then I just might do the cruise, too. I've already been offered drugs to help me with the long flight.

This is cruise sounds tempting. Could this be the birth of a new thread?

Captain Jack's transatlantic/Baltic repo?

Miss you too Cheryl!

I sometimes laugh out loud when I think of the fun times we all shared. I keep seeing you whip your hairpiece off.....Oh man, you are hysterical!!!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I remember standing in the doorway outside RBD ..not realizing it was a hairpiece.she scared the carp out of me when she whipped it off! :rotfl2:

I remember ....

Respectfully ....

'MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL'

You say you will never forget where you were when
you heard the news On September 11, 2001.
Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room
with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I
held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the
peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it
is OK..I am ready to go.'

I was with his wife when he called as she fed
breakfast to their children. I held her up as she
tried to understand his words and as she realized
he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a
woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been
knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said.
'Of course I will show you the way home - only
believe in Me now.'

I was at the base of the building with the Priest
ministering to the injured and devastated souls.
I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He
heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat,
with every prayer. I was with the crew as they
were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the
believers there, comforting and assuring them that their
faith has saved them.

I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan ..
I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.
Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew
every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me
for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath.
Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the
smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take
my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.
But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You
may not know why, but I do. However, if you were
there in that explosive moment in time, would you have
reached for Me?

Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey
for you. But someday your journey will end. And I
will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may
be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are
'ready to go.'

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

Ok..this matters to no one but me but...  doing the doc dance!!

TA just called..the docs came in while I was gone for our weekend cruise that is coming up...it won't be nearly as fun without this group tho....

Hey Coral! I loved Tom Laundry, he was so classy. Always in a suit during games. I miss the old timers! Hope you guys don't get it too bad from Ike!

Sure Todd, put vacation ideas in my head! :lmao: It's not like I would need much prompting to plan another cruise. Baltic for sure, trans-Atlantic, not sure.

There was a dad at dd's dance class and we started talking about cruises and he has done the Baltic on RCL. He said it was great. I asked if the ships were covered like the ships that do Alaska and he said no. He said it was quite warm during his cruise.

Ok..this matters to no one but me but...  doing the doc dance!!

I'm glad for you! If I can't go on another vacation, glad that someone else can.

I put in my vacation request for Dec 22 & 23 and Jan 2, so looks like I'll get another 2 weeks off this year!
