I'll meet you when you board. I'm staying on for the five day cruise as well! :)

Just stopping in to see if anyone is posting while on the cruise. I guess not much! LOL
I understand... I didn't even pull out the laptop and sign up for internet until yesterday!
No live report from me... just don't have the time nor the internet minutes (LOL) plus I've noticed if I type more than 3 minutes then the internet connection is terminated and I have to log in again and start over on my post or pm or email or whatever I was doing. so it's quick and short for me. LOL But I am writing in my journal every day and hopefully THIS TIME I'll actually post a trip report afterwards.... ya think? we'll see...... only time will tell. :lmao:

We're having a great time.... right now everyone is asleep except for me waiting up for my ST (Ruby) to get her hiney in her room so i can go to bed. I'm actually tired before 3am- imagine that! :rotfl:

Can't believe it is FINALLY here! We're up and almost ready to go (fastest time this week . . .LOL). It was terrific meeting lots of cruisers at Fantasmic. Thanks to Monica (GOT2TRAVEL) for saving so much space with those FIVE blankets and her wonderful pirate flag.

See everyone in a bit!

I second that!
Monica so totally rocks!!!!
*duuuude*

;)

WOW!

When I arrived back to the stateroom, there was the lithograph that Ducky Williams was speaking of at his talk the other day. This thing is HUGE -- we're talking "How do I get this thing home without creasing it?" huge! The lithograph, pictured below, was accompanied by a card with the following sentiment:

From the Cast, Crew and Officers of Disney Cruise Line:

We are pleased you have joined us on this 15-night journey aboard the
beautiful Disney Magic. Our voyage from California to Florida will
take us through many exciting ports-of-call, including passage through
the Panama Canal.

To add to the many memories you will undoubtedly have from this
adventure, please enjoy this commemorative lithograph.

Best Regards,
/s/ Tom Forberg

BOOM.

KABOOM.

MORE BOOMS!

As they say on the Jungle Cruise at Disney: "Ladies and Gentlemen, the backside of water!"

Yep. The 30% forecast for thunderstorms has caught up to us in full force. Lightning is all around and very close, booming like mad. You can see from the pictures above taken from the veranda that it's certainly not very clear out anymore. We are about 20 minutes away from going through our last set of locks but I do not think we are going to have much of a vantage point for them. Oh well, two sets of locks out of three wasn't bad. We take what we get. Not much more than that to do.

Fr. Mike,

I want to thank you for you lovely mass on Sunday.

My wife has also attended some of your weekday masses as well.

Regards,
Sil

This port may have stole the show...

In my opinion... this port was this highlight port thus far.

I think that those who stayed on board out of whatever fears they may have had missed out on some lovely architecture and scenery.

And unlike some other ports, the excursions were fabulously run.

And the Cartagena govt has folkloric band / dancers there to greet us at the port and were giving out fruit trinkets to us cruisers... they really went all out...

Bravo!

I have to agre with Sil! Our family loved Cartagena. We really felt welcome, and loved our tour of the city. There is so much history and beautiful architecture to see.

We plan on stopping by guest services to let them know how much we enjoyed it, and that we hope that they add this port to some special itineraries in the future.

Wow. I'm glad to hear that.

There seemed to be several complainers about the port of call yesterday. I think it may have been the excursion that they did or did not take, though. I did the "Best of Cartagena" and, although I came back drenched from the heat/humidity, thoroughly enjoyed the time myself. I'm glad that you all had great experiences there as well.

I'm looking forward to the submarine in Aruba tomorrow! :)

Sunrise, 6:30 a.m. / Sunset, 6:53 p.m.
Evening Attire: Cruise Casual
Dinner Menu: Lumiere's - Master Chef: A menu created by our world-famous chefs

Presently, it is 2:30 p.m.

Very relaxed day at sea today.

Mass was at 8:30 a.m. It was such a lazy morning that I came back to the stateroom after Mass and took an hour's nap! That is so unusual for me, but there was not much stirring on the ship yet. I think a lot of passengers were sleeping in because it was a sea day and also because they lost an hour's sleep due to the time change last night.

As of 2:30 p.m., here are some statistics:
Weather is "partly cloudy"
Temperature is 89.6 degrees
Humidity is 50%
Sea conditions are "slight"
Distance from Port of Los Angeles: 3486 nautical miles
Distance from Port of Cartagena: 175 nautical miles
Distance to Oranjestad (Arruba): 205 nautical miles
Present speed: 9.2 knots
We are in the Caribbean Sea where the water is a delightful blue color, skies are blue and very cloudy.

I saw WALL-E at the Buena Vista Theatre this afternoon. Certainly was a different kind of movie. Plenty of message, that is for sure.

From 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Ducky Williams will be available for anyone who wants his autograph from staterooms on Decks 1 & 6. Because they are expecting a lot of people to attend, they are limiting the autographs to two pieces. I am hoping to get him to sign the lithograph that was presented to us. I am still trying to figure out how I am going to get it home without damaging it. I tell you this, if I can, it will definitely be framed and hung on my office wall!

Tonight's entertainment? Siegfried & Roy present Darren Romeo: The Voice of Magic. He has been named Show of the Year for two years in a row by Branson Critic Awards, Magician of the Year by the Academy of Magical Arts, and Entertainer of the Year by the International Magicians Society. From all that I have heard from some of the crew, this is most definitely not a show to miss.

For now, that is about all. I am going to post this and hope to give you some ideas about the show later. Have a great day!

We didn't even do an excursion in Cartegena (we cancelled our los americas excursion- long story why...) and even we think it was one of the best (we couldn't really say it's better than us finally swimming with dolphins and sea lions though LOL)
We thought it was WAY COOL how they greated us with the band/dancers (and even saw they had camera crews there as well)- and they gave out balloons and pinwheels and fruit/etc. It was definitely a warm welcome. And they had shuttle busses even to just take you to the terminal- even though it wasn't that long of a walk (we took the busses LOL Hey it was free!)
We didn't even get further than the terminal... but we shopped at the store they had there and all got trinkets/etc. and we got some coffee at the Juan Valdez store (for my expresso loving sister) and best of all -the biggest surprise for me was getting a rough cut emerald pendant necklace- which I love!
So we didn't do much- but I've heard lots of good things from most everyone I've talked to that did excursions.
Oh and I thought the aprons the ladies were wearing were cute- they said Cartegena, the only risk is you'll want to stay. Cute huh? hehe

Does anyone know what the hours are for the Fitness Center are on the ship?

Count us in as loving Cartegena also! The history was amazing, the people were welcoming. Everything was wonderful! I would love to come her again!
OK, better go! Don't want to get in trouble again for running us out of minutes!

ETA: Fitness Center hours are 6:30am-8:00pm

Hello Shipmates!!!!

OMG CC tomorow, already, it's been a great trip. The doors are fantastic... All of the islands have been wonderful. Columbia is very nice, my son was interviewed by a local reporter, and she asked how he liked Columbia, he gave good reviews, it helped the reporter was cute.
Everyone of the crew has been great. We were invited to PALOS for Aruba nite to dine with Christian, Shannon and Scott (HR Guy) Chrsitains Mom's on board so she was with us telling some of his childhood stories when he left the room to attend to the show with the two girls AJ & Alley, I think they are.
The crew talent show was a hoot. Very funny. The magcian was good, needed more magic and less singing.

Well here's to a Great time thank you all, and wishing everyone a safe trip home.

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning - we'll be there early!!

David
