What makes it even better is DH & I got married at Castaway in 2004.:thumbsup2 Great, Magical memories for us.

Last night dh asked me if I thought Samantha (our 17dd!!!) would want to get married in CC or in WDW. :rotfl2: I told him WDW (GF w/carriage) but, I think we have a few years. :rotfl:

Hey Everyone,

We made it to California safely. Even Nicky survived, although I wasn't too sure he was going to make it after the second 3 & 1/2 hour flight. He was bouncing off the walls by the time we finally arrived.

We're at the Disneyland Hotel. Here's the view from our room:

Loved the pics! And I'm sure after the flight with 3 kids y'all deserved a drink!!! LOL!

With less than 48 hours to departure, I figure it was finally time to start packing. Mind you, I've been throwing stuff in a pile for the past week or so, but it was finally time to see if it fit.

Not even close.

Worse, it's not enough to fill the luggage - I have to take into account now the problem of coming home. Yes, some of what I'm bringing is "last use" disposable (one pair of shoes, and consumables), but I also have to allow for the fact that a certain amount of my cruise wardrobe will be stuff I buy on the cruise (I'm a sucker for T-Shirts, sweatshirts, etc - about 80% of my T-Shirts are Disney park or DCL wear).
And being an (all too) experienced traveler, I know that I'll inevitably bring too much anyway. So next came the pruning. A lot of pruning.

Hope all those in transit have safe trips.

That is us!!! I buy TONS of clothing items on the ship and at CC!!

QIGONG

My Father in Law has asked me to offer:

If anyone is interested in learning more about the Chinese healing techniques and holistic approaches related/associated - my FIL would like to offer courtesy treatment sessions and informal fact finding meetings on the ship. He's a retired chest surgeon who has practiced for decades in the greater Pittsburgh area - and now resides in Honolulu. Anyone so interested can PM me = and I'll keep you advised as to when they he will host meetings. he may lead Chinese style early morning exercise sessions too. He has been doing all this in Honolulu for many years.

I was expecting / thinking he might conduct his meetings in the promenade lounge and off the fantail on the secret verandah deck 7? Here's a photo below with Sam on the far right: If you're interested and spot him on the ship - just stop him and ask about his session plans:

How generous!!! And that sounds like something that I may be interested in....

OMG!

48 more min. till my vacation starts.

I feel like doing a snow angel in the middle of the nurses station here in the er.

:lmao: :lmao:

Today is my Friday   :yay: :yay: So to all those leaving early safe trip to everyone. Cheryl and I will be on our way 8:00 am Saturday. Wish we were there now.

Some of you we will see Saturday night, the rest on Sunday. Can't wait to meet all of you. Oh yeah please don't encourage Cheryl to be getting up on the tables. :dancer:  the insurance won't cover her falling off.
John

We'll catch her! ;)

The problem is they don't want it on airplanes. DH told me last night that if we had shipped it *ground* there would have been no problem. But, we shipped it *select* (which may or may not use airpalnes depending on the circumstances). They do NOT want those cans in your luggage.

We are leaving the *continuous spray* cans at home. We will not take a chance that they will mess with our luguagge. :)

We even had the correct documents with it and we should have allowed to ship it any way we wanted. But, the airlines have the last say.

I've been packing this same type of sunblock for years and never had a problem before now.......

I've flown with the continuous spray cans lost of times. Never had an issue???

I totally understand your concern. The military doesn't care about your personal life. When dh was still in the military, there were about 4 Mother's Days in a row where he was out of town on duty. I said to him once, "Don't they realize you have a wife and kids?" He said the military's response would be "Hey, we didn't issue you a wife and kids."

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope you don't have to kill someone.

It would suck if he couldn't go because of a deployment, but I would at least pretend to understand, it is part of what we both signed up for (him when he joined and me when I married him) - but a meeting with someone who will still be in the same building after TOAL??? For once in my life I would be the irrational ranting screaming wife on the phone to the commanding officer.:rotfl:

Worst thing DH has missed was our 1st anniversary. I think he's missed a few Mother's Days, but it isn't my thing anyway.

"Hey, we didn't issue you a wife and kids."
Ya know the boot camp thing - "This is my rifle. There are many like it but this one is mine," "This is my rack (bed). There are many like it but this one is mine," and on and on????

Well, more than once we were both known to mutter "This is my baby. There are many like it, but this one is mine," when the kids were little.

right there with you....went to bed at 5am, back up at 7am...I have really messed up my sleep cycle...I've been staying up later and later recently....hope I don't crash and sleep through the cruise

Not a chance Monica! We would miss you!

I kow what you mean. I don't usally sleep much anyway but it's even less now.

Are you leaving today? I thought you posted a few days ago you were leaving either today or tomorrow. Have a safe trip down!

Looks like we will start driving tonight. The bags are just about packed. Just need to do the carry ons. All depends on whether or not I get the house in order this morning. Will be picking up the rental van in a few hours. We'll probaby drive as far as Buttonwillow tonight, then on down tomorrow. Depending on timing may stop at Pinks along the way.

Last night dh asked me if I thought Samantha (our 17dd!!!) would want to get married in CC or in WDW. :rotfl2: I told him WDW (GF w/carriage) but, I think we have a few years. :rotfl:

Careful, it sneaks up very fast. When we got married, DW's little sister was 12. Now lil-sis is getting married at GF in Feb next year - where did the intervening 12 years go :rolleyes1

Our own DD(7) will be the flower girl.

Hola everyone! This time tomorrow we will be sitting in Chicago waiting for the plane to CA. Got my A boarding passes from SWA, so we are all set. I have about 80% of the packing done. (Not very organized, but in one spot!) Looks like 2 checked bags for each of us and two rolling carry-ons + laptop. this should be fun, especially at LAX!!! :scared1:

Hope everyone has safe travels and see everyone real soon!

Good luck with all the luggage!!

We aren't dressing either!

Naked dining?? :scared1:

M took the words right out of my mouth! :rotfl2: Please NO naked people at dinner or the Pirate party!

We won't have pirate costumes either. DH wouldn't be caught dead in any kind of costume. He actually told me he wants to put a bag over his head so I don't embarass him with all this DIS nonsense.:rotfl: :confused3 :rotfl: I will try to talk him into at least wearing our pirate t-****s. I have some jewelry, a bandana and an eye patch that I might wear with some denim capris.

Why or why do the minutes seem like hours this week? Where is the time fairy? :sad2: I am not sleeping well either. DH just keeps asking why I am so "uptight". Yea, like you planned any of this cruise or did anything other than pack your clothes and the cameras (which aren't together yet and he has to get some videos off the hard drive of the camcorder :headache:). I really do love him but...15 days in confined quarters might lead to someone going overboard.:lmao:

Then he'll meet us and discover that we are really fun people and not ax murderers or anything! LOL!

I never used the spray can before. I did buy one can and was planning on putting it in DH luggage. I would of couse put it in a ziploc bag. Do you think I will have any problems?:confused3

Smart move puttin git in your dh's suitcase....then they'll leave your alone! :lmao:

In the past I've had no problem. This was the first time we had a problem and I won't take the chance with our luggage.

OK. Shutting down the laptop now.

About the gather up the dog and the kid and head over to drop off the dog and pick up my brother. He's taking me to pick up the rental van and then keeping my car while we're gone. Once I get home I'll load up the van, do a last lap around the house cleaning up a bit, then hit the road.

Will post again as we are on our way out.

Me either. But, I'm not taking a chance of them messing with my suitcase! LOL!
DH said there are a bunch of new regulations when it comes to transporting any type of liquid.

Mine either. I'm dh's mother....... I thought it was so wierd when a good friend got all bent out of shape when her dh didn't get her a *good enough* gift for mother's day... Dh has never given me a gift for Mother's day...ANd I don't buy him gifts for Father's day...he'a not my dad! LOL!
