:grouphug:

I don't like my hair color/cut much either. She didn't listen to me when I said it would be too light.

And as I was backing out of the driveway today, I hit the neighbors car.:scared1: There is never a car there....well, there was one there once before and I hit that too.:rotfl2:

They had to move it from their driveway for something. I saw it there all morning, but never made a mental note when I was leaving. Nothing too bad, but their bumped is plastic and it cracked it. I'll take care of it when we get back. Who knows...maybe they will get into a little fender-bender before then with someone else.:rolleyes1

UGH! I'm so sorry that happened!!! How frustrating!!!

You found it:yay: :yay: ...........it was the one by Joe Jones!!!:cool1: :cool1: You talk too much you worry me to death!!:cheer2: :cheer2:
How many other people can say they had a song written about them.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Me!

DESIREE
Written by Neil Diamond
It was the third of June
On that younger day
Well I became a man
At the hands of a girl
Almost twice my age
And she came to me
Just like a morning sun
And it wasn't so much
Her words as such
As the way they were sung
It was the way they were sung

Desiree
Oh, Desiree
There I was found
By the sweet passion sound
Of you loving song
Time was right, the night was long
Remember, Desiree
Oh Desiree
Somehow I knew
I could only have you
'Til the morning light
If only for that single night
Sweet Desiree, you made it right.

Then came the fourth of June
On that sleepless night
Well I tossed and I turned
While the thought of her burned
Up and down my mind
For she was there and gone
Without one regret
But she continues on
Like the words of a song
I could not forget
I could not forget

Desiree
Oh, Desiree
There I was found
By the sweet passion sound
Of your loving song
Time was right, the night was long
Remember, Desiree
Oh, Desiree
And though somehow I knew
I could only have you
'Til the morning light
The night was long, the time was right
Do you remember, Desiree

1977 Stonebridge Music (ASCAP)

Not that I found it amusing at that time (being in grade school and all)..and yes..I got tired of people singing it to me.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers....the service is on Friday but I won't be able to go back (it's in Michigan).

With less than 48 hours to departure, I figure it was finally time to start packing. Mind you, I've been throwing stuff in a pile for the past week or so, but it was finally time to see if it fit.

Not even close.

I still have a ton of things to do and need every minute of the next <two days.

Hope all those in transit have safe trips.

LOL...I keep looking at my growing piles and wondering how its going to work!! and I need every minute I have left too.

QIGONG

My Father in Law has asked me to offer:

If anyone is interested in learning more about the Chinese healing techniques and holistic approaches related/associated - my FIL would like to offer courtesy treatment sessions and informal fact finding meetings on the ship.
Wow, that is very cool! It is all very interesting to me!

OMG!

48 more min. till my vacation starts.

I feel like doing a snow angel in the middle of the nurses station here in the er.
ohhh, another kodak moment.....:dance3:

gruble grumble grumble
This was my 4th night of only 5 hours of sleep.
grumble grumble grumble

I thought you would enjoy the e-mail exchange DH and I had this morning...

First he frowarded an e-mail he received from his boss. Someone way up his chain of command is visiting on August 21. The e-mail contained this line:

His response to the meeeting organizer:

My response to DH:

DH's response to me:

So Tom, do you know any good lawyers?? :)
Grandma Chris? How's the Pirate Queen at defense?

Not even funny!! (lol...well it kind of is the way you wrote it..)

Just checking in..

Safe travels to those who are leaving..

I am sooo jealous but I guess someone has to hold the thread together ..:lmao:

I got home and each one of the boys commented to me.. "oh, you got your hair cut. new style??" they were trying to be polite.. normally ( on the good haircut cyle) they don't even notice or say anything.. but not this time..

:confused3 ;) when people meet me I know that they will smile and say hi but under their breath will be "wow, look at that bad haircut"..;) :confused3 or maybe I'll just wear a hat or a tiara...:wizard: :bride: princess:
hey, most of us won't know any better when we meet you...so no worries! and worst case....the fresh, salty sea air will ruin most nice hair doo's anyway!

A last minute request for some prayers....

I just rec'd a phone call that my favorite cousin passed away. She was only 50. The doctors found a blood clot and had her resting..seems she got up to use the restroom and the clot let loose and went to her heart.

If you could remember my family in your thoughts and prayers..it would be appreciated.
oh Desiree....I'm SO sorry to hear this! Hugs & prayers to you guys!!

Des, this SAME THING just happened to my cousin about 6 months ago. It's so scary! Goes to show you, we are never guaranteed tomorrow.

Prayers for you and the family.

With all of this talk about people dying -- I'm really NOT trying to make light of anyone dying -- I was telling dh about LaTanya's father dying and that she had to cancel her ressie.

He turned to me and said *Why*

me *Her father died and the funeral is on Sunday.*

dh *So. Is being there going to bring him back?*

me *No....*

dh *The only way I'm cancelling is if I'm dead.*

me*If your father or mother died you would still leave - before the funeral?*

dh *Yep. Neither one of them like funerals anyway. The only person that would be angry at me is my brother. So, who cares.*

I'm pretty sure he would still go if I DIED! :scared:

Stephen Foster wrote the original lyrics in 1847.
I come from Alabama
With my banjo on my knee
I'm going to Louisiana,
My true love for to see

It rained all night
The day I left
The weather it was dry
The sun so hot,
I froze to death
Susanna, don't you cry

Oh, Susanna,
Oh don't you cry for me
For I come from Alabama
With my banjo on my knee

I had a dream the other night
When everything was still
I thought I saw Susanna
A-coming down the hill

The buckwheat cake
Was in her mouth
The tear was
In her eye
Says I, I'm coming from the south
Susanna, don't you cry

Oh, Susanna,
Oh don't you cry for me
For I come from Alabama
With my banjo on my knee

Prayers for you and the family.

My maternal grandmother was 47 when she died of a blood clot. :sad2:

Here's mine from the late 60's by the Cuff Links

(Lee Pockriss and Paul Vance)

Bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah

Tracy, when I'm with you
Somethin' you do
Bounces me off the ceiling
Tracy, day after day
When you're this way
I get a lovin' feelin'

Come with me
don't say "No"
Hold me close
Tracy never let go

Tracy, you're gonna be
Happy with me
I'll build a world around you
Filled with love everywhere
And when you're there
You'll be so glad I found you

Come with me, don't say "No"
Hold me close
Tracy, never, never, ever let me go

Bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah

Come with me, don't say "No"
Hold me close,
Tracy, never, never, ever let me go

Bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah
bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah
Never let me go
bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah
Tracy, never let me go

Bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah

Classic lyrics, huh? :lmao: :lmao:

See Andy - that is why your so cool! :thumbsup2
Well, that and you got all the neat knicknacks! :rotfl2:

great pic:thumbsup2

Laura, you are standing next to 2 teenage girls and a pre-teen, not a good way to judge size:sad2:
You look like a woman:flower3:

You Know Laurie - your right! OK - let me break out into song. OK all - you can all join me:

:rolleyes1

MAN! I feel like a WOMAN.....

You look BOOTY-FULL!!!!!!!

Thanks again for the ride and the companionship -- you are the best!:thumbsup2

No Prob Julie- Happy to help! ;)

As for the booty-ful part - I'm just happy I still have one at my age. ;)
BTW, Forgot to tell you - or did I? My brain was fried - Pam said hi. See you real soon.

Hey speak for yourself!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Who lnows what I have in my six suitcases!!!

Ok, so....I'm nice and not an ax murderer and I won't speak for anyone else! :lmao:

Good thing he doesn't read the boards. He is scared enough of you guys.:rotfl: He asked me to tell everyone he is a deaf mute so he doesn't have to talk to anyone. (he really isn't that bad, he just likes to give me a hard time)

Not a lot of work getting done this week. I have a presentation I will be giving when I get back and I just can't concentrate on putting together the PowerPoint slides. Maybe I can just do a slide presentation of the cruise. Hey, I can show the work we are doing on the Panama Canal. Unfortunately it is supposed to be about the wonderful world of records management. Yippie. Not exactly exciting stuff.

:And as I was backing out of the driveway today, I hit the neighbors car.:scared1: There is never a car there....well, there was one there once before and I hit that too.:rotfl2:

Been there done that. Only I was 16 and ran into my neighbors custom van with my dad's car. :sad2: Almost twenty years later, he still points out every car parked on the street when I visit him.

A last minute request for some prayers....

Oh Des, that's terrible. :grouphug:

And I was so upset with dd on Monday. Went in her drawers to find a few more clothing items, and found a disaster! I mean dirty clothes mixed in with clean clothes, mixed with doll clothes, mixed with random things like crayons, nailpolish, toys, etc. So, I had to empty them all out and wash everything. Five loads later........

I finally feel like I am getting a handle on the packing now.

I see it on a weekly basis and I'm still not sure what is worse:
A. dirty clothes shoved into the dresser
2. clean, folded clothes from last week in the laundry hamper

I spent last Monday morning as ranting-screaming-Mommy. DSs were going to hockey camp - lots of gear + 2 changes of clothes + lunch, water bottle, snack, etc. Well as we are walking out the door, both DSs are wearing their awful, old skateboarder type shoes - the kind that have laces but they never tie. Anyway, the kids needed their running shoes for off-ice training. Nowhere to be found. We tore the house apart.

DS9's shoes were shoved between the couch and end table in the living room. DS8 had one shoe in the play room (downstairs) and one shoe in his underwear drawer (upstairs). :confused3 Now, his underwear drawer is in his closet. Conveniently located about 3 inches from his shoe rack. He actually had to expend MORE energy to open the drawer, put the shoe in and close the drawer than he would have if he had just set the shoe on the rack.

This is why I took away everything the kids need for the cruise last weekend. Even their shoes.

Me!

I bet you can guess my least favorite Beatles song.

Not even funny!! (lol...well it kind of is the way you wrote it..)

It's how I cope.

RadioClash Lisa arranged months ago to come even if she is dead.

I don't have time for all the lyrics but you all remember this one.....

Tell Laura, I love her.....
Tell Laura, I need her......
Tell Laura not to cry......
My love for her.........

Will never die!

(However, if DH doesn't pack until Saturday because of these stapid poker tournaments, I'm going to kill him and then he can really sing this in death!) :rotfl2:

OK - got to get of this darn forsaken thing, I have to go pick up DD's schedule, make a payment, go to Sam's Club and then go and drop in on my hairdresser to see if she can fit me in. I cancelled my workout appt today thank God but we shall see if I get anything accomplished.

As for my FE gifts, I finished them last night but now have to work on the 5-day. I know I keep telling myself - I can work on them on the cruise but you know - I tend to be a bit anal about somethings. And since I'm not getting any help from DH, I just plod along and get it done. I'm thinking up of all kinds of punishments being the pirate: wench I am. :rotfl2:

Maybe I'll leave the aftershave behind? NAW - not good enough, maybe I'll spend all kinds of $$ on the furr kids.......NAW - already did that - he didn't blink an eye :scratchin: ok - someone help me out here? Anyone?

Oh yeah - remember all the spot that my dog Isis freaked out at on Saturday? We walked by it again this time - DH wanted to see if she freaked out - against my better judgement - we walked by it and ::yes:: she freaded out again - not as bad but definitely a spot we need to avoid. Poor Baby! I think she had an accident - her tail was a bit wet.

Ok - off to St. Pauls to pick up schedule and sell books. Dang! This dog is snoring. I've heard her in the past but lordy! She's snoring! Its noon time!

You Know Laurie - your right! OK - let me break out into song. OK all - you can all join me:

Laura, I thought of you this morning. The alarm goes off and what is on the radio? The Pointer Sisters "I'm So Excited"...and I just can't hide it. I'm about to lose control and I think I like it. DH couldn't understand why I was laughing so hard and singing along at 6 o'clock in the morning.:rotfl: Of course I had been awake since 5 AM.

Hey Terri - we'll just stick him with my DH - he acts that way too until someone asks him a question and then I kick him under the table to answer. So you know - there's strength in numbers......

Death is such a relative thing, can't we have Peter pronounce him early on in the cruise and we can bring him back to life by the time we get to Florida :confused3
