Hola everyone! This time tomorrow we will be sitting in Chicago waiting for the plane to CA. Got my A boarding passes from SWA, so we are all set. I have about 80% of the packing done. (Not very organized, but in one spot!) Looks like 2 checked bags for each of us and two rolling carry-ons + laptop. this should be fun, especially at LAX!!!

I will be bringing six too!!! What airline are you flying on??? Wave as you go over my house.

We won't have pirate costumes either. DH wouldn't be caught dead in any kind of costume. He actually told me he wants to put a bag over his head so I don't embarass him with all this DIS nonsense. I will try to talk him into at least wearing our pirate t-****s. I have some jewelry, a bandana and an eye patch that I might wear with some denim capris.

Why or why do the minutes seem like hours this week? Where is the time fairy? I am not sleeping well either. DH just keeps asking why I am so "uptight". Yea, like you planned any of this cruise or did anything other than pack your clothes and the cameras (which aren't together yet and he has to get some videos off the hard drive of the camcorder ). I really do love him but...15 days in confined quarters might lead to someone going overboard.

Tell Brett be prepared for anything at our table!!!

Good morning everyone! It's set to be a beautiful 87 degrees in SoCal, so for those of you already here, enjoy. We will be going to DL tomorrow, but can't stay late enough for the parade meet. Hopefully we'll see some familiar t-shirts while we're walking around.

Oh my gosh that's funny. Maybe not for your DH. The VP of my old DH company was set to go on the may repo. They planned far in advance well 3 months before they were to leave............he had to cancel for a 3 day meeting. Guess where he is now? He was let go 3 months after DH. Now I am not saying that's going to happen to your DH by any stretch...........This company was bought out and well they didn't put any of the " Big Shots" into the budget.

Well, DH is in the Coast Guard, so it would actually take WW III for his "company" to be bought out. Let's hope that doesn't happen for all of our sake.

Although, unlike a civilian job, if he is ordered to cancel an 18-day vacation to attend a 45 minute meeting & he doesn't...he won't get fired, he'll end up in jail.

Seriously, his leave was approved a month ago. He should be OK. Although the "your own death is the only excuse" thing has me a bit concerned.

After that shot, I'm not even pitching in for bail money.....

I wouldn't dish it out if I didn't know you could take it.

Safe travels to those who are leaving..

I am sooo jealous but I guess someone has to hold the thread together ..

Well yesterday was not my day.. after the mishap with the wallet, I went and got a hair cut and color after work.. and she was consistant.. good hair cut, bad haircut, good hair cut , bad haircut.. consistant..

I got home and each one of the boys commented to me.. "oh, you got your hair cut. new style??" they were trying to be polite.. normally ( on the good haircut cyle) they don't even notice or say anything.. but not this time..

when people meet me I know that they will smile and say hi but under their breath will be "wow, look at that bad haircut".. or maybe I'll just wear a hat or a tiara...

then I got home and went to plug my laptop into the internet and get on chat and the thread but the internet was down.. DH looked at it and then Geoff (DS#1) and concluded that the router was fried... so no internet for me.. but I must have looked so sad with my bad haircut and sad face that they felt sorry for me and DH went to get a new router.. so Geoff has a project today to get it working...

7:30 am meeting and so the day goes... but only 3 days until TOAL

I know just how you feel..mine is consistant too..luckily..I ended on the better note this time..even tried a new style and it came out ok..last time ...I kept reminding her this time.."it's really important..I am renewing my vows" I think I drove her insane..took her forever but atleast it came out better then last time (maybe it isn't a good hair cut..maybe it's just not as bad as last time)

I am hoping to appeal to some techno savvy s. I am trying to load some songs on a MP3 player for my DD as a birthday surprise...for the trip. I was able to download them through MP3 Suite, but then I am unable to drag them over to the actual player. Any ideas? I am on such a time line....and so illiterate when it comes to this stuff. It would be such a great surprise for her...if I can get it to work.

Hello I am sure you look great. No worries and we all won't think that. I haven't even got my hair done but got my nails done. The first thing that DH says why did you pick that color. So, I think everyone will look at me like yucky color. He thought I was going to have blue to match my dress lol. I got red with a flower on it. LOL

Oh, well we are going to have the time of ourlives no worries.

I totally understand your concern. The military doesn't care about your personal life. When dh was still in the military, there were about 4 Mother's Days in a row where he was out of town on duty. I said to him once, "Don't they realize you have a wife and kids?" He said the military's response would be "Hey, we didn't issue you a wife and kids."

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope you don't have to kill someone.

Tip for those that are still around............ I just finished getting my mat ready to be signed. If you get painters tape ( purple good for 30 days ) and tape around the edges of mat then you won't get your autographs covered up when framed.

Thanks for the reminder. I got the frame but forgot the tape! Tomorrow will be my 'run around' day..... probably Friday as well. I'll get my waxing done tomorrow, donate blood on Friday plus last minute shopping.
