Not sure if anyone else has posted this before but while updating our ipods for the trip I saw that the Cheetah Girls's new movie One World will premear on 8/22. I wonder if DCL will play this on the ship as well since it is one of their original movies, just not in theaters. My kids have been watching the previews for it on TDC all summer. They would love to see this on the ship.

LOL, another show my DD hasn't been fortunate to see. I asked her the other day if she wanted to view Camp Rock again on the PVR - the answer 'no Daddy', yeah, no Jonas Bros in this house yet. Now HSM is a completely different thing.

I seriously don't know what you're talking about. I'm gonna pm you because I think you may think I'm joking around when i'm not- I'm serious!

I do not have a formal dress either...............I will wear a nice dress. DH will be in a suit and DD will love to wear her dress but DS will be the one with a deep frown and his arms crossed for us making him wear such attire in public!
Anyways, we are not "formal" wear people, none of like to dress up much at all. That being said, I think you should definitely wear your black dress with your tiara and who gives a flip what everyone else thinks? This is a TOAL enjoy it without stressing about what others think of how you look!

I'm not worried about other thinks about how I look- if I was... I'd skip dinner every night. LOL I just didn't know if I should "not participate" in this princess thing if I don't have a princess type dress... is all. Do princesses wear black dresses that aren't formal length? Well this one might... LOL

My formal attire is not very formal, either. I looked and looked....could not find anything I liked! You will be in good company. Don't worry about it!

I got the Wristbands and they look nice! I am sending out the packages today to everyone who wanted them mailed. I will bundle up the rest this weekend and than I will know how any I have left if anyone who didn't order any would like some.

Don't be too super concerned about formal nights. On our last cruise, I chose NOT to bring any formal wear. I figured we just eat at topsiders on formal night. When we told our servers we weren't going to be in the dining room, they got all upset and told us it really didn't matter. Most folks wouldn't be dressed up either (at least not FORMALLY). So I had a longer dress and DH wore his suit jacket. Our boys were just in their polo shirts and khakis. I must say I was totally shocked at what most folks wore. We were well above the norm. There was even a few MEN in shorts!!! Now mind you that was a January cruise, but still.

Well, I said all that to share . . .just wear what you think works for that night! Don't worry what others think (like the guys in the shorts . .. .LOL). Go and enjoy!!

Thanks for the reassurance. I was just thinking about the night when everyone (atleast those participating on this cruise) is wearing super formal dresses, gloves- the works.... if I'd stick out like a sore thumb. LOL

Apparently Crash has problems with recall when it comes to that day. No, you were not there and he along with a few others said some entirely inappropriate things when a webmaster showed up to deal with the STs who they had been allerted to. That should be water under the bridge by now though.

Okay. I'm totally lost on what he's talking about but this isn't the first time he's mentioned it- he's mentioned it many times and I haven't a clue what he's talking about. Seriously!

BIP...as everyone else has posted noone is going to care what anyone else is wearing to dinner. Wear whatever you want / feel comfortable with. This is NOT worth stressing over.

I'm not talking about dinner! I'm talking about the princess night and ballroom under the stars where everyone is talking about wearing very formal gowns, gloves, and tiaras...

So I did finally manage to speak to a nurse at the pediatrician's office & DD had her Tetanus last year & DS isn't due till next so the nurse felt they were all set. She said they really only start them on other treatments if they are going to be away from the touristy areas, but if I'm really concerned I can speak to the doctor next week. I have a feeling he's just going to reiterate what she said & I know others have said the same thing here, so I think I'll just leave it as is & be extra careful about washing our hands, cleaning any minor cuts or bites immediatly, etc. I think I'll bring some anti-bacterial wipes & a small first aid kit for when we're out & about.

DD12 wants to do that tonite..but we have dentist appts in the morning, and I can't stay up that late these days!! We will pick the book up tomorrow after the dentist.

I think most of us are flying one way.
TSA would have no way of knowing that I am flying to LA on one airline and from MCO on another 2+ weeks later on a different airline.




If we are going all the way to PV by bus, I'm gonna expect a bit more than lunch!

That reminds me - is there an official task force representative at each of the bus locations? Just in case the bus doesn't show up, or the bus shows up and the driver runs away screaming at the sight of 70 pirates and their luggage. Will there be someone who know how to get ahold of you and/or the bus company?


The buses - COACH SKYLINE - will stop at each of the 9 hotels where the (bus) pirates are staying. I spoke w/company rep today and all is good to go!

I usually wear sandals,easier to get off.

I would prefer to wear sandals for this very reason, but because of the luggage restrictions we decided to travel in our "bulkiest" shoes. So, we will be the family that has to step aside and tie our tennis shoes back up.

ATTENTION - PIRATES WHO ORDERED LANYARDS​

I know..here it is again but I really would like to hand out as many of these as possible before hand. I have added (because I forgot!) I also have Saturday morning (16th) - I will be at the GC hotel (and awake) from 7:00- 9:30 AM. DL Park opens at 8:00 and CA opens at 10:00 AM. If you will be going to the park that morning..you can come by and pick up your lanyards.

Also..I will be in the DL park on Friday from approx 1-5PM. If you will be in the park that day and will to meet me...please send me a PM and I will give you my cell #. Otherwise..here is the info again.


I have 78 envelopes of lanyards/partches to hand out to my fellow pirates who ordered lanyards...I really would like to have as few as possible when I get to the terminal. I have several ways for you to pick them up:

If you are staying in the DL Resort area...I will have a room at the GC on Friday, the 15th... I know you will be at the parks but if on your way out or a small break in the evening - if you could come by the hotel and pick them up -it would be appreciated. Please send me a PM and I will provide you my cell number. I will be in the room from 6:00 P.M. - midnight. (Well..I will be there all night but up until midnight) I will give you my cell # and you can give me a call and I will give you the room number. Between 7 - midnight..I can run them down to the lobby for you.

If you are in the DL Resort (any of the DL hotels or surrounding area) area staying .. you can send me a PM and I can make other arrangements to come by your hotel and drop them off. I would prefer not to leave them at the front desk as I do not want anything to get lost.

If I am having lunch/dinner with you at the DL resort..I will bring yours with me.

If you are attending the EP or DTD mini meet - please send me a PM and I will bring it with me.

If you are doing the DT dining - I will bring it there - please send me a PM.

And finally..I will be in the terminal with those I could not drop off before hand. I will attempt to be near check -in but can not promise. I will have the TOAL pirate shirt on and my lanyard on as well...look for me! I will also be at the meet on Deck 10 at 2:00 p.m

Glad to hear , I am sure she will be excited .. Dylan my oldest DS is not thrilled he is staying here , but he knows he cant go cause of football ....I told him he could come but he would have to sit out the season , He didnt wanna do that ..LOL Hey , have you heard if we made it into PLA ???

Charging for checked luggage and legroom isn’t enough for some carriers — starting today (Aug. 1), coach passengers flying aboard US Airways Inc. must pay for a drink of water.

This morning, US Airways began charging fliers $2 for bottled water and sodas and $1 for teas and coffees. First class members, trans-Atlantic passengers and a select group of others are exempt from the extra fees.


Soon we will be charged if we want to use the bathrooms...

What a morning!!! A new month and one less house to think about. We closed on our old house yesterday. I can't believe it! We did have to drop a bit more than we wanted to but that is better than having it for another year or more with the market today. Perfect timing too since now we only have to worry about our current home while we are gone. Part of me is sad. We lived there for 12 years...we got engaged, married, had our children...a ton of wonderful memories and now we won't have access to it. I know those memories are in our hearts but now I am feeling some of what DD has been going through the past few weeks since we got an offer. The people who bought it are very nice though...a young couple who are engaged. They are both agents and this is their first home so they were really excited being on the other side of the closing table.

Congrats! Glad that's taken care of! I know what you're feeling though... but if it's any consolation.... you won't dwell on those feelings long once you're making new memories in the new home.

Can't wait to use those.


Although, good news for EVERYONE. All reports are that the crowds are way below normal right now. The economy is really taking a toll on the parks.

That's good news for us!

When we sailed last August - I dropped it off later in the day - after our luggage arrived at the Stateroom. I don't think you have to worry about getting it there right away with it being such a long sailing.

That day is filling up quick, with the wenches lunch now and a get together at 4:00! Yikes

We're flying on one-way tickets on both legs of the flight also.

I don't know about all airlines but I already looked for american airlines and prescriptions, in their original bottles, and over the counter medication that is not liquid, gels, etc. form- can be brought on carryon. If it's liquid/gel form on the OTC it has to be in less than 3oz bottles and included in the one zipock bag per person limit for carryon.

I remember when they started charging for the headphones I thought that was ridiculous. Little did I know that within the next few years they'd start charging for things like checked luggage and water. I can totally see a coin operated bathroom someday in the future.... sigh

Experience. We have a separate set of things for cruising vacations. I simply refill each time so I have a full set.

I got my docs!​

Both sets of docs (for this cruise and for the 9/1/08 5 night cruise) arrived today! Now it seems all the more real . . .

Mine haven't even been printed yet. I guess someone screwed up the "back to back" notes on mine. My UPS guy is an idiot so they need to get here before I leave or who knows what will happen. I was told today if they haven't been shipped by next week, we can put a rush on it.

That would be a really good idea...if you haven't thought of it already. It should be someone who will be at the first stop who has a list of everyone who is supposed to get on their bus and also a list of the hotels they need to stop at. I know that there are only two families at our hotel and I really wouldn't want to be left behind.
