Did I mention that our dog, Isis had been acting funny all day since yesterday when we picked her up? I thought it was because of the bath. But in retrospect, she has been throwing herself down on the ground and rubbing herself and her whole body on the ground forcefully. Maybe she was trying to still the ground? Steve said that after we left, she was still acting funny, got veyr skittish and continued to throw herself on the ground. My other dog - Chloe - just had been looking at her like she was nuts. I did mention she was bred for looks and not brains? Isis I think presensed it. Might explain her behaviour. She seems fine now but is still a bit wary but at least she's ont throwing herself on the ground anymore. She was doing that all day yesterday and today. Normally she only does it a couple of times. But in retrspect, she may have been feeling something and in her own way was trying to stop the ground from shaking? She's pretty intuitative. Now I just gotta pay attn for next time.

This could definitely be it. My father used to have a dog that whenever it was going to rain he would do the same thing the day before and the day of until the rain began

Yesterday we went a local Lenscrafters store looking for some new sunglasses. Found a pair that I really liked but the wrong color. So they found the color that I liked in Northridge. Today we take off to Northridge (you might remember this as the site of the big quake in 1994 that killed a bunch of people).

At least you have a story!!
I've never been in a big one, just smaller ones in SoCal & Alaska, so I think they are more fun than anything else. But I have to say, I think I would freak if I was in Northridge!

Well, to gain some perspective.... sailing on the magic will itself be very much like a long, not particularly strong, rolling earthquake. The only real difference is that the movement is unexpected and unwelcome on land. So you're going to get a taste of it whether you like it or not

I don't think Cheryl so much likes the sailing part of sailing, though.

Commute took forever today. I was stuck on a ramp going onto 495 for 30 minutes and was late picking up DS from camp. Plus , I forgot to charge my cell phone so couldn't Dis
I start training next week to learn the software for working at home
I will so not miss the commute

I'm blaming the CA earthquake for our lousy traffic tonight.

So I finally made it to the orthopedic doctor today. I now have a walking boot on my foot. Although the doc talked about putting a screw in my foot to hold the bone together and then having me in a cast for 8 weeks. I have another appointment in 6 weeks to check my foot to see if it is healing.

So I hope that my foot heals without the screw.

It will make the trip interesting.

Oh not fun. I hope you are feeling OK, even if you have to hobble.

Just popping in to say hi before I head home from work. Got home around 10 pm last night and turned on my computer and guess what - it will not boot up. Tried it 2x. Guess I will be reconfiguring tonight when I get home, so don't be too chatty or I will not get caught up.

I'm reading this thread backward. I posted about the jinx before reading this and finding out that I just might be the jinx. Or, at least, the designated fault (no pun intended!)

So, in the spirit of being blamed, let me just say, I formally apologize for causing an earthquake!

Oh, but that's why I don't jump in pools anymore. The waves have swamped little children and it's been really ugly!

As for some damage, looks like my In-laws sustained some pipe damage. A water line broke and damaged some carpet and tile. Our house sustained some cosmetic damage - just as I thought, good thing DH sheer paneled the entire first floor else we may have had more damage. Received one good chunk on the brick fence, corner of the house and on the window sill but all in all, not bad. Lets keep our fingers crossed that this is all that happens.
