Aren't shoes the worst for packing? They take up so much space in the suitcase!

I'm wearing sneakers to travel and in my suitcase are flip flops, dressy sandals for dinner (dressy for me anyway) and swim shoes. Luckily I'm the same size as my Mum so we will swap shoes occasionally.

Robert is wearing sneakers, and packing dress shoes for dinner, flip flops, canvas sand shoes and swim shoes.

I'll be bringing my oldest pair of sneakers, and will abandon them at the end of the cruise to have the space available for other stuff on the return...

Ok...question..I am trying to count outfits and dinner dress...

On Embarcation Night and PC day..those pirates who ordered shirts...are you wearing them into the dining room?

I am trying to fugre out if I need to pack diffent shirts to go with the pants we are wearing. Also..I have denium colored capri's for those days..they are not jeans..will I be able to wear them into the dining room? I always bring skirts and sweaters for the dining room but this time..I want to go to casual dining..well..casual.

thanks!

I'm thinking Not - I'm usually feeling pretty grungy by the time we get through the drill and sailaway and want to get cleaned up. I've heard so much about how HOT it is on PC day that once again I assume I'll want to change for dinner.

I am trying to have some "casual" tops for dining that will do double-duty later as daytime wear. Unless I get really messy at dinner, those clothes will hopefully be fairly clean after only wearing them a couple hours for dinner. DH does a lot of this since he wears short-sleaved plaid shirts pretty much ALL the time. He'll wear a shirt once for dinner with khakis and then it will make an appearance a few days later as his daytime wear with a pair of shorts. Probably, no one has ever even noticed since I doubt they memorize which plaid he is wearing! :lmao:

Desiree, you should do what makes you comfortable . . . there is such a wide variety of dress at dinner. I won't wear my pirate shirt to dinner because I like dressing up (it's part of what makes the cruise experience special for me and my girls) but I wouldn't be offended if someone did.

Is anyone on Deck 8 with us>?>

Who ever did the outline with the ship an the names did an excellant job..Cant wait for the 8th floor to be displayed..

Mike is working on every deck plan -- there are plenty on deck 8, though -- just on the FE list alone I have:

8046 – Steph5 (Steph), DH, DD17, DS10, DD7
8048 – alicecr (Monica), Ron, DD17
8050 – Grandmax3 (Chris), DH Paul, DD Lori, and DGS7
8052 – AndyR, DW Susan, DD6
8054 - Louise, Greg (inlaws of AndyR)
8508 - Reeinieny (Doreen), kap158, and family
8538 - Esteri (Esteri), DH, and 2 sons
8560 --IngridRalph (Ingrid), DH Ralph, DS13, DD10
8574 - Gofenmom (Georgiana) and Melody
8586 – Magiroux (Marianne), DH Jim, and DD12)
8598 - Darthrugby (Peter), DW Johnna, DD12, DD9

If anyone has a Belk near them, they were having an amazing sale. I got DH two pair of Columbia shorts, pair of linen pants, pair of khakis, two shirts, Tommy Bahama silk sweater, two Gund teddy bears, two pairs of baby shoes for friends and a few other little rattles for $94! I was shocked when it all rang up. My bag was huge!! Unfortunately, I didn't find much for myself.

Yes we were there on Friday.. bought a couple of tops for 5.00 shorts and some summer dresses. and some neighbor got really nice bathing suits

I've not tried the stair step exercise. I did a couple of the strenth ones... and now my shoulder hurts!

I did do the ski jump. The key to it is to quickly come out of the tuck and onto your tippy toes (you have to really "snap" out of the tuck)... otherwise you roll down the hill.

I have done the tightrope and got across on my 2nd try!

Will try some more tonight if I get home at a reasonable enough hour

I did OK at the tightrope, until they started throwing things at me!

Looks like they've done some last minute repairs. However, those of us who are on deck 2 may end up being pressed into service to help out....

OK, so I know my DH and Esteri both rowed in college, but I don't think the two of them are going to get us very far.

Last night was Let the Magic Begin as you all know. OK - the Magic has begun but I promise you all - I didn't break the Magic! ;) I had nothing to do with it! :rotfl2: She's just not aging as well as we are!

Bye - line waiting to use the terminals.

LAURA!! Stop breaking the Magic!!!!!!

Finally got the call I had been waiting on last week. I've got a phone interview Wednesday afternoon.

:cool1:

YAY! Good luck!

(Can I uncross everything now?????)

Hopefully, I'll get the new pirate shirt in time for the cruise. If that's the case I plan to use parts of the shirt for something else.

If the new shirt doesn't get here in time... and you see a kid squeezed into his pirate shirt lookin' like a sausage... well, just smile & wave, smile & wave.

Yowza! Oscar Meyer.

Cabo's doing the naked zip... we're fine in PV. Naked people freak out the monkeys.

Don't joke.
Monkeys are not funny.

Nope. We'll change for dinner.

M brings up a good point. I talked to DCL about the PJ breakfast, and I'm waiting for an e-mail that the 23rd will work well. But what if that's our character breakfast day? Should we plan a backup day for the PJ breakfast, just in case it's the same day?

Opinions?:confused3

I vote for Plan B.
Well, I vote for having a Plan B.

Where is McGuyver when you need him! Anyone have a paper clip and stick of gum?

Forget McGuyver...Just have the Capt page for a Disr to bring him some duct tape..... (ahhhhhh so that's what it's for)

says to herself....I don't need anymore clothes, I don't need anymore clothes :headache:

I've found that with my new unemployed diet.... I have more and more clothes that either don't fit anymore or do fit now.

While i've got wayyyyyyyy to many dresses for dinner now, I am hoping my shorts don't fall down around my ankles....

Finally got the call I had been waiting on last week. I've got a phone interview Wednesday afternoon.

Good luck Monica.....

SO far...I got a rock....

On Embarcation Night and PC day..those pirates who ordered shirts...are you wearing them into the dining room?

NOPE.... I don't do t's for dinner...

I have so much to pack since we are going to be in LA for a week before the cruise.. How do I get all that in a suitcase??lol I really think I can get away with one big suitcase each and 2 garment bags.. gowns, suits tuxes.. Oh my and the shoes..

How many pairs of shoes is reasonable to bring. I think I have to take 6-7. HONEST!!!:confused3

I am not a shoe person....so...we will wear our tennis shoes on to board and pack flip flops, dress shoes and water shoes.. for a total of 4-5 pairs of shoes total (2 of which flip flops!)

I love the throw-away stuff.
I usually save the boys old socks & underwear & toss them in the trash during vacation (I know it's a sickness)

I keep having visions of me telling the boys: don't touch me... are those hands clean?... :rotfl2:

Thanks for posting this.... it prompted me to check into it too because this is cheaper than any private transportation we could book for all 5 of us!
I went ahead and booked it- minivan also!
Now when you said you confirmed the reservation and it showed the higher price- do you mean as you went thru the confirming process online? Or do you mean when you went back to look at it later?
Just curious because I just went thru it and confirmed and printed it out- and it shows the lower discount rate but never asked me for my CC and kept saying on there that CC isn't required to confirm the reservation. Do I need to call or something to make sure we get this rate?

I hope it's really okay to use this code. After I printed it out it says all this stuff about corporate discount and insurances are pre-determined based upon the corperate contract (:scared1: ) and all that. I wonder what corporation we're all working for and don't know it? LOL

The code is fine, i got it from www.mousesavers.com, she does not post bad codes!! My code worked just like yours, it didn't give me a higher price or want a credit card. Don't worry!!
