Jen, in San Diego they just started recommending the Hep A within the past couple of years . Remember Chipotle's? Pediatrician also said surfers tend to pick up Hep A from the contaminated water so we got our boys started with the first part of the Hep A vaccine, they won't get the second part until after the cruise, hope it still works!

CRUISE QUESTION!!!



Okay....finally got around to trying to pack up the wine and Pepsi. Won't fit in a rolling duffel....so I'm using an old suitcase that I'll just leave on the ship. Maybe some CM will need one.
Anyway.....the darn thing is REALLY heavy. Really really heavy. I can barely lift it.
SO.....will the porters take it and check it in, or will I have to haul it all over until our room is ready??? Do they have a weight limit??

I've never taken wine, just a few Pepsi's.......

Stacey, I was one who posted about my checking my wine with the porter and having them pull it and call me to come pick it up in the terminal. I'll see if I can find the post.

Thank you so much. I will have to figure out something because we have lazer printer. Don't think that will work. I think your door was great. I don't remember on our cruise in 2005 hearing about the fish extenders. I think this is a great thing to do for all of us. This time we are more involved and we just love it.

We have a laser printer too and it works great. You can print whatever you want, laminate it (but not necessary) and put magnetic strip tape on the back. I got the magnetic strip tape at Home Depot and thanks to Debi's suggestion will be taking all my stuff to Kinko's for laminating.

If you are successful at Vons I would take your receipt to Albertson's and see if they will refund it to you. If your Vons tries to charge you sales tax let me know and I will get them for you at mine. We can meet up this weekend and I can get them to you.

Anyway, you all remember that conversation about misbehaving kids? Yeah, well, I got those today. It was so bad that even after the Head Server talked to them, another table yelled at them, we told them to please be quiet, they didn't listen. The final straw came and yours truly stomped off to Palo's to "inform" the parents they might want to come down and watch their kids or see what they had done - you know what I got? A blank stare and a - why is it important to you (in regards to my question of if they were the parents of the kids on table 8?) ???

Yes folks, they were THAT bad that one of use was elected to go and speak with the parents. I will DIS Friday on my blog don't feel it necessary to write the details just yet on a SLLLOOOOOWWWWW machine, but suffice it to say that one table walked out right after main course (and after they had food thrown at them) and don't even get me started on the broken chinaware!

Yes, you heard right - we had hecklions next door to us. Javem has decided to move our table as they expect the same personnal at the same table tomorrow night.

Just need to post as Steve is ranting and ready to punch a wall at the cool reception I related when I tried to inform them. I admit, I may have stepped out of line but folks, they were really that bad!

Oh yeah, they had a female comedian - Sonja White I believe, that was hilarious. The crowd in Rocking Bar D was small but tonight was also pirate night. She would fit so well on our cruise. Hmmm.....wonder if I can suggest her. She was a hoot. She hosted CMT show and she really is a hoot. She also sorta reminded me of Cheryl - plus the personality to boot. I will post a picture of her when I get home. No ability to do it here.

Anyway, I know I've been promising but now we got sea days and I can update by blog.

I keep threatening to do something similar. I usually fly wearing a zip up hoodie. Well, TSA makes me remove my sorta form-fitting hoodie because it is a "jacket", but they wouldn't make me remove a big baggy crew neck sweatshirt. Makes no sense. I always tell DH that one of these days I am going to wear my zip up and hoodie and a really pretty bra.

Going there once is too much.

Hmmm.... Broken Engines.... Norovirus... Demon Kids.... Sounds like definitely a "memorable" cruise....

At least I don't expect we'll have to worry about demon kids - at least not in the group sittings.

However, I will offer the following suggestion to help resolve the issue should it happen again. Gather a large number of people who are annoyed by the demon kids, peacefully gather in a circle around the table of demon kids, and sing an endless round of Kumbaya. Keep doing so until the demon kids are so annoyed that they banish themselves from the dining room - they will not be able to stand the positive vibes.

Then insist that the parents or guest services cover the laundry service for clothing messed up by the food they threw at you.

(an no, I'm actually not kidding. While anger is a natural response, the bizarre and unexpected is much more likely to freak out the other party into a desirable outcome).

If this doesn't work, then perhaps you can arrange for an Exorcism?

Yes I used vista- had some problems with it but had others help me figure it out.

My DD will be in shorts or capris all day. It is just too hot to be wearing Jeans. That being said she will be wearing them on the plane ride there and back and will probably pack one other pair just because but on cruises she is in shorts or capris 90% of the time

I purchased 20 postcards for my DD postcard exchange but ended up going with Vista for the postcards..so now I have 20 Disneyland postcards with nothing to do with them.

So..if anyone wants me to send them to their kids as a pre-cruise welcome to Disneyland (I did this in 2005 too) I can do so...I usually just put something like...Can't wait to see you or something in the Walt Disney Font and sign it Mickey.

Part of being a teen is figuring out what you want to wear (which includes going through phases, wanting to wear what others are wearing, etc). Let her wear what she wants, but bring some backup stuff for if she changes her mind.

At least what she wants to wear are jeans.....

(no offense intended to those of the goth persuasion - it's a perfectly legitimate form of self-expressions, and does fall within DCL guidelines for dinner wear)

Well here's the thing... she wants to wear her jeans that are too tight for her now, are low riders and honestly show either a bit of panty or butt crack (I know- ewww but no way else to describe it) and even *I* don't like seeing that... no one else wants to see that. And if they do..... they need to step away from my 14yr old. LOL

Let her wear whatever she wants. Pick your battles with teens...and this one isn't worth fighting or stressing over.
Mine have worn jeans during the day. The kids spend more time inside where it's air conditioned anyway...unless they're in the pool.

Yeah but she won't be the only one to suffer. There's a REASON I call her ST (there's a reason for the S part). Everyone would be suffering if she gets all sweaty- trust me..... LOL
I don't know what is up with her lately but I've been fighting her all summer to wear WEATHER APPROPRIATE clothing. She keeps wanting to wear either black longsleeved shirts or white SWEATER material longsleeved tops and jeans- and then complain about how hot she is.

You can make them with a lazer printer- just print the pictures out and either laminate them yourself ..... or have kinkoz, staples, or somewhere laminate them for you and put magnets on the back. I did ours myself only because I already had a laminating machine (remembered it was in the attic- from a "free after rebate" thing awhile back with staples!) But I checked at staples and it was very inexpensive to have them do the laminating......

Now THAT'S bursting a BIG bubble. Guess I'd better be e-mailing concierge for confirmation tomorrow. Yah, they're gonna love me. Not.

The pants from children's place have those elastic strips & buttons on the inside waist. They're great for skinnies.

They have them at Walmart and I think Target too. Those are the greatest if you have a kid like my son- that goes skinny when he hits a growth spurt then chunks up a bit before the next growth spurt. Gotta have those adjustable waist jeans. LOL

How old were these kids they let go eat by themselves? I would think that children young enough that might behave like this would be really too young to go eat by themselves.... and if they were old enough to be trusted to eat by themselves they shouldn't be behaving this way! My kids are little heathens but even they would never behave this way in a restaurant! Maybe my kids are better behaved than I thought....... LOL
And you know why those kids acted that way- the way the parents reacted when confronted about it tells you EXACTLY why their kids are acting that way.

Hey where can I find some info about internet on the ship? And/or info about bringing a laptop -like how much it cost. I think I read somewhere in the past about where they work on the ship too.
and I wonder if there is wifi at HOJO's? I'm trying to figure out how much it's gonna cost me if we bring a laptop for minor use during the vacation since we're gonna be gone SO LONG- and might be easier than friends/family trying to reach me by cellphone the whole time.
Or trying to figure out if it's even worth bringing. I don't want to bring it if it won't work at Hojo's and won't work on the ship! What would be the point, yanno? LOL

I'd prefer to use disneyland express for us on the 11th and DH on the 15th but I'm worried we might arrive late if our flight gets delayed and it says they close at 12:30am. Hey it's happened before- one time our flight was delayed and we arrived at our WDW resort at almost 3am! (that was bad... let's hope that doesn't happen again!)
But supershuttle doesn't say anything about what time they close- or if they ever close. Anyone know?

Or what transportation do you plan on using if you're arriving at LAX on an evening flight and are not renting a vehicle to drive yourself to the resort/hotel? Someone PLEASE help me with this.......... pretty please?

nevermind. I don't know how to "line out" my post above but I just got a response from supershuttle that they are open 24/7 and if our flights are delayed we just call the 800# and they'll get dispatch to tell us how long the wait will be. So now I'm off to book supershuttle. Oh dang.. I just remembered I need to book the parking for our vehicle at the airport while we're gone! See..... one thing off the list of things to do- atleast one more on the list. LOL

I just simply did NOT want to deal with a rental with me/kids only and Jeff definitely didn't want to deal with it by himself on that Friday either... disneyland express would have been nice but we just couldn't risk our flight being delayed and getting there after they stop running.
