I get my best b-day gift ever around midnight.... My 2 kiddos come home!!!! The plane lands at 11:59PM tonight. We are all planning on staying up and going with dh to pick them up..... lets see if 10ds & I make it! I'm pretty sure 7dd & DH will have no problem!

I think I remember reading somewhere on the DIS that you could ask your room steward for extra hangers. That would be much more convenient, if true.

I must be in the minority, but I didn't like Mamma Mia. It is so my kind of movie, but I found Meryl Streep totally unbelievable in the character she was playing. She was supposed to be the mom of this 20 year old girl who she got pregnant with when she was young and crazy so to speak. If she was "young" when she had her, I'm not how they define young. She just looked way too old to me for this role. I think different casting would have made a world of difference!!

Cruise note: For those of you who booked more recently, check to see if you got a credit. We received a $30 credit to our credit card and asked our TA. She had no idea why at first, but then found out that the port decided not to raise port fees as originally planned. Disney had charged us the $15 more per person they expected the port to charge, but when they changed their minds, they refunded the money to us. A little extra spending money...

On our first cruise Brendan and I were seated with a great family of 4 with 2 kids....seating is like a box o' chocolates..you never know what you're gonna get!

Yep...our first cruise, the kids were 8 and 11 and we were seated with a family with teen girls. We ended up being great friends with them, even now, but it was obvious DCL wasn't taking the time to match the kids' ages.

Hello Everyone,
Just a quick update then off to do more paperwork. About 2000 posts ago I mentioned that I was running for board of directors for our Homes Association, well the vote and results were tonight.

Drum roll please......................I was voted in. I REALLY would be o.k if I didn't get it. My Job is consuming my life right now and my plate is about to break !!!

So I will take on this task as with everything else and give it a 100%.

I have not started any lists yet but I am starting to put things together in a spare closet. I feel behind on everything.

At this point we are ready to be on the ship and just SLEEP for 15 days.

Actually , Pirate Night morning we dye , stays that way till we leave Castaway Cay , then we Strip the color out (back to normal) then I debate on wether or not I do Pirate night for the 5 day , which of course will lead to dye in the morning and strip out the color that night ... Have to keep the facial hair cause of a Ren Faire coming up and Halloween ....either way I will be getting on the ship with Blonde Facial and leaving the ship with Blonde Facial hair ..

So your face will be dirty for a couple days before CC. LOL!

Cheryl, I was just thinking of how much we would be spending and if not all it's cracked up to be. So we will most likely be joining you guys.

Actually this is not true , I have been asked numerous times if I was getting off on Castaway Cay to take pics with the Dutchman by Rachel the CD and also Frank the head of security .. Also I have seen another guest , it was a girl who dressed as Jack Sparrow and she came off the ship in full costume and got pictures with the dutchman with no incident .... From what I understand , in the Parks they DO NOT allow you to dress up unless it is a special event like Pirate and Princess or Halloween thing ... But I will Double Check before we get to Castaway Cay , but I am almost sure there would be no issue ..... Heck if they let me take pics with there Jack and have even asked me too take pics with the ships Jack I dont see any issues taken a picture with the Dutchman ... Remember Disney does not own the Dutchman .its on lease from JB .....

I thought the Dutchman was on loan from Davey Jones (the not the Monkee!)

We're planning to bring our two-way radios again as we have had good luck with them in the past We play with them in the terminal until we get a station that comes in clear and then we pick a backup station in case the chosen one stops working. That worked fine for us on our 2 cruises I doubt we will have room for extra hangers, but I would bring some if we did.

Just wondering how well they would work. I told dd that if I want to go and get coffee in the morning or a tray from Topsiders, that I didn't want to wait for her. But maybe writing a note will work. She just spazes sometimes!

That's my understanding - DCL will try to match you up with other cruisers who may be close in age or have children similar ages. I have also read of tables where they are all honeymooners.

On our first cruise we had late seating and they put us with a young couple with a baby who was tired, grumpy and threw food everywhere! I felt sorry for the poor servers who had to clear up the mess afterwards. Before we could ask to be shifted following the first meal, they got reassigned to early seating (thank goodness!). We didn't share our table with anyone else.

On our second cruise we got seated with a lovely couple from Texas who had a 6 year old boy. He was a lovely child but usually fell asleep before the end of the meal - it was just too late for him.

We are looking forward to meeting our new tablemates on this cruise

I finally decided that if I don't have it, and can't buy it onboard or in port, then I don't need it. I took very little on the Mexican Riviera...repeated outfits a few times, and got along just fine.

The thing is- packing isn't the issue. It's so much OTHER stuff to get done before we leave (oh just stuff to get done with school and Ruby's highschool band and band camp starting next week and and and- you know.. other stuff! LOL) that is freaking me out. Packing is no biggie.

Whoo Hoo! I was just able to book the Alcapulco City Tour & Cliff Divers for my sister and BIL. It had been fully booked until this afternoon. It was available for the second time slot which ends at 1pm.(Isn't that when the ship departs?). So, did DCL just add a second time slot or did I just get lucky?

My DD and I went to see Mama Mia yesterday. She LOVED it and I did as well. I thought it was great! I didn't realize Tom Hanks and Rita (oh I'm drawing a blank) were the Executive Producers. Let me know how you like it![/QUO
