Edited because I'm not going to drag this to yet another page, fan the flames, or justify any of your comments with an answer.

I only ask the you please be careful in your multi-quote cut and paste. You have attributed something to me in your post that I did not type.

you're right and it's been repaired.....

Hi All

I have been enjoying a few (only 100 pages) of your multiple incarnations of this meet and greet thread. Last night I had posted about some of the fun activities, and was told that I needed to bulk up my posting count...so bear with me.

Our little family will be enjoying our first Disney Cruise...and as luck would have it, we were able to snatch a cancellation in Dec. 2007. So excited to get a chance to share in the fun.

Thanks for all of the help, :worship:

But it it is something "uncool" that we would normally have to pack, we will be eternally grateful to you as we DON'T pack it . . .:goodvibes

Disneyland Related Question..................

I am really struggling with dining at Disneyland and I need some advice from the Ca experts. At this point I have not made any priority seating dining at all. I figured we would plan to be in the parks early as possible, grab a quick bite at McDonalds on the way in and then have an early lunch around 11 and then an early dinner arpound 5 to avoid some of the crowds. Figured we would just eat wherever we were at the time.

HOWEVER, DS is turning 13 which is the first day we are in Disneyland. I wanted to do a character breakfast but he kind of stuck his nose up at that idea (he is too cool & too old for that :confused3) So.............I was searching through the sit down full service restaurants that are interesting and would be good for all of us. I keep looking at Blue Bayou - its right up his alley BUT the menu (its an old one and it may be updated now) does not seem all that appealing to kids............both of my kids like plain foods, no fancy stuff. SO, those of you who have been, can you tell me if they have chicken strips, grilled cheese, or just plain steaks or chicken?

If I don't make any dining reservations do you think I am making a big mistake??? Thanks!

When our kids were younger (10 and less) they always wanted to go to the Blue Bayou because they love watching the boats in Pirates but they never liked any of the menu choices. It's better now, the teenagers like the Monte Cristo that they are famous for but DS11 still complains of no chicken nuggets or pizza to choose from. It is still their favorite place to go but $80 - $100 for a family of five is a once a year thing for us!

Too Cool Todd. Can't wait.

Warning...this is a vent. We are going to an out of town swim meet this weekend that begins Friday late afternoon, so we have to leave Friday morning. DH's boss, who has no kids has rescheduled a meeting 3 times and decided that Friday for lunch is the day. There is no way we can wait for him and make the meet in time. He told his boss that he can't be there and she basically said well either you come to the extended lunch meeting or you might not have a job. Then the only other weekend this summer that my DD has a dance performance that she has been working on since January, my DH's boss has decided to have an executive retreat! UGH!! Yes, I am happy he has a job and makes enough that I don't have to work but this lady drives me crazy! It just isn't right. Someone else asked about the next weekend and she said no, she can't make it. I love how it is all about her and what works best for her. I won't even mention all the kids' events he has missed because of work related stuff. :sad2:
The reason I quit my job was because he isn't around that much and someone needs to be here. Not his fault at all, but man is this frustrating. Does anyone out there need a really hard working CFO? This was even after he and I went out for margaritas tonight.:scared1:
Grand Cayman is looking better and better to move to. Life just shouldn't be this complicated.

Being a work widow is not fun. When DH traveled a lot more than he does now I kept telling myself that I was happy that he had a job that allowed me to stay home with the kids too. As it was his job ended up giving last minute notice for some of the travel so we would have had to have childcare on call 24/7 to make sure someone was with the kids, which would have cost a ton.

I bunch of my desert buddies have those for emergencies. I was going to bring a GPS but.....I think I'll bring this little puppy:

sonygpscs1.jpg

It's a Sony GPS tracker for photographers. It comes with software which marries the timestamp on your photos with the GPS track so you can find out where you where when you took a given pic.

It has linkes to Google Earth etc.

Andy

All right Andy - GIVE!!! Where can I get one and how much is it going to cost me? I usually have a good memory...but I've been finding out that every once in a while, it leaves me........just for a split second mind you, but long enough for me to remember that I'm not all that. I think its God's way of making me humble! :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

(Joke people - joke) :rotfl2: :lmao:

Mine aren't that cool but good. Break out the ninja outfit to slink about the ship at night to distribute my goodies!:tiptoe:

NO NO NO! Crash will break out the ninja - he's scary (the ninja) but speaking of ninja, I think we should all get a sticker to put on our backs so that the security detail police won't :tiptoe: behind us the whole route and scare us 1/2 to death as we are delivering our stash......um...gifts.

BTW, I have decided not to deliver cool-o-meter gifts, mine will just be a plain old duds w/o any fanfare. :rotfl2: (and without a name of course! ;) )

And with that - I'm off. I wasted away an hour of my time, off to shower and get on the road. :wave2: I needed fluff and was looking for food porn but no one posted any of that this morning, I did however, get an eyeful of beautiful roses - :scratchin JOHN - can I get you to consult with my DH for our anniversery? ROTFL - I love flowers but my 18 would look measely next to your 40.

CONGRATS BY THE WAY! :hippie: :cheer2: :flower3:

Thanks for your suggestion..............we won't have a car, we are staying at Hojos and really want to make the most of our three days in Disneyland. I think once we enter the park we will end up staying ALL day - unless we take a mid afternoon break to head back to hojos for a dip in the pool. I will keep Storytellers in my head though for maybe another day besides our first day. Kids will not want to leave the park

We just got back from a trip to DL a couple of weeks ago and stayed at the HoJo. We did take a break every afternoon to go back for a dip in the pool. It's such a quick walk back and forth that it was nice to be able to get back to the hotel and cool off for awhile (we were there during that awful heat wave). And the main pool renovations should be done when you're there, it looks like it should be great. We only had the garden pool, but it was still worth coming back in the afternoons.

Most of mine are just fun stuff...nothing fancy or really unique like the tatoos. I did "theme" them to the days I am delivering them tho (its that event planner in me I tell ya!) however...there is one I am really proud of..it's my final gift...and I shall share cuz I thought they were kinda cool...

They are ink pens (nothing fancy) and I had printed on them:

Across the ocean and the Panama Canal through..it's been fun sailing with you!

It took me awhile to figure out how I would top the cards , and actually thought about doing that , but the cost for 125 decks was unreal ... So after some searching and actually finding someone to do these cause of possible copyright infringement i knew it was too cool not to do ...I know the kids are going ot like them , but I also think the Adults will like them more then the kids ....
