:woohoo: Got the confirmation that my credit card still works and the patches are being made as we speak..well..as we type....Should arrive in about 2-3 weeks..just in time!

In regards to dining...does DCL actually release the rotation in advance or is it a surprise when you get on the ship (we have never linked with a group before) I know it is currently not set in stone but wondered if they do eventully announce it.

Thanks!

Your's and mine both!!!! Oldest dd and I had a talk about this a while back. She had finally had enough from a couple of the women that work in the accounting dept for dh
(dd worked as a receptionist when they needed a *fill in*).
They would say things to her everyday *Just wait one of the days you're going to be as fat as us.* After months of listening to them everyday she snapped (she called me from the office because she felt really bad for what she said) and she said to them *I will never be fat like you. You know my father, you know my grandmother, my mother is thin, also. We do not keep food in our desk drowers to snack on between meals.*

DD asked me how come it was ok to make fun of thin people (and they really did make fun of her every chance they got) but, you're a horrible person if you tell someone they're fat?

As someone that was really thin most of my life (I am 5'6" and until I was 30 and had 3 children I weighed less then 110, until I was over 40 and had already had 5 children I weighed less then 120....... I don't weigh alot more then that now. But, at over 45 my *fat cells* have expanded and I don't look *skinny* any more)

BTW-- it is a fact that over 45 your fat cells double in size! LOL! At least that is what I have read in books on health for women. ;)

I think a lot depends on how it's said and how often. Remember the old commercials "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful...". Well, lots of women mean the phrase ("I hate you, you're so skinny") as a compliment and a way of saying how frustrated they are with their own battle with weight.
Of course, it sounds like your dd's experience with those women was not meant as a compliment, but more about resentment:confused3

No......not our 40th Anniversary yet. :rolleyes1 John just thought I would expect flowers Sunday so he surprised me today instead.  This is what 40 roses look like!!!

how cool & sweet

I am so sorry for this!!! DH used to miss ALOT of things because of his work schedule & travel schedule.
DH can't stand their CFO......she is a royal pain.......

His is the CEO and she is really just only does what works for her schedule. The fact that she changed this meeting 3 times already because it didn't work for her, then my DH had a conflict and too bad. He doesn't like his job anymore. Promises were made when he took the job and it just hasn't panned out like he thought. He didn't get a bonus last spring because boss lady told him he didn't work enough. She expects a person at his level to work weekends and very late into the night. He is pretty much gone from 5:30 am until 7:30 or 8. Really....that isn't a long enough day? :confused3 He did invest in the company, so now he wants to stay until next spring so he can get his money out of it then look elsewhere. I think she has a secret camera next to my day planner and looks for the only weekends we have something scheduled that can't be changed and picks those dates.

Well, thanks for listening everyone. I am going to just let it go at this point. Too much negative energy and there are other things I need to focus on. I appreciate everyone's viewpoints and ideas and thanks for just letting me get that out. He does have a job, now if I can just help him keep it until he finds something else.;)

Todd...I know that I'm not a part of the DIS FE exchange...but if I beg, can I have a tattoo?? :worship: :worship:

Sorry about being MIA today. I have a feeling it might look bad....but my head is all messed up today. There was a local fire and a woman who died in it, and sadly I am somewhat connected to it.

I wasn't trying to avoid you all....just messed up today.

I'm so sorry Stacy. You are both in my prayers.:grouphug:

Real cruise related questions!

2. Will they give you an extra keycard for your cabin? Just to get in, not charge.

Thanks!

Yes, you can get extra KTTW cards for your room. :) You can also get a replacement easily if you happen to lose one ... found that out the hard way.

For my birthday, DH got me this cool little tracking gizmo called SPOT. Uses GPS to let folks know where you are, and I can send OK, Help, and 911 calls using it. He got cause we're going to be in the back woods - and cell doesn't work. Plus it works anywhere in the world.

Anyway, I tested out the tracking feature yesterday during our shirt run. It's pretty cool - here's the URL... (I prefer the Hybrid view)http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?&glId=0iAykhlmivFJRviK9c1yOFMnXnYLerg8p

We'll have it on during the cruise, so that all our friends can watch and be jealous. :rotfl2:

.

That is cool!

:offtopic: My FSIL is scheduled for a c-section today! This is their 4th (and I think their last). I'm so excited to be an aunt...again! At least this little girl (still waiting on a name) will grow up knowing me as "Aunt Jen" and not "Jen (the girl that our uncle is dating.)" YAY!!

Another :offtopic:...I was watching the news last night and noticed that the fires in Northern California (Butte County specifically) have turned again and are threatening the homes of many of my friends. I went to college in Nor Cal and the fires are burning just above the town I spent 5 years in! It is still my home away from home and much of my "college family" still live there. Many have been evacuated, but at least they are safe. We just keep praying that their homes are as well. San Diego just went through the fires a year ago, so I know what it's like to worry about your friends and neighbors, and your home! Luckily, we didn't lose anything down here and our friend's homes up north are safe...for now. I hope those of you in Nor Cal are safe from the fires too.

 A baby!!! Congratulations *Aunt* Jen!!!

We have been keeping the people affected by the fires in our prayers -- Ihave lots of family that was affected last year when thye were near La/SD!

It does take luck or training of many years.:rotfl2: We fell in love by 16 but waited til 21 to get married. I believe marriage takes lots of patience and laughter too!!:thumbsup2 I am always surpring John on my next adventure. I also just try to make him laugh............sometimes without even trying.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

My mother told me from the beginning to keep Jon because he could always make me laugh! ;)

I bunch of my desert buddies have those for emergencies. I was going to bring a GPS but.....I think I'll bring this little puppy:

sonygpscs1.jpg

It's a Sony GPS tracker for photographers. It comes with software which marries the timestamp on your photos with the GPS track so you can find out where you where when you took a given pic.

It has linkes to Google Earth etc.

Andy

That is something I am going to have to check out.....

Hi guys...me again. Thanks for bearing with me--trying to increase post count.

Our "little" family includes: DD8--she is celebrating her BD on this cruise!, DS3, DH (lost count), and Myself. My husband works for SBC, and I work for Children's Hospital LA.

By the way...this site is addicting. When will I have time to actually get all of the stuff done in time for the cruise, if I am glued to the screen?

Thanks to all for the welcomes, and the great advice. Can't wait to start PM so that I can get even more info, and get signed up for some of the added fun (if it's not too late)

Carol :cool1:

Yes, it is and we all feel the same way! LOL!

I have a 17dd, 10ds & 7dd that are comin gon this cruise!

As opposed to now, when you are in diapers on DIS chat.

MATH ALERT:
Yeah, but your remainder would be a 1-year-old. And that's not good. Better trade for 3 20-year-4-month-olds.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Glad to see the funny hasn't changed.
