Gee...

... I'm gonna be in SF some time this month. I just need to double check my calandar as to WHEN that'll be. Maybe you foks can sort of make it THAT weekend? Let me go try and ask Alicia about that now.... if I can corner her long enough.

Let us know when you'll be in town!

Tom, thanks for the kid's pirate newsletter, it's the talk of the day! (As if we talk about anything else these days!) :thumbsup2

ATTN GIRLS SCOUTS:
Girl Scout Badge Idea...........Let me know what you think!

In the Junior Girl Scout Manual there is a badge called "On My Way". Junior Scouts need to complete SIX activities, not sure about the Daisy's or the Brownies. I came up with three activitie ideas here.

Things we could do to earn the badge: 1) Find out about a couple of "Travel Careers" - maybe interview the Cruise Director, a dining room server, the excursion manager, galley manager, etc. 2) Each girl could create a travel post card of the port they are most looking forward to or that we have visited and they blind swap them with each other............THEN.........once the girls are home they could write something on their postcard and send it to someone totally different (we would have to assign an address). 3) The girls could brainstorm safety on the ship and how to stay safe - travelling in pairs, etc.

These are just some ideas I came up with........someone might have something to add or something totally different in mind. Give me your thoughts

That sounds great!

Ok just an observation/vent here....Certian people are just amazing around here...Someone makes a comment that in todays society is very real and has actually happened to a member of this board and some treat it like its a big joke and those that dislike it must be wrong. Have we not seen in the news in the last week that it was real and took 5 years, to resolve only because they got lucky on the rescue.

we have to remember in a big group like this that just because it has never happened to us it may have happened to someone else and in this case in a very traumatic way....We should all be grown up enough to just apologize for the mistake and drop it and carry on with cruise planning and general conversation...

I intended no disrespect towards anyone. I just know that Kristina is going through a very real and dificult time right now, and humor is her coping mechanism. :)

I worked for Toyota for 14 years...really good company but also...alot of it was their way or the highway. Of course..after working in Collections for 10 years...(not a happy job!)...you get burnt out.

I did love working there except for the last year or so that i did...of course..it introduced me to the job I love..event planning! When I left there..I started my own business..and here I am :yay:

I worked collections for a credit card company once. It was my first job out of college. YUCK! Talk about being verbally abused! And I am sort of a pushover when it comes to hard luck stories, so I wan't very good at it. :goodvibes

Todd-

Will we be in costume?

Peter

As for the drive... have you considered listening to books? We find that they keep us awake and alert without the caloric intake. If you have an MP3 player you can download them. We use Audible.com. Our library also has them available for check out and download for free.

We do this also! Audiobooks are GREAT for long drives. Not only do they keep you awake, but the drive just feels shorter. :thumbsup2 Our library has tons of books on CDROM which is great for in the car. For our last drive up to the cabin with DS, I checked out the audiobook of the 1st book in the Disney Fairies series. This is something, we probably wouldn't have read otherwise (DS would rebel if I tried to get him to read it himself) but it was fun to listen to in the car and now we at least have some background when the Tinkerbell movie eventually comes out!

:rotfl: My first year at it..I was in my manager's office more then I was out of it for being to much of a pushover.....once I got a little thicker skin..I did better..I just really feel for people..I had a time in my life where I pretty much hit rock bottom..lost my Dad, divorce, lost my house, and my job all in less then 3 months...so I know how they felt....

Ok...I don't know why I thought this was so funny but I did...just picturing it I guess. I had to check on traffic and saw this:

5 North Before E Slauson Av Traffic Hazard - Loose Animal 10:05 AM
Thomas Guide Map Coordinates: Page 676, Grid 7B
Dog Sitting on Right Shoulder Watching Traffic 10:05 AM
CHP Unit Assigned 10:10 AM

Maybe he was waiting for popcorn to go with his movie?

Edit: I checked again..doggy all safe and removed from the freeway.

Sorry, For the interactive movie.

Peter

No , I would just bring your hat or something ...thats what I will do ....Unless of course the interactive ends up being on Pirate Night , which of course then I would say Yes to the Costumes ...

I bunch of my desert buddies have those for emergencies. I was going to bring a GPS but.....I think I'll bring this little puppy:

sonygpscs1.jpg

It's a Sony GPS tracker for photographers. It comes with software which marries the timestamp on your photos with the GPS track so you can find out where you where when you took a given pic.

It has linkes to Google Earth etc.

Andy

You can also use a program from http://www.geosetter.de/en/ to put your photos on a map... Just make sure the times on a GPS and camera are the same :)
