I would be afraid to buy something at a store called "Last Call".

I'm imagining I'd try it on in the store, thinking I look great in it. Of course, the colored lights and disco ball are hiding all of my flaws. So, I buy it and leave the store only to realize I look like I'm trying to shoplift a bag of oranges.

Just an update on my saga...seems that they have not been able to locate if we are supposed to be at the hotel on Saturday night...seems the only person who has that info is on vacation.


So..what was a simple confirmation call has turned into over 4 hours of hunting something down...they are still working on it but unfortunately, we are already out money as my Sis needed a hotel to stay at tomorrow night on her way here and that deadline for cancellation passed at noon my time today. With the cost of gas..no point in coming out if there is nothing to come out to when she has to drive out again in a month.

I need that pulling your hair out icon here.... I know it will work out..just venting my frustration here...

Okay. I haven't said ANYTHING to anyone about this until now.
Anything that I have said was in response to PM's.
But....I have to say this.

There are a lot of people who aren't participating in the group activities for a LOT of different reasons, but yet we post here.....for several reasons.
For one, I didn't think that it was a requirement to be in all of the group activities in order to post and get to know people. If it IS a requirement, then I guess this will be my last post.



When I said to Kristina that it wasn't funny to joke about being captured by guerillas or whatever it was, I WAS dead serious. I honestly have been in that postition and thought I was going to die and never see my daughter again and worse, I thought I'd be left to die in a jungle in Guatemala and my parents and daughter would never even KNOW what had happened to me.
The part about "who wants to go to Cartegena with me" WAS a feeble attempt at making my post a little lighter than it was.
And some people felt bad that I was hurt. I don't think that's such a bad thing....I think that's part of what makes the DIS family so wonderful.
I took the comment and Ks as a light hearted release from the severity of the situation,just as I tend to do with DHs medical issues.You either laugh or you cry.
Lastly.....and yes....out in the open, and not in PM's....because I want to put this to rest and move on.......
When I saw the gorillas in the sigs.......call me a wimp, call me anything you want to....hate me, talk about me behind my back....I don't care....well, okay, I DO care, but I can't stop you (or anyone) but.....when I saw the gorillas....I cried. I took it as a personal attack.
It made me particularly sad when I saw that people who I thought were new friends had banded together to make a joke about me.

So anyway......like I said, if I have to add myself to the lists for the group activities in order to post here, then I guess this is my last post.

If someone can tell me that it's okay to be here and NOT be listed, then I will stay. Not begging....or fishing......I just want some clarification of the "rules" of posting.

I am just posting a general open post about the cruise...YOU here means everyone.

Above all else..remember this is YOUR cruise...you should feel free to do as little or as much as you want. What has been put together by everyone (and a HUGE thank you! for that) is only for fun and only you can decide what you want and can take part in. No one is in "charge" of the group. I have both met people in person and in cyberspace that I am looking forward to spending time with on the cruise. Again...this is YOUR cruise and you get to choose how and who you spend your time with.

Can't say it any better than Julie said. Of course you are welcome to post here, and I hope you continue to do so. I love reading your posts and can't wait to meet you in person.

The great thing about this cruise is that we have chosen to do the group activities that appeal to us. But our focus for this trip will be on spending time as a family.

I lost Esteri's quote, but she brings up a great point that there are a LOT of people working on a lot of things. Every single person who took the time to post on this thread (and its many incantations) has helped to create our community and the group that we've become. Thank you to one and all who have shared with us in any way, through posting or otherwise!

I am sure you will have better luck..this is for the Mickey Penthouse that was a perk from DVC..DVC informed us to confirm with the DL Hotel that they have us scheduled and DLH has informed us that they never know if someone is coming in for the Penthouse?? Said if DVC has us..we should be okay...but I am not happy with should as my Sis is travelling in for this and it will be a waste of gas if we get there and they don't have us...anyways..a supervisor will be in soon and will call back...

It will work out..I know..just seems a little emore stressful then it had to be...

Have you called DVC Customer Relations? They should be able to verify???

Well said Esteri. You are so good with words. We are getting close to the trip and have spent endless hours getting to know each other. We have laughed with each other and prayed for those that needed it. I'm still trying to figure out why these malcontents have the need to come out and try to spoil this joy yet again as they tried a year ago this month? This perplexes me. Let's just hope we can all have a great trip.

Hi all busy day today. This was one of the few days that Cherie and I were both off together before we leave next month. First I got word that my DF was back in the hospital with rule out pneumonia and DM was not well either. They are both OK, just added to our running. We headed out and ended up at DTD having lunch at ESPN Zone. We walked around the hotels to check out the shops and a trip to Disney Store. Found some cool trinkets that will be prizes for the Treasure hunt. We also had to get a couple of Mouseketeer hats and a couple of other things. Did not get to go into the parks but the funny thing was it was not very crowed in DTD at all I asked a few CMs and they said it has been like that this summer. Again, I don't know what it was like in the parks.

Well from DTD we headed off to my parents house which is about 10 miles from the port. We had to kill a few minutes so we swung by the DT to get a copy of the menus. I have posted them on the planning board. I talked to a couple of the waiters and again they told me that it would be no problem for 30-40 people for dinner.

Finally got home a couple of minutes ago and feel like I have been at DL all day. Dogs are barken and didn't even walk that much today.

Sigh!!!!!!! I wish I was there with your family!!! Myabe next year as the trip to DLP will be out of our price range unless the economy turns around.

Yes.....I was with the little Salmonella kid and her brother!!! She is just starting to put back a little weight. She tires very easily yet!! Still no word from the CDC about what kind of strain she had.

As a wife of a retired military, I do not think kidnapping or prisoners of war are a big joke, but the original comment was not meant to be taken seriously.

How many of us have said "Oh, I could have just strangled him", in a totally joking manner? Well, I am sure there are people that have lost family members this way who may take offense.

The image in my signature was to support a friend (going through a tough time), who I felt was chastised publicly. Nothing more.

This thread has lasted months and months without any of the early controversies because the people that stayed on this thread all treated each other with kindness and respect. I see that the drama is being reintroduced here & I only hope that it stops. I want to have fun on this TOAL & hang with a great bunch of pirates without worrying about a them against us mentality! I hope we can put this aside and all be friends or at least friendly.

Yes, we have..spoken to surpervisors on both ends..the problems stems from this is a room that they don't rent out...it was one of 15 that they gave away as part of a DVC perk...I have a certificate with the date but other then that..nothing. DLH has informed DVC that they don't have a record of who they give the room to and don't show that they gave any to DVC..the funny thing is..we are not the first to stay on this perk..there have been 2 others before us and DVC says that haven't heard of any problems...I am just not sure wether to go in there regardless on Sat. or if they tell us they don't have us and they did..we miss out because we didn't show.

I love Disney but this is the kind of thing that gets me irritated esp. when it seems like someone should have a list of upcoming guests..regardless of how they paid to stay there.

I hear ya there! When we went back in 2001, it was about 85 cents to 1 euro (they were just switching to euros everywhere at the time)...great time to travel to Europe, great exchange rate. But now, I know I have to wait awhile to go back...way to expensive!
