Stace: I know it took a LOT for you to come here and admit your feelings & I don't want to keep dragging this on either, but I do have to say that I did not remain innocent in the joking that went on & I want to admit that publicly. I've come to really enjoy bantering with the folks on this thread over the last year and a half & those that have been the most fun, hardworking, and loyal bunch of pirates are the ones that felt the need to jump in and stand up for K & I was a wholehearted supporter. NOT for what was said, but because I also truly believe that this should NEVER have been brought to the thread but handled privately. Because so many people felt the need to jump in and say how offened they were, I did feel as K was being ganged up on. The joking that ensued was meant to show support for K and not in anyway make it seem as if your situation was not horrific. I am truly so very sorry that the you felt the joking was directed at you to the point that it made you so very hurt. For that I deeply deeply apologize!

There have been many comments, jokes, images that have been posted on this thread that I thought may have crossed the line or at least teetered on the edge, but I know that nobody here the last several months has been intentionally malicious. I also know for a fact that sometimes people were offended by an image or post & a PM was sent, the post removed & that was the end of it with no hard feelings. I only hope that if I at any time I say or post something that someone finds hurtful or offensive including right now, that they PM me & not publicly ridicule me for a lapse in judgement.

This thread has lasted months and months without any of the early controversies because the people that stayed on this thread all treated each other with kindness and respect. I see that the drama is being reintroduced here & I only hope that it stops. I want to have fun on this TOAL & hang with a great bunch of pirates without worrying about a them against us mentality! I hope we can put this aside and all be friends or at least friendly.

GOLDEN HORSESHOE

All this talk about making ADR's at Disneyland. A little hidden gem at Disneyland is the Golden Horseshoe. You can't make ressies though. You can go in and just watch the show or you can eat as well. The grub is fast serve - you have to get it yourself at the side (chili in a bun, chicken strips - etc.), have someone in your party save a table first and then send a runner for the food. You have plenty of time to get organized. There is a great comedy sing show (Billy Hill and the Hillbillies) to entertain you while you are eating. Great chance to sit down for a while, air conditioned and fun.


Just another option for people to think about. We'll be going to the first show we can get to on the Thursday after we check into our hotel.

PS. Time of the shows are listed in the event schedule (white sheet of paper) that you'll get at the gate. Mainly only til about 5pm though. Good lunch break.

We actually bring our Bengal Barbecue in and watch the Billies.

Wow! I miss out on the boards for a little bit, and I am so lost....
I feel that I read the boards alot and even post alot (to me), but still get overwhelmed by the speed and sometimes can't keep up.

ALL Right - someone please take this curse off me. I've been typing since 9 last night and so far my computer as shut down twice and lost my e-mails numerous times. Add to that the fact that I must get up in a couple of hours.

OK I give up! I'm going to bed. I now only have 7 e-mails to send off. Forgive me those that are still waiting. I think my laptop's just too hot. Its almost 4:30 am and I need some rest so I will try and send the rest off before my appt in the afternoon.

In the meantime, I get to sit back and giggle at the expressions I'm imagining on your faces when you get or do not get you SMs. Sorry - don't mean to be mean but I'm tired and getting giddy so I know that I have to go off to bed. I'm just getting silly now.

I am just posting a general open post about the cruise...YOU here means everyone.

Above all else..remember this is YOUR cruise...you should feel free to do as little or as much as you want. What has been put together by everyone (and a HUGE thank you! for that) is only for fun and only you can decide what you want and can take part in. No one is in "charge" of the group. I have both met people in person and in cyberspace that I am looking forward to spending time with on the cruise. Again...this is YOUR cruise and you get to choose how and who you spend your time with.

I totally agree. We are looking to both spending time as a family, and enjoying meeting other people!

I am sure you will have better luck..this is for the Mickey Penthouse that was a perk from DVC..DVC informed us to confirm with the DL Hotel that they have us scheduled and DLH has informed us that they never know if someone is coming in for the Penthouse?? Said if DVC has us..we should be okay...but I am not happy with should as my Sis is travelling in for this and it will be a waste of gas if we get there and they don't have us...anyways..a supervisor will be in soon and will call back...

It will work out..I know..just seems a little emore stressful then it had to be...

Just wanted to edit..I have nothing for Disney but do have Legoland, Sea World, Zoo, Knotts Berry Farm...plus other things in hollywood like Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum.

Me too, we have used some from our books, but have many left. I have noticed alot more specific locations in many of the restaurants this year...instead of entire chains of locations.

Yummy chili fries and they have a huge yummy piece of chocolate cake that is to die for...can serve 4+ people easily! And a fun show too...

Give me a break! It is obvious that you are attempting to make light of a serious issue that has affected not just one, but several people who have posted on this thread. Do you think that Stacey is joking about her experience? Have you ever been at the wrong end of a gun held by someone who is threatening your life? Unfortunantly I have and there is nothing there that is possible to turn into a joke. The rest of the people who have contacted me are afraid that if they post their thoughts they will be targeted by the group. They are the ones who made me aware of this new graphic and unfortunantly I can't say that I am surprised. It has offended more than one person who has been personally affected by gorillas ...the terrorist ones which are the origin of this graphic no matter what is claimed ...and one has even lost a family member after they were abducted. They are now being alienated by this insensitive attempt at humor. Their feelings are probably of no concern but I feel the need to let you know about them because they do not feel that they can speak up for themselves here. One person has actually been told in the past that they need to keep their personal views off the thread and use pms to contact someone they do not agree with. I find the whole situation very sad. Noone should be made to feel like they have been slapped in the face when they come to the thread or see it on the main board in one of your posts, which is what this graphic represents to those who are offended by it. Please consider their feelings and reconsider its use.

OMG I had no idea since I was way behind and hadn't read most of the last thread.
I just want to clarify that when someone replied "I like gorillas" and I replied "I do too" I totally thought they meant the ANIMAL gorillas, since all I'd seen was the sig graphic that showed a picture of athe ANIMAL gorilla. I had no idea what was going on and that there was some hidden meaning to the reference of gorillas!

I know what you mean. My flight was changed 3 hour later. Makes for a long day with time changes as well.

I just hope they don't change it even later.... for a couple of reasons. I don't like getting there so late that we end up having issues with GETTING to the resort (unless we rent a limo which we're not doing this time obviously) and getting the right room/etc. but also if it's too late that means DH has to TAKE US later to the airport which is an hour and a half drive each way- and he has to work the next morning! I'd planned it just perfect and now it's later. Any later than this and DH might fall asleep on the way home from taking us to the airport and I don't need to be worrying about that (seriously- DH has a bedtime and he's really bad about trying to fall asleep at the wheel if he's tired- which is why our first trip to WDW I did all the driving all the way there, because I sure couldn't sleep while he was driving cause he might nod off while at the wheel!)

I can't find Monica's post right now, from last night I think, but she also indicated from watching the DL board that there has only been one reported problem using the tickets and that if you have problems at the gate to ask for a supervisor.

Von's is down the street from my house and it would be easy for me to get tickets for anyone who needs them.
