Wahoo , now we can get planning 100 % for the TOAL

pirate:

Where's the pics Captain?!

Probably too personal and also really none of my beeswax....but what happened??? I mean, I know you lost your job....but why?:confused3

Short version, bunch of not so personable supervisors who have no one supervising them so they took her occassional visit to the DIS as an excuse to show her the door and hire "one of their own"

(ok, so maybe I embellished about the "hiring one of their own" but wait, I bet that's next)

It's gonna be a hot week. 105 today, 109 tomorrow 112 Wednesday, 109 Thursday and 105 on Friday..... ouch! I guess we will be staying in doors this week.
Penny

So happy we haven't broken 100 yet.....knock on wood! :ssst:

So what you're saying is "The other half is out of the house today!" :rotfl2:

:lmao: Well, yes....he was at work all day. But I had better be nice since he is taking me out to dinner. ;)

Ports to Avoid

One of ours made the list:

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Throughout the year, behemoth cruise boats from San Diego and Los Angeles lumber down to Cabo San Lucas, the main port of call for Sea of Cortez and Mexican Riviera itineraries. Whale watching during the winter season pairs with the high season of spring and summer to make for paradise lost, pretty much year-round. As you wait to be cattle-called into port aboard inflatable tender boats, here's what you'll have to look forward to: retail madness in the wall-to-wall duty free shops, Coyote Ugly-style bars with Americans behaving badly and Mexican food that's far from authentic.

7dd got her first (and so far only Webkinz) a couple of weeks ago from Bip's dd's b-day party. She has had a wonderful time playing with it online. Now her older brother (10ds) wants one of his own. ;)

At least they are relatively inexpensive. And I also like that they can play with friends online, and send each other little "gifts". Dd gets such a kick out of decorating her pet's rooms, too.

For those of you who have not gotten your DL tickets yet, I wanted to let you know about this deal. It's the $99 Summer Fun Pass. It's a 3 day ticket that can only be bought in Southern CA but a SoCal resident. However, the ticket can be used by anyone. All the reports I've seen on this was 1 person was denied use on one of the first days these tickets went into affect. Later reports, including a quote from DL Guest Services, states that no ID is required when using the tickets, only when purchasing. If anyone is asked for ID at the gates, they should ask for a supervisor.

Edited to add: I don't have a SoCal address, so unfortunately I can't help with buying tickets. Maybe some of other CA pirates can help.

Here's the info on Mousesavers
http://www.mousesavers.com/dltickets.html#summerfunpass

Hmm, I'm gonna hafta (wonderful grammar!) show this to Kevin when he gets home tonight! Oh Crash,Oh Roger!! :rotfl:

Yes 6pm was what we requested. We also requested PLA.

Rotations have not been finalized at disney level yet....

As for anyone wanting to ask for a specific waitstaff.... Debi indicated to me that once on-board you should contact dining directly with that request. (Probably same place as Palo ressies perhaps) (as it seems many wait staff contracts seem to be up shortly and Debi didn't want me to add anything to the group request.)

.

Hmmm , this is not looking good for the Capt being in Capt's Dining ... Geddings contract is not up , as I said he emailed me to make sure I put in the request , now I may have to move cause he may not be in our rotation (Usually when you get on board and request a server your moved to there rotation as opposed to yours ) This sucks , When I talked to Debi awhile ago she said requesting waitstaff wouldnt be an issue

My DS9 got 2 Webkinz for his birthday (he told the family next door that was what he wanted - but not pink or girl ones!) He has been enjoying playing the games and decorating. I haven't really had time to sit down with him and see what all is there. DH has played some of the arcade games with him!

Ports to Avoid

One of ours made the list:

This is why we are just going to the beach - I couldn't find much of anything there that we wanted to do! We NEVER just go to a beach - EVER! But we figured it would be fun joining the other DIS folks and if we don't enjoy it, we'll just head back to the ship.

This is the list I have of girls that want to participate in working on a badge. Let me know if I forgot anyone. Also, if anyone has seen any badges they be interested in working on, let me know.

Those of you that are putting banners on your verandahs for PC day....
Are you making them yourselves?
If not, where are you getting them made?
What are you putting on yours?

Ours is a Reading FC banner!

I had a cruise dream last night. We arrived back home and I couldn't remember ANYTHING we did. I could remember leaving for LA and then flying home, but nothing in-between. :scared1:

Maybe too many drinks of the day!

Ha I've had dreams like that too! Except after our last cruise, I really did feel that way when we got off. I think because we spent a LOT of time by the jumbotron while the kids swam & watched movies & not much else. :confused3 Or um it COULD have been a few too many Bahama Mamas! ;)

I have this dream about arriving at the departure port the day before the cruise and our luggage not showing up, and having to dash out madly and buy everything we need, filling in the remainder from the on-board shops...

Oh wait, that wasn't a dream - just memories from my last cruise

Oh now that IS a nightmare! Sorry you actually had to live it! :sad2:

 uuummm... It's the birth place of the United States of America..... You can actually stand in the same room as our fore fathers did while they were writing the Decleration of Independence! You can eat at City Tavern -- where the men that started this country ate! You can see the actual chair that Ben Franklin sat in while the Continental Congress met! I could go on FOREVER about all the wonderful Historically significant things there are to see and do in Philidelphia!!!

Real Philly cheesesteaks! Yes I sadly have a one track mind! :sad2:

What a great idea your DS had!

That IS a great idea!

My kids were hooked on Webkinz for a while, but lately they've lost interest.

My pleasure... I'll accept donations to the out-of-work relief fund for DIS addicts still attempting to cruise and maybe go on one shore excursion. Hoping to still get to Las Caletas at least.

May I say a massive big thank you for all of the hard work both of the organisers of the linked Dinners have put in, this is a big task to organize and a very nice guesture from all who put in so much work,
THANK YOU

Oh no! :grouphug: Our family's prayers are with them.

I am going to have to tell 17dd about this!!! :goodvibes

I'm glad that your DW is feeling better today! I hope Stephne has a great time! I am sure Alice had fun!

I have been asking my kids at Scouts and Guides but nothing was happening much, do not wish to commit if we cannot do it our end.
Ours is a Reading FC banner!

Celestine

On banners remember they have tightened up and only put up on Panama day, the Captain sends a note around to your room if you have it up all cruise.

We had a union jack up all 2005 cruise, but in 2007 we were told to take ours down.

I wanted to post this back when we were discussing the banners for Canal day, and I kept forgetting. This is the Mom's banner and the website I ordered it from is www.BuildASign.com
It wasn't expensive, and they delivered it really fast.

I'm not very creative, so it's kind of boring. I think creative people could easily make something better.

I like it Stacey!!!

I have recurring dreams/nightmares before every cruise or long vacation.
It's always the same. I am in the room unpacking and unpacking and unpacking, and before I know it, the whole trip is over and all I've done is unpack.
I hate that dream.

That could be a reality on this cruise! :scared:

I just realized from your post that I always say reoccuring, which is wrong. You would think if something occurs...it would reoccur, but sadly no it is just one of those grammatical errors I tend to repeat over & over again.
