I haven't been on the boards lately, been trying to catch up on everything before our trip.

I want to send my prayers out to all who are going thru a difficult time.

Happy Birthday to all that I have missed.

Happy Anniversary to everyone who is celebrating.

We have a Best Buddy as well. My DS4 calls my DS11 that. It was sad yesterday when we dropped DS11 off at camp. DS4 kept giving him hugs and saying 'I'm gonna miss you Best Buddy'.

We also went to Capitola for a bit yesterday. One of my favorite beaches in Northern California. It was cold but we had a nice visit.

My family will be heading down to South Carolina later this week.

Last month my cousin lost her husband. Last night she lost her dad. He had a heart attack while at a BBQ in SC. His wife (my mom’s sister) keeps saying she just buried her son-in-law, now she has to bury her husband.

Once again our whole family is in shock. No one expected this.

My aunt and uncle were married for 38 years. I can’t imagine her without him.

it seems the closer we get to the TOAL...the less time i'm able to spend on the thread...and it's when i need to be spending the most!!! i've been trying to pop on the other board, and keep up...but i really feel i am so far behind! how did it get to be sooooo close!!??? my goal this week is to at least try to stay on top of things! i'm sure that will be out the door by the end of the day! LOL!! oh well!
hope everyone had a great 4th of july weekend. i'm on my last day off til the trip. i took today off...and i really dont want to go back to watching the kids tomorrow. i've been spoiled these last few days of not having them ransack my house! tomorrow is back to reality!!

For those of you who have not gotten your DL tickets yet, I wanted to let you know about this deal. It's the $99 Summer Fun Pass. It's a 3 day ticket that can only be bought in Southern CA but a SoCal resident. However, the ticket can be used by anyone. All the reports I've seen on this was 1 person was denied use on one of the first days these tickets went into affect. Later reports, including a quote from DL Guest Services, states that no ID is required when using the tickets, only when purchasing. If anyone is asked for ID at the gates, they should ask for a supervisor.

Edited to add: I don't have a SoCal address, so unfortunately I can't help with buying tickets. Maybe some of other CA pirates can help.

From 6/16/08 through 8/30/08, Southern California residents can enjoy both Disneyland Resort theme parks for three days for only $99! (Same price for adults and kids.) I am having lunch tomorrow with some peeps from my old office...

We'll see if going back there is a possibility...

I know i need to find something though... It makes it hard to even look being this close to the trip...

I feel doomed.... (and not being able to cancel stinks too... since trip insurance won't cover a job loss that is under 3 years)

I might have to stay away from here for awhile.... I'm just not feeling the excitement...

On my family's first trip to WDW, 1984, my dad lugged around a huge shoulder-braced camera attached to a VCR is a shoulder case. The batteries alone had to weigh 15 lbs.

We had a big shoulder braced camera that held VCR tapes until just recently. How sad!

I didn't even think of that. It's going to be a sad day when they won't be allowed to do any airshows, fly bys, etc.


That's really why we don't kill ourselves to make it to 4th fireworks. We see Wishes at least once a year.

My favorite is Illuminations, but there is nothing like just strolling back to your hotel or grabbing a bus afterwards. Trying to get home from Boston was a complete nightmare!

You know how when you board and go to Parrot Cay and they try to steer you up to the buffet?? Can you imagine all of us showing up mob style demanding entrance. Love it!!!

On our last cruise they tried to steer us to Parrot Cay. They were literally waving us there & I stopped & said, "We can't go to Topsiders?" I must've had a pitiful look on my face because the CM responded, "Oh no no go right ahead!"



Slow at work yesterday.Which is good as I chomped down on the inside of my cheek and talking is irritating.



Staples is having their penny sale on 3 items. Got some folders and pencils for the kids and myself.

oooh I better get to Staples. Another thing I have to have done before the TOAL is to have their school clothes, supplies, etc. all set to go.

I'm DISing and no one is bugging me to make them breakfast, or give up the computer so they can play Webkinz. I don't have to remind anyone to make their bed or practice piano & clarinet today. I'm not hearing anyone yell "Stop it!" or "It's my turn!" Ahhhhhhh! Nice break today.

I had my first cruise related dream.. for some reason ibounce was there and i had my sunglasses on and she helped me find my cabin. Only it wasn't a DCL set up for cabins but was similiar to the one that i took with my parents for my Dad's 70th b'day years ago. Then i asked her why she was there 'cause she wasn't supposed to be ( was in the WB Cruise) and she said she figured that she would go on this cruise too and be my roomie.. then Eric ( DS#2) showed up in the cabin and he said as long as DH wasn't there that he was there.. i then went to dinner .. what a strange dream.. ..

OMG I keep having the same reoccuring dream or really I should say nightmare. I get on the cruise & open my suitcase & realize I never packed ANY of my dresses or dress shoes. I start panicking thinking, "Okay what port is next? Do we have an excursion planned? Is there a mall nearby?"

And here I thought you'd be impressed by the fact it was wood fired. It's something like 15 years old - one of the very first things DM & DD installed up at the woods. Along with a changing shed next to it, and an old Airstream trailer affectionately known as the Mouse House.
The Woods have gown up a bit since then - heck - it's even got power now. And last year... we got a flush toilet.

Our crack crew of wenches and swabbies have been working hard to come up with a challenge worthy of this group of pirates. We have accumulated an extensive list of buried treasures and have changed the game a bit. We have gone to a point system where you will be given a fairly large list of items that could be photographed with your team, each with a point value depending on how difficult they are. This will let everyone have fun in either finding a bunch of easy treasures (for lower points) or going after those really difficult ones for the big points. We are still planning on having it on the day after Aruba around 10:30am. We are still going to limit the hunt to about an hour so we call all enjoy lunch. The list is too long in my opinion for anyone to try to get all of the treasures so there will be some tactical thinking about what treasures you can accomplish. This should be alot of fun for everyone.

DW, was very ill over weekend was just 'sick' vomiting all Sunday not sure why, food or bug, but was very unwell.

DS-Stephen is getting ready for Scout camp next weekend, DD Alice just had her Guides one.

Booked a Tux, even though last time I took a suit and maybe I will take one again, but felt like booking it, Booked on website $88, noticed DCL booklet says $95 for this cruise, the normal price is $85 + the damage fee.

Booked a hotel at Heathrow pre flight as we have to check in early so we do not have to drive across London at 5am to check in and then have a 11.5 hour flight.

Good luck to everyone with GTY, hope the GTY fairy comes and gives some upgrades later this week, my guess around the 10th.

Doctor Who ended last Saturday and was the most watched programme of all UK TV Last week, and even Wimbledon when it went into overtime with some late match'es.

Is funny.... had a funny thought today, I firstly wished it was August 13th and we were on holiday, but then thought, I do not want to 'wish my live away' every day until the cruise should be important and not wasted, but I really want to be there now!

One of my favorite places!! I was telling my husband that next year I want to rent a house in Capitola for the week or go camping at New Brighton beach for the week. The boys want to go camping, I want the house. Since they out number me it will probably be camping. At least I'll be close to Capitola and can go for the day.

I will be back that way Saturday to pick the boys up from camp at Frontier Ranch.

It wasn't expensive, and they delivered it really fast.

I'm not very creative, so it's kind of boring. I think creative people could easily make something better.

My cruise plans are complete, apart from getting to the airport,

I have all USA transfers booked, all Disneyland ADR's, Tickets etc, and Palos and Shore trips organised, and even travel back form ship, day room at Hyatt and A Car to take us home from the Airport.

I think nows too late to loose an weight pre cruise, diets start Septmeber 1st.
