Thanks, to everyone for the well-wishes for Hanna. She still had a fever today. She did aske if she could go into the pool for a bit to cool off. The pool is 84 degrees so I let her go in for a bit. She seemed cooler but then again this afternoon her fever went up high again. So going to call the Dr. again tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is it ? flu ? I so hope she can recover soon !! it's so sad when a kid is unwell !!!!

... here I'm having a rough time with work ( two colleagues "fired" without notice last Friday ! ) and I'm worried about my dear Mom ; she had open-heart-surgery in January , is still unwell ... might be another serious desease ...
So my July will be spent partially in Milano ( dreaming about the cruise ) partially at my parents' place - trying to "understand what's going on ...

How funny! I actually looked at ordering this EXACT vest and tie for Paul!!!! I am still looking around. He said plain black is fine but I thought a Disney or Mickey accessory would be super fun!

There is no need to say sorry! I am glad that you will have some extra time to be with your mom and hope that you are able to figure out what is going on so that you do not need to worry about her as much. It is so difficult when someone you love is not doing well. You have a lot going on and I hope that you are able to find happy and peaceful time dreaming about our cruise!

I have to shower first as I just finished jogging 5K...and I did it!!!! I jogged the whole 5K today!!!!

I'll answer on behalf of DGH ( Marco) !! HE doesn't like to dress up at all !!
He has to wear business suits all year round for his job ...
BUT for our 2007 cruise I got him very vest and bow tie

COULD NOT FIND GRUMPY ONES !!!

... so this Summer he WILL WEAR a tux just because he wants to wear those Mickey vest and tie !!!

I find "them" to be quite funny - NO ONE in ITALY would ever wear such vest/tie ................. but , as Ed said , DGH is on vacation !!! and can do whatever he likes to !!!

My brother just called they are DVC members I am assuming everyone has pre and post cruise hotel reservations already but he just found out that he needs to use 92 DVC points by the end of Aug. anyone looking to rent DVC points for a pre or post cruise stay let me know. He is going to loose them if he does not use them up. Thanks,,!!!!!!!

That is too bad about your brother's points...we just rented points last week!!! What a bummer! We just needed 2 nights though so it would not have been very many points. Hope he finds someone to take them!

Hello Everyone! My DD's dance group won a judge's award at a really big dance competition this spring!! As a result, their dance is posted online and they are now up for a national award for their dance.

I might just delete that blog entry. I have no clue what is happening. As I told Mel, we can see the page fine on our computers. These are the times that I don't love technology.

When Marco tries it...have him skip that blog entry and try the other blog entries. There could just be something about that one entry (I did just copy and paste the text so maybe there is something wrong in that part).

I will wait to hear what others say as well. Sorry that you are having problems!

What is your favourite item from Room service?
All Hands on Deck cheese platter (ok, the quality is hit or miss, it seems!); tortilla soup; pizza (again, quality is different every time!); Mickey Bar !!!

What pool do you like to hang out at?
The twins LOVE the Goofy pool not-so-hot tubs! So we spend alot of time there. I don't think I saw the adult pool until my 3d DCL cruise!

Do you order any stateroom gifts on arrival, or celebrations?
Nope, I'm waaaay too cheap!
Whose going to get their tickets first? USA/Brits? what state? Heck, we're still waiting on DH's passport (not that he needs it..but at this point they have his birth certificate!)


What is the one thing you what to do that you have never done before on the cruise? BYOB to the nightclubs! We've spent almost zero time in the adult night clubs, usually b/c we're so tired! I'd like to spend a little time there this year and enjoy the entertainment there!

Hope everyone had a great weekend (with pixie dust to Kritter's daughter and Kathy's son!). The baseball gods smiled on DS12's team again this weekend - they won their tournament, DS had some great hits, the sun was shining - wonderful weekend! That was the last tournament for the season...except for the Grand Finale....COOPERSTOWN in three weeks!!!! Woo Hoo! I predict some killer practice sessions between now and then!

My DH is not a member on the Dis but his answers would be pretty similar. Definitely no tux. Definitely dress shirt and tie and perhaps a jacket. Last time I panicked that he would HAVE to wear a jacket or be refused entry to Palo so he took one but looking back at the photos he definitely did not wear the jacket.

I will answer for DH...he will bring a tux. We are still working on finding a shirt & tie for it but he has really nice tux pants and jacket.

DS...I found really nice, new tuxes for boys on eBay and will be ordering him one this week.

Getting dressed up like this is a rare occasion for the family and I am going to take full advantage of the opportunity. Actually I think we all enjoy having an occasion to wear really nice clothing.

I'll answer for hubby. He likes to dress up on the cruise. He brings a suit and two dress shirts and wears them for formal night, dress up night and Palo along with a Mickey tie. Daniel and Jim have matching Mickey ties for Sunday night. We booked Palo for Thursday so Jim only has to dress up 2 times and the kids just once on formal night. I better get my family shot Sunday or I'm out of luck.

The rest of the week he wears Khaki or Navy Dockers and a polo shirt to dinner and maybe a tropical shirt one night.

Our friends husband has been giving us all a hard time about bringing a suit on a cruise. He'd prefer to go in shorts and sandals. She dragged out a photo album of another cruise they took and he wore a suit then so he can wear one again. I'm sure he'll change as soon as dinner is over. It probably reminds him of work and he'd like to forget that at best for the week.

And I'm also guilty of having a spreadsheet or two for our trip...

What is your favorite item from Room service? This question is best directed to our DS14 - last cruise, he signed himself out of the clubs every day at lunch so that he could order room service lunch for himself. OMG, he LOVED it. He felt like such an "adult" (...he was 11...)

What pool do you like to hang out at? Anywhere we can actually get a lounge chair!!

Do you order any stateroom gifts on arrival, or celebrations? nope, although I created a pirate chest of "goodies" as a surprise for the kids.

If you are guarantee status, have you heard anything yet? its often 35 days out, but seen some early ones recently. We were in a GTY 6 cabin and received our room assignment our room about 3 weeks ago (cabin 6542) - so at about 10 weeks. we're so excited for our first veranda room! (and shhh..it's a surprise for the kids!)

Whose going to get their tickets first? USA/Brits? what state? don't know...just don't want anyone to be "forgotten!!!

What is the one thing you what to do that you have never done before on the cruise? Sad to say, I gotta figure out how to relax....

Do you have a Kids contract for the cruise? IE Do not play with elevators, do not go in other peoples rooms, do not stay up beyond 12 midnight? meeting point at set times during the day, do not over eat?

Do you take your kids on shore trips or allow them to go on teenage ones or stay on ship?

Do they 'have to' eat with you? say Dinner.

YES I DO ALLOW IT, MY KIDS ARE NOW 13 AND NEARLY 11 AND I THINK IS A GREAT WAY FOR THEM TO LEARN ABOUT CHARGING MONEY, AND BEING ABLE TO SIGN.

If so do you tell them there is a limit?

I DO SET A LIMIT AND SAY IF THEY WENT OVER IT I CANCEL THE CHARGING, I CHECK AT GUEST SERVICES OFTEN. THEY USUALLY GIVE ME THE CHARGE SLIPS EACH EVENING. WHEN WE GO TO PALO THEY GO TO NORMAL DINNER AND THEY ORDER SMOOTHIES, I CONFIRM TO THE SERVER IN ADVANCE THATS OK. BUT THE SERVERS FLOGGED THEM THE LIGHTS OF PRINCESS OR PIRATE ON THEIR DRINKS!!

Attn: All Who Ordered Lanyards!!!!

They are here! However...there is a mistake in them...they are on BLACK lanyards with white printing instead of blue lanyards with white printing.

I am going to call and find out if there is anything that can be done about them...but...even with them on black...they are WONDERFUL!!!!!

The printing is clear, large and so nice. They are really nice quality lanyards and I love them.

To those of you who ordered a lanyard...would it bother you that they are black with white printing?

I would like to know what people think when I call the company. I will try to take a picture and post it (but I have NO clue how to post pictures...I know...I should know how to do this).
