Happy Friday, people!!! Have an excellent one!! :thumbsup2

Took my car into the garage this morning - it needs servicing and I'm desperately hoping they can fix the clunking sound that's developed where the convertible roof connects to the top of the front window... I then walked home through the park which was so beautiful and peaceful - a lovely start to the day... :cloud9: Also realised that we go to Barbados two weeks from today... :beach:

;) It IS indeed a good reason for a few drinks but I figure I better be sober and responsible since I'm the only adult around here able to take care of the kids.

And can any of you guys tell my exactly why my DH isn't taking his pain pills? He has them, he's allowed to take them, but he isn't. He's in enough pain that he lays in bed 24/7. He told me he doesn't move because it hurts. Well DUH! At 4am this morning he sounded like he was in pain so I asked him and he said yes. I reminded him about the little things called pain pills, at which point he said OK, he'd take one. I don't get it. His doc wrote him 3 refills of vicodin which should last for 2 weeks if he was taking it regularly, but he thinks that 1 1/2 days of it will suffice? I'm really tired this week and my patience and sympathy are wearing thin.

BTW, HAPPY FRIDAY!!! I have a PTO fundraiser to work tonight and there seem to be alot of PTO members bickering about this and that. I REALLY don't need this crap. So I think after I get home tonight and the kids are in bed I AM going to drink a few.

I'm not a big fan of taking medications - though if I was in that kind of pain I think I wouldn't have a problem with it!!

Hey Nikki! Yes, I will be glad! Plus my DH needs a vacation as he's had a tough winter what with illness and work, poor guy!

I can't remember if I mentioned this before, but he was all set to leave Citi (and get the usual 3 months off) to set up a small stockbroking business with some friends/colleagues. However, his boss got wind off it and proposed a change for him if he stayed. So he decided to stay and I'm really happy about it - I just know it's the right thing for him... :goodvibes

Abby,

Personaly I take the pain pills until it no longer is needed, but thats just me.

But I will say, sometime the pain hurts less than the taste or effect of the pills.

I can't take percoset, I will losse my cookies everytime, the few times I was in the hosital, they wanted to give me that, I warned them but they insisted, Good thing I had a bucket close by :lol

hello everyone. i had a very eventful day at school today. well my day was going perfect when at the end of 4th period(10:30am) the principle comes on the loud speaker saying that the school is in lock down for the rest of the day and that noone is allowed in or out of the building. luckily for me, 4th period is my last class then i got to my other high school or dance. but during 5th period i had to go to the attendence office and get my name signed out and be escorted to the bus to take me to my other school. its all over the local news channel here on Long Island(News 12 Long Island). i heard sooooooo many stories that were not true. so i called one of my friends and asked what happened after i left the school, and she said the school was in the auditorium or the cafiteria for about 2 and a half hours of doing nothing but just sitting there and talking to each other. then they had to go to their lockers immediatly and evacuate the school at 1:30pm. we usually get out at 2:15. but i left at 11:15 to get on my bus to my other high school so i was worried about my friends. i will let you all know what happends at 5:00pm tonight so i'll know the full stry lol.

I don't usually take medicine either but yeah, I would be taking it in this case!! I think the last time I even took an aspirin or any sort of any medication was in early January! I called the doctors office today to "tell" on DH. And they said he needs to be taking anti-inflammatories (at the very least) and moving around every hour to get the circulation going. His body isn't used to being idle, considering he walks 6 hours a day normally.

Abby, I hope your DH feels better soon!!:goodvibes

P.S. and you too!!!:goodvibes

Thanks! He's relented and is now taking advil, getting off his bum a little, and using ice more. And I'm sitting here with a DRINK! :drinking1 If I sit here too long I might end up posting some nonsense, so stick around. :rotfl2:

What a way to end the week Samantha! When I was in highschool (I'm sounding old here. LOL) we had bomb threats all the time. Everyone got so indifferent to them and it got to the point they quit evacuating us from school because they were happening so frequently. Is this the first time your school has locked down? My kids' school did a lockdown drill earlier in the year, but they didn't forewarn parents. I wish they had because Gwynne didn't handle it so well. We could have at least explained what it was about. Instead, she was telling me how she was afraid that a bad guy was going to get her in school and they had to hide from the bad guy and be quiet.

Hello Hello Hello Hello Hello Hello Hello :rotfl2: Where is everyone? It's Friday night! Don't tell me I am the only one with no exciting life to speak of! I got done with the PTO function. We paid a guy a heck of alot of money to drive down from Michigan to play spoons. :lmao: Seriously. That was my thrill for the evening. I'm easy to thrill. :rotfl:
