It sounds like a great trip! Since it's only 5 hours from us, we go to Gatlinburg every so often. Actually that's where we got married. And in 2005 we stayed in a gorgeous cabin (called Mountain Dew. lol) in the Gatlinburg Falls resort for our family vacation. It was a terrific vacation!!! We've not been to Dollywood yet but will include that on our next trip down there.

We stayed here on our way home in 2006 after our Double Dip Cruise,
We have wanted to go back, and now seems like a good time to return

Its about 12 hours from here, so we will stay overnight in New Market VA
Just up the road from Luray Cavvens.

Good morning.... well, afternoon.... just back in from Jake's soccer game - back on the winning track!

I'm beat - losing that hour sucks, especially because I didn't get to bed until after 2AM.

Been researching 2008 vacations plans

We are headed to a cabin outside of Pigeon Forge TN this July and will spend a couple of days at Dollywood.

Stayed at Oak Haven back in 2006, loved the place, so we are headed back for 5 days this year. That and a couple days down and another few more back, should be on the road for 10 days this year.

Hey Ed, we love Pigeon Forge and Dollywood, most of my mom's family live just outside of Knoxville(she has lots of family- 7 sisters), we used to go to Tennessee every summer for a month, and we would go to Dollywood a couple of times every summer since it opened. Sounds like a great vacation, I haven't been to Dollywood in a while though.

Fun day today here. We worked to completely redo our basement. We have a finished basement (half basement as the garage is on this level) but have NEVER done a good job of organizing it. It generally has been a depository of everything - i mean EVERYTHING we don't need. WE had hoped it would be a playroom for the kids.

Well today, we cleaned out 11 bags of trash, four bags of giveaway, save for the little one kind of stuff. AND we changed the whole focus of the room. It is a long skinny room and we had done a poor job of organizing it as if it was a square room. NOW we have a long skinny organization. The treadmill is next to the slider walkout. The entertainment center backs into that. We have a "tv area" and a "play area' behind it.

It is really astounding how different the space looks. Night and day. Wish we would have taken "before" pics because the "after" is so dramatically different.

Bottom line. I'm exhausted. What a load of work from about 2 to 6 p.m. But what a difference in our worlds. NOW to keep it that way!

Sounds great, I love to do that kind of stuff, I am an organizing freak!!

On the way home we stopped in New Market Va, and went to Luray. It was my first visit back in over 30 years, Also went on Skyline Drive and stopped at Hogwallow Flats , It's a family tradition dating back to the 50's.

My Dad took my Brothers and I there over the years, and then my older Brother had taken his kids there , so I had to do it with Mine.
Mine you Caitlin was rolling her eyes( as only a kid can do) when I told her I was taking her picture for the family.

We also did the Natural Bridge that trip.

It's beautiful in that whole area of Virginia.

What's everyone doing today? It is actually really beautiful and about 40 here. We took the kids down to a sledding hill and did that for an hour. We got tired before we got cold! It was crowded too, probably over 100 people there. Then the kids and I went "snowboarding" on our sleds down our front yard hill, and played outside for a while. Now we are decorating cut-out cookies and stuffing our faces. It's a perfect winter day. Too bad we have to go back to work and school tomorrow!

We didn't do much today. Lazy day, we went to lunch at Olive Garden, and nothing else.

Abby - I saw on the news how much snow you got out there in Ohio! Hope it doesn't get warm soon for that fast melt-off and the flooding that comes along with it....

Today was a day of maneuvering closed roads here.... lots of flooding and lots of downed trees and wires...

That's not good. Is the rain over for you now? We already had high water and flooding because of the rain/ice from Tuesday. There was some melting today, and now we are supposed to have another big rain this week sometime. What's this about global warming? We got about 14 inches or so of snow, but my family lives in central Ohio, which got about 20 inches. That's very unusual around here to get that much at one time! 3 years ago we got 18 inches, and that shattered the blizzard of 1978 record. I hope everyone made it through this crazy weather this weekend OK. I'm crossing my fingers for no more snow, because any more shoveling from now on this season is up to me. I help him shovel already but I can't do our driveway myself!! (I think it's time to invest in a snow blower)

Hello everyone!!!!!!!!!!!! i've got great news!!! i got home from my last competition and well we got 3rd place in lyrical, 3rd place in kick and 1ST PLACE IN POM!!!!! i will try to post up pictures tomorrow cause im really tired right now cause i got home at about 8:00pm and well we lost an hour of sleep last night LOL. and plus we made tee shirts so im going to take more pictures tomorrow. well im going to bed now.
