We're at the business end of our countdown now and I'm happy to report that it all feels under control. Everything seems to be booked and I'm just sitting here hoping I feel better soon...

No, this guy (or a gal) was telling me how his DIS Meet group is so huge that even a things or two from a Dollar store can cost him an easy $100 + deal. So I gave him my list.

Anyone else starting to panic? I just looked at the calendar and realized that I have 18 days till we leave for DL and the cruise. Of those, 4 days will be at Yosemite, and another 5 will be at our Tahoe place, with houseguests, away from all that needs packing. Nine days to do everything. And I just found that DS8 has outgrown his "dressy" clothes - growth spurt. Only his t-shirts and shorts still fit. Ack!

Ayumi, you have some great ideas (or so I think). There may be a couple duplicates in peoples FEs. I have a couple of things but I wish I could think of something else that is easy to transport, inexpensive and representative of Southern California.

A general question about the FE...are we just planning to randomly distribute things as we see fit?

Have you visited the Disney Warehouse near you? I bought some nice stuff there a couple of months back. This is exactly why I am not doing the exchange. No room in my luggage for the stuff I would REALLY want to buy!

If you mean THE cruise tickets, this family from Japan I met only "virtually" is a castaway club member and the dad said he got the tickets in mail just today (in Japan Standard Time). They are on the same boat with us. He also mentioned that everybody should get them within a day or two.

I hope they have my correct address...

I have an extra Lesport Sac snuck in for that. However, my shopping list is not so long, yet.

painted tiles from the ports
HRC shirts (my DH's work clothes )
booze

some pictures from Shutters

I think that if you have a travel agent the docs come to her/him first and then it's up to the TA to get them to you.

I don't know. I've never really participated before. We got ours too late (at boarding) on our last cruise so we never put our name in the hat...yet everyday we ended up with stuff in it. I'm assuming random distribution as you see fit - unless anyone else has another idea.

I've been wondering about FE gifts, too. Do we have any guidelines that I just didn't notice? For example, are we distributing daily, once, or some other frequency, and are we doing gifts for each person, each child, or each cabin? Sorry if I just didn't see the info. - if it's there, could someone point me in the right direction?

Hi Jeff!

This virtual friend and I have same TA who is based in Florida (it is a Japanese firm). I booked way ahead of him, however, he paid in full much earlier than I did. Plus he is a castaway club & DVC member.

Only stuff I got from TA recently was a DVD and cruise brochure packet, gift and tux order form packet.

So they should have my address.

unless someone is organizing the true exchange , DD4 and I will do "rounds" whenever we can;
one item at a time;
to whomever has FE up.

Otherwise (when DD gets tired or bored), I will do the rounds all by myself and I am happy with it (I just love giving STUFF to people).

I will put my STUFF wheres there's pockets for (including moms & dads) or some things I make just for kids. Depends on how many FE and how much STUFF. No particular rules.

If, like I said, someone organizes an official exchange, then I would have to do more shopping.

Thanks, Ayumi. The kids and I have been having fun picking up stuff for the FEs, and are really looking forward to distributing it, but I was worried that I was missing something. I like the one item at a time approach - keeps the excitement up. Sounds like we're okay!
