8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

10 years old is the minimum age to get certified.

6 more year to go, but definitely a great thing to look up for!! Thanks for the info & the great story.

Atlantic City Salt Water Taffy but if they have that in Seattle maybe I will do Atlantic City $5 Poker Chips instead :) or Disney Poker Playing Cards????

My DH would love a chip, while I would like to compare how Seattle & AC taffies differentiate.popcorn::

hehehe well I guess I have to make a trip into the city;) I will get a bunch of different flavors. I will bring the kids to the seattle fountain at the Seattle Center Maybe go to the Pacific Science Center while we are there (I need to renew my membership anyway:) )

Hi...We are doing the same...checking in at dl hotel on the 6th...All booked except for transportation from lax to the hotel!

:goodvibes Wow! So cool! We should be arriving at LAX by 11 am... and then off to Disneyland Hotel, too! I booked the dinner with Goofy for that evening... I just hope we are not too tired to eat:rotfl:

Dear Friends,

The design I was talking about is not actual door magnet. My plan was to posted inside the door for family use.

Here's my first attempt to post it.

You can just copy this and print it on what ever paper you want. I used a photo paper and came out superb!!

I am also creating a REAL magnet which I will place it on the door out side.
Addition to that, I went to Home Depot and got a few disney color chips, cut out, punched a hole (I had a mickey shape puncher from DL!!) put those ribbons you use for balloons, curled them, put small magnet strip on the back, and voila! You see this on magnetic door sign thread and yes, I stole the idea again.

:thumbsup2 That is absolutely awesome!!! I will indeed make one for our family's inside door!

May I ask you Disney cruise veterans some questions?

1. How do you pre-pay tips? We are thinking along this line so we don't have to worry later on. We figure we can keep some cash to add to it for exceptional service.

2. Kid's Club-When you take them at night, do you drop them off in their pajamas or regular clothes?

3. Dining-How many tables for four do you normally see?
Also, anyone else out there have food allegies? I printed out the medical forms to notify them about my allergy to nuts and pineapple. The form wasn't really the right thing.

4. Palo-We really wanted brunch but we got dinner. When we get on board, are there more slots for brunch than online? I would much prefer the brunch. I will live with dinner.

Thanks! That's all I have for now!

Thanks!!
I will try to make one with a map on it to post next to this itinerary so kids can have even better idea where they are. I will post it here once it is done.

hi, i can't believe it's less than a month now! wanted to ask what the men will be wearing on formal/semi-formal nights? my husband, the reluctant cruiser, has a tux (i'm guess i should be glad that it still fits from our wedding 15 yrs ago) and likes to wear it but does not want to be the only one. is anyone else planning on wearing a tux?

also, i live within driving distance of the port, probably less than one hour away with no to little traffic on a Sunday morning. but i booked a hotel (crowne plaza in san pedro) just in case. my fear was that my family always leaves later than we plan to and i can picture myself being a wreck on the drive down if we are late (i'm sure my husband would want to avoid this too!) the cost is $215.46 for room, fees/tax, parking while at the port, 2 drinks, 2 breakfasts (my DD10 eats free), and shuttle to the port. Sounds great right but ... on other threads, i've read 1) that in LA, people get to the port really early and 2) that the shuttles don't leave until 10 am. does anyone have any experience with this?

your help is appreciated, i'm looking forward to meeting you all on board!

Welcome! My son sees a doctor in La Canada. We are there every three weeks. I grew up in Pasadena.

My DH isn't wearing a tux my my DS is. I found one this last weekend. He looks too adorable in it!;) My DH will wear a black suit on formal night and a navy blue suit on semi-formal night. We haven't been on a DCL cruise before but I have been on 3 Carnival cruises and many men wore tuxedos. We are also planning to get to the port ASAP on Aug.10. I really want to get Tea with Alice tickets.

Suzcruz, in partial answer to your questions, my DH is planning to wear a suit rather than a tux. I wish he'd wear a tux, but I'm lucky to get him into a suit for anything other than work, weddings, or funerals! :rolleyes1

On a related note, I'm curious as to what other women are wearing. I have a packable formal (long) dress that I love, but don't want to bring it if I'm going to be the only (or almost only) one dressed that way. Anyone?

No tux here. In fact we are skipping formal night so we can not bring all the "stuff" that it means to do so. With us being in Calif for more than 2 weeks, we need the packing space for other stuff and we've done the formal thing on the last 3 cruises and will again in the fall.

I have a tux - a cheapy one! - that I will bring if hubbies are wearing them, but I was just going to wear a suit coat for dinner with a shirt and no tie on semi formal night.

How about Pirate night? Anyone dressing up for that?? pirate: We all have pirate costumes but I can't get my girls to bring them. Ahh...teenagers. :snooty:

We are all wearing something special for pirate night for sure.. My two are still little enough to wear what I put on them. I will appreiciate it while it lasts!

Hi all...Just getting a chance to check in today...Hope everyone had a good one....Another day closer!!

I am still trying to decide on transportation from the airport to the hotel, does anyone have any suggestions on someone they have used at LAX in the past? Since I will be arriving at night I want to be sure I have someone there for us.

Hi Michelle! Lizzie owes Samantha an email and she knows it! It really is getting closer, isn't it? :scared1:

Hi Jeff - Please let Lizzie know that Sam understands that she is busy! Remember when summer meant that you had more free time:confused3 .

My husband, FIL & Uncle are all wearing suits on formal night. I have a black dress to wear but it is not long. Now that I am talking about this, I think I had better have DS try on his black dress shoes - I have a feeling that he outgrew them:eek: !

There are usually slots available when you get on board for Palo's. We will be in line for this too since we have a party of 5 for dinner and brunch but the online reservation made me book 2 tables in order to accomodate all of us instead of just 1.

Isn't that the truth about summer. I think I run more in the summertime than during school. This week was a camp at the Science Center. Oy.

Re Palo - don't worry as I have never had a problem changing, adding or somehow doing something different with/to my Palo reservations at boarding.

Happy Wednesday all. We leave for California 3 weeks from tomorrow. :cool1:
