7th January 2007, Dancing Queens Thread CONTINUED

I've been thinking about you Mandy and hoping that you are all having a fantastic vacation.

I really really need a vacation...... I will be glad when we get the new house in order and everything is done. All this manual labour is meant for someone much younger than me :lmao:

Robin,
I am glad he got stranded home too. Its going to take some time to be able to travel around the Vestal, Binghamton area. That Walmart and plaza is where we shop most of the time...I'm thinking there will be a lot of merchandise destroyed.

I havent been out today, ( working on my articles )but will have to venture out tomorrow. So we will just have to see where we can get to.

By the way one of my next articles will be about meeting friends through Disney. I was just making sure its alright to use pictures of any of you all???

Official moving day is October 4th.

How was your vacation Mandy?

Everything dried up in your area yet Betsy?

Good Morning ladies!
Went into town yesterday and came home through the worse of the flood damaged area. Now that the waters have receded, you can see all the damage. A lot of the houses have "condemned" notices on them. The piles outside of peoples houses are so sad.. Looks like everything that were in the houses is now trash.:sad2:
Most have lost everything and these are the same properties that just recovered from the last flood five years ago.:guilty:
Today is suppose to be very nice so we are going to walk to Salt Springs and see how that area fared. I know Falls brook flooded.

Robin,
Good luck with moving day...Its a lot of work, but so nice to finally be able to settle!

Mandy,
Are you getting back into your normal routine? I love my vacations, but sometimes its nice to get home and back to normal day to day living. Of course that's when I start planning my next vacation..or two vacations.

We were thinking of south america, for our 40th, in July of 2013, but our government advises against it.
So now we are almost sure we will be going to Ireland, and maybe a stop or two in another part of Europe. Maybe England, or Tuscany, or France. We looked at Spain, but it is suppose to get very hot in July.
Mandy seeing as this part of the world is your stomping grounds, where would you recommend?
Have you ever been to Ireland? There are so many options, its mind boggling.
We're also not sure if we want to go on our own or use a tour. Maybe part of each... Just have to do some research, but to me that's part of the fun!

Well I have to get my cleaning done and figure out what I will be cooking for the crew today.
I hope you both have a great day.:wizard:

:wave2: Hey Dancing Queens

I can't believe I've been back a week already, it has flown by. We all had an amazing time on holiday, I hope you've had a chance to see our photos on Facebook. I will get round to a trip report, but it's been a mad week with getting back into a routine, the girls getting back to college and Becky's boyfriend heading up to Uni.

Betsy, it sounds like you're going to have an amazing trip. Will the Disney Magic be in Europe in 2013 ? I bet that would be a fantastic cruise to do. I have been to Ireland as my dad is from Northern Ireland, but we visited family and didn't really do anything touristy. I would imagine that there are some beautiful castles to visit. I know my friend was hoping to travel over here and she found the trains and general getting around to be very expensive, so maybe going on a tour would be best. Where else would you like to visit ? :)

Anyway girls, I hope you're all keeping well, good luck with your move Robin :wizard:

So Betsy, did you find a new dishwasher.

I hope the move goes well too. I like the thought of having the new house.....so nice and peaceful out there in the country. But I have a hard time leaving this house behind. I just feel so comfortable here after being here for 25 years:thumbsup2

I am sure that I will adjust and be just fine.

Betsy, so sad with all the flooding and losing all of their belongings. I have no cause to be feeling sad about leaving my house behind when I still have all of my useless crap and right now 2 nice houses :goodvibes

Mandy, life is back to normal busy I see.

Will be looking forward to reading your trip report when you get to it. :surfweb:

Robin,
I did find a new dishwasher. :cool1:Its will be delivered next Sat. and they will take our other one away.:thumbsup2 This makes me happy as we don't have a truck anymore, and I hate junk just hanging around the property.

You will feel settled in, in no time!:cloud9:
I wondered when we first moved here, how long it would take to really feel at home here. I'm not sure when that happened, but it didn't take long. I love it here. After Mike retires, (in the not too distant future)I would like to live here in the spring/summer/fall and then travel to warmer climes in the winter. My brother does this. They live in my Moms old place in the nice weather, and then live in SC in the winter. Good plan!::yes::

Mandy,
I am now thinking we may just stay in Ireland for the whole time. There are so many places Id like to see. Also I am worried that we will be spending too much time traveling. :scratchin
I did hear that Europe, in particular England, is very expensive these days, but seems to be the safer travel option right now. I have a lot of time to think about it. We will see what the future brings in that and go with the flow.
Getting back to routine after a vacation takes a bit of time, but its always good to be home for me after being away for a while. Glad you had an awesome time. I will wait patiently for your TR.:rolleyes1

I have a house to clean after the weekend, and my lawn is still in need a mowing in places... Its a BIG yard!...LOL

Have a good day my friends!:wizard:

Betsy, I think the living in warm climates during the cold months is a plan lots of us aspire to:thumbsup2

I have a question about the state park that backs onto your property. Is there camping there? We are thinking about expanding our travels, if we decide to keep the trailer. We thought it would be great to come near to you and Mike. Won't be this upcoming summer likely with the cruise and all but you never know.

Hey Mandy....... what's new over there. My friend Val is in England right now spending time with her daughters and her other friends and family. She gets back on Saturday and then we go on a cruise with her and her husband and a couple of those English friends of hers at the end of October :boat:

I'm looking forward to that cruise. Other than leaving my cats behind in a strange house, I really need the rest and relaxation time for myself.

Robin,
There is camping, but its just a few tent sites and none for RVs. We'd love to have you come and visit though. Anytime.

What family did he come into?

Congratulations on the arrival of another grandson Betsy.

He is Mike and Lori's son... My eldest. It's their 9th. I don't think my youngest(Doug) and wife are planning any more children. That's OK as Emily their last, has enough personalty for three. She is too cute!

She danced into the kitchen where I was doing dishes, last Sunday, and announced that Grandpa was being annoying,( he was probably picking on her , as he does a lot.) to which I replied "he is; How so?" She informed me he wouldn't let her walk.... I said "he wont let you walk?" and she said "Well... he will , but he's still being annoying." Then she giggled and skipped away ...LOL!
She is 3 years old and such a pip... Just too funny.

Each one is a joy in their own way.:cloud9:

:wave2: Hey Dancing Queens

Sorry I've been MIA, it's been a mad few weeks. This weekend was the annual DIS Girly Weekend, we went to Cardiff in Wales, and we had a great time. I've got lots of photos on FB and I've done a mini trip report on the UK Community forum. I've also made a start on my holiday trip report, I will sort the links out for you when I get a moment

Betsy, congratulations on becoming a grandma again, he's gorgrous ::yes::

Robin, have you moved yet ? Lots of Love and Luck in your new home

I hope you're all keeping well, take care :)

Hey here Mandy!

Yes we have moved but we still have the old house until the end of November.

We have no internet yet at the new place so I've not been online very much lately.

I will have to save your trip reports for later after we get our internet up and running.

This weekend :confused3

I am off to Miami to catch the Norwegian Pearl for a week away of rest and relaxation:woohoo:

I am so looking forward to it and yet there are a ton of things that need doing here. I almost feel guilty leaving right now but I think once I get on that plane on Saturday, I will forget all about it :lmao:

:wave2: Hey Dancing Queens

Robin, you must be so excited about your cruise, I hope you have a fantastic time, I look forward to seeing your photos ::yes:: Don't feel guilty, just go and have fun. Is anyone else sailing with you or is it just you and hubby ?

Betsy, I loved the article, what a lovely surprise to see some of the photos from the Dancing Queen cruise (and a shock to see Paul as the cowboy :rotfl2::rotfl2:). What a great read :thumbsup2
