7th January 2007, Dancing Queens Thread CONTINUED

 Hey Dancing Queens

I just wanted to share some news with you :)

You know that Paul & I had booked to sail on the Panama Canal cruise in January (though you may have forgotten as we booked it over a year ago :rotfl2::rotfl2:)

Well we decided that we really didn't want to leave the girls at home in the middle of winter, so we've changed our plans. We are now going to WDW at the end of October for a week (yay, bring on the Food & Wine Festival) and then we're taking our first cruise on the Disney Magic for the first week of November

We're also meeting up with several friends in WDW, which has all added to the excitement

:yay::yay::yay:

Have a great day girls :)

That's exciting Mandy.

The Panama Canal cruise sounds great too but I can understand why you don't want to leave the girls home for that.

I'm sure that you will have a lot of fun.

I've been on the Magic twice, once for a 4 day (or was it 5 day :confused3 ) cruise and then for the 7 day Western.

It is so similar to the Wonder, it's almost like being on the same ship.

Also the Magic will be fresh out of dry dock then won't it?

You can report to me any upgrades so that I know what to expect when I go in December:thumbsup2

I've been to WDW during the Food and Wine festival a few times too. I'm not a foodie nor an alcohol drinker, so it was kind of lost on me. Had fun at the parks still though.

 Hey Girls

What are you up to this weekend ? anything nice ?

Paul & I are off to Birmingham tomorrow night for a meal and staying over, so we're looking forward to that ... and no doubt we'll spend a lot of time chatting about our holiday plans ::yes::

Other than that, we haven't got any other plans

Have a great weekend girls, whatever you're up to :)

How was your weekend away Mandy? Did you have a great time?

I was away also on the weekend with the trailer and the airplane;)

Today I went with Steph to pick out her wedding dress.

That was fun.

She found one she liked quite easily and she looks beautiful in it :goodvibes

Hey Dancing Queens :dance3:

Sorry I haven't been around much lately, it's been a bit crazy on the UK Community as we got ready for our Girly Weekend away. If you want to read all about our antics have a look here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2533452

We had a great time, it was so much fun ::yes::

What did you get up to ? Anything nice ? I hope you all had a great weekend :)

:wave2: Mandy.

I haven't looked at your pictures yet but I'm glad you ladies had such a great time.

I didn't do anything exciting on the weekend which was kind of nice for a change.

The weather has been so fantastic here all summer long. I've really been enjoying it. Nice and hot and sunny most of the time..... my favourite kind of weather. :cheer2:

 Hey Girls

I hope you're having a lovely weekend. What are you up to ? anything fun ? We have got a very quiet weekend ahead of us. My dad has gone to Ireland for two weeks, so I'm spending more time round my mums

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Morning Mandy.

My weekend is really just starting since I just got out of bed a few minutes ago:rotfl:

Nothing is really planned except for maybe dinner with friends this evening.

I've got a ton of things that have been neglected around the house this summer because of my surgery (and also my plain laziness :rotfl2: ). Maybe I should get to do a few of those things ;)

It's supposed to rain here later today so that might force me to stay inside and do something.

Enjoy your weekend. I should spend some time with my mom this weekend too.

Monday I'm going to take the train to London to meet up with Liz.

She is going to go shopping for her bridesmaid dress for Alex's wedding.

Normally I would just drive there as I have been all summer checking on her house while she has been away working at camp. It is only a bit more than an hours drive away.

But she and Travis have 2 weeks off before they go back to camp for the month of September and they are planning on coming here on Monday night.

So I thought I would take the train, meet Liz to do dress shopping and then we can all drive back here together in her car. No sense in me taking my car all the way there and then bringing back 2 cars.

Besides I haven't taken the train since the kids were small, so it will be a something different.

Hi Dancing Queens

I hope you've had a good week

Robin ~ How did Liz get on with her Bridesmaid dress hunt ? Did she find anything ?

Well it's a Bank Holiday weekend here, so Paul and I are heading up to Manchester to do a bit of shopping and for a nice meal on Sunday, and then he's got the day off on Monday, so we're looking forward to that

Have a great weekend girls, whatever you're up to :)

Hey there Mandy.

Sounds like you have a nice weekend planned.

On Sunday we are going to a 55th wedding anniversary party for relatives of Rick's. That should be okay, not fun maybe, but okay ;)

Liz found a couple of dresses that she was okay with at the store on Monday but didn't purchase one.

She came home here on Monday night and then I remembered that there is that exact same store in the city about an hour in the other direction from us.

So we went there on Wednesday. They had a ton more dress styles to choose from and she found one that she liked better there.

So the bridesmaid dress has been purchased.

Are you getting excited about your upcoming cruise yet? I know that I am :woohoo:

Hey Mandy.

What level of Castaway Club Member are you?

When you go on your cruise can you take note of when the Castaway Club Reception is held?

I'd kind of like to know, so that I can make sure that I can attend it this time.:thumbsup2

Hope all is well with you and your family.

 Hey Girls

 It's Friday ~ Yay !!

What are your plans for this weekend ? anything nice ?

We have got a very quiet weekend, with nothing planned as yet. Not that I mind as me and Paul are off to Cardiff next weekend to meet up with our Welsh friends

Robin ~ That's great that Liz has found a bridesmaid dress, that kind of shopping can be a little stressful, so she did well to get one so quickly

We are Gold Castaway Club members, in fact this will be our last one as Gold members and then we're Platinum :yay:

Yes I will try to take note of the CC Reception. We haven't been to the reception for years now, as they went downhill a bit, but we ought to go just to see what changes have been made (hopefully they'll be serving Bahama Mamas again :rotfl2:)

I am getting very excited about our cruise, and our first time aboard the Disney Magic. The only thing that's been bothering me is Formal Night. Now we love getting dressed up for dinner, but I really do not fancy the whole ballgown thing. Instead I have bought a black summer maxi dress that I'm going to dress up with nice jewellery and sparkly shoes. We don't have much room with our suitcases due to the baggage restrictions on our flights, so I've decided to keep it simple. Even Paul isn't going down the tux or suit route, he's just going to wear a smart shirt and trousers

Have you been buying anything for your next cruise ?

Well girls, have a great weekend, whatever you're up to :)

Enjoy your weekend Mandy.

We have a long weekend here but of course it is raining right now and expected to rain some tomorrow too.

I'm not sure what we are going to do. We might take the trailer out to the airplane field but not while it is raining.

My nephew needs someone to help him move his stuff to college. He is going to the same one that Liz went to last year, so an hour away. My brother (his dad) has moved very far away and his mother is basically useless, so I may drive some of his stuff there for him.

I know what you mean about the Castaway Club reception. It had gotten so huge that it was ridiculous:rolleyes: It was taking over Wave Bands AND Diversions, way too many people.

Now that there are less people invited, I thought that I would check it out too. On our last cruise, which was the 4 day, everything was all crammed into the same morning and we couldn't get to it all. Now on the 7 day I think (hope) they spread it out a bit so that I can enjoy all the perks of being a Platinum member:thumbsup2

Don't stress too much about the formal night dinner. You will see all manner of dress. What you describe will be perfect.

No I haven't been buying anything new for my next cruise, yet. Probably won't bother much. I'm not one for dressing up overly much for dinner and I'm happiest during the day in just shorts and a tshirt. I'm just a simple kinda gal.

Hello Ladies!

Whew!:faint:...I have been one busy pup. We just got back from Assateague Island, in Maryland. Got evacuated actually...
We went with my DS and DDIL, and their 8 kids. Tent camped, in the dunes .
Got lots of sun, and surf and gave a bit of blood too...LOL
We went for 4 days, last Sun., to last Thurs. We ended up leaving Weds. night around 7PM. as they were driving around, asking everyone to pack up everything but one tent, and leave first thing in the AM. Instead we decided to just go then to beat the traffic. Got home around 2AM. It was a great time!
I have pics, Ill post ASAP:thumbsup2

Then it was back to work, getting the next edition of the newsletter out for this month.

BUT I am off for the next two days:yay:....So I can rest up from my vacation...LOL Tent camping is for the younger people...I'm taking my RV next time....Well as soon as we can afford a new truck with less miles on it, to tow it anyway!:rolleyes1

Well Im off to watch some TV with Mike...:happytv:

I hope you are having a good weekend:wizard:

 Hey Dancing Queens

:cool1: Yay, it's the weekend ! :cool1:

Betsy ~ it's great to hear from you. I clicked on the link, and I thought your photos were lovely. The sky and sea were so blue, I wish I'd been there too. I loved the pic of you and Albert (too cute) :)

Robin ~ I hope you enjoyed your long weekend, and that the weather got better so you could do something nice

Kelly ~ Where are you ????????? We miss you ::yes::

Well I was supposed to be heading to Cardiff tomorrow to meet up with some friends, but Paul's dad was rushed into hospital yesterday with a suspected minor stroke. He seemed OK last night when we visited, but it looks like the doctors want to keep him over the weekend to run more tests

I hope you all have a great weekend, whatever you're up to ::yes::

Mandy, how is Paul's dad doing? :guilty:

I hope he is much improved today.

We don't have any special plans for the weekend other than my mom invited us over for dinner on one of the nights, which ever one we choose.

It's been very windy and quite often chilly here the past week. I'm hoping for some nicer weather on the weekend:goodvibes

Have a great one everybody.

Hey Dancing Queens :dance3:

I hope you're all keeping well

What are your plans for the weekend ? Anything nice ?

We haven't got any plans. Paul's dad is still in hospital, though we're hoping he'll be out very soon as he's had lots of tests done, and we're just waiting for the results. He was rather grumpy the other night, so I think he's on the mend :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Other than visiting my FIL, I am hoping to head to a shopping centre for a mooch around the shops. That's about it, nothing exciting going on here

Robin - what are your birthday plans for next week ? Are you going to be doing anything fun ?

Have a great weekend girls, whatever you're up to :)
