7th January 2007, Dancing Queens Thread CONTINUED

That is your caravan Mandy? It is so cute :goodvibes I love it.

I really enjoyed the pictures.

Is that a boyfriend in that picture:3dglasses He's a cutie for sure.

I'm doing good thanks for asking.

Tomorrow I have an appointment at the cancer clinic to see if any further treatments will be necessary. After that I go back to see the surgeon in mid August for a check up.

My mom is doing quite well too. She still has her drainage tubes and all her staples but she goes to see the surgeon on Friday and hopefully the drainage tubes will be removed.

Mandy, I have made a start on your trip report and am enjoying it so far:love:

Today I booked all of my children (2 kids and 2 significant others) on to our Disney Cruise :dance3: I'm really hoping that everything goes well for all of us and no one needs to cancel. It has been a dream of mine lately to have all of the family together on a cruise again.

Yes that's our caravan Robin. We've had it for years, but we haven't used it for the last 3 or 4 summers as the girls had lost interest in it, and we spent more time in WDW

When Paul & I decided to head to WDW by ourselves, it was Kerry who actually mentioned taking the caravan away this summer. We were gobsmacked (lol), as she was alway so vocal about going away in it. So as we felt so guilty about going away without them, we booked two weeks for them in the New Forest for Kerry and her friend Bex, and for Becky and her boyfriend Luis. Bless him, he is a sweetie, and they are so loved up :rotfl2: they've been going out for a nearly a year now

:wizard: Fingers crossed for tomorrow that you don't need any more treatment Robin. How are you feeling ? Do you feel a lot better ? I hope so

I hope you're mum is feeling much better soon too

How exciting that you're all planning on taking a cruise. Which one have you booked ? Tell me everything :)

I like your little caravan Mandy. It looks like a baby next to ours:goodvibes

I went to the cancer clinic today for my appointment.

It went really well.

The doctor said that with my type of cancer (size of the tumor and the rate that the cells are multiplying), I have an excellent chance of it never returning again.

I need no further treatment, just follow up CT scans every 4 to 6 months for the next 5 years to keep track of things.

I'm to go for a CT scan at some point in October and then return to the cancer clinic to see the doctor again.

All very good news for me.

My mom is coming along. She goes back to see the doctor on Friday and we will know more then.

Now, for the exciting stuff.............. the cruise :yay:

We are booked on the December 11th 7 night Western Caribbean cruise. I'm really looking forward to that. It should be nice with all the Christmas decorations.

:yay: Hey Dancing Queens, it's nearly the weekend !! :yay:

Robin ~ I'm so pleased about your news, I hope you're feeling better everyday. :wizard: Good luck to your mum too for today, I hope she gets some good news too

Well tonight Paul & I are heading back down to the New Forest and to spend the night in our tent before we have to clear everything away and bring the caravan home

The kids have had a great time, and I'm so pleased that after all this time, our caravan has finally been used

Have a great weekend girls, whatever you're up to :)

How did your tent night go Mandy? Get everything back home safely again.

My mom got all her staples removed on Friday. There was no cancer in any of the lymph nodes they removed. We don't know yet whether there will be further treatment, we need to go to the cancer clinic to find that out. But we are hopeful.

Hey Robin

:yay: That's great news about your mum, I hope she's feeling better and back to normal soon

Yes we got the caravan back home over the weekend. We had a lovely evening with the kids on Friday night, then put everything away early on Saturday morning. I think everyone has enjoyed the last few weeks ::yes::

We didnt do much really..I had the day off so we went to a movie(the latest twilight movie).. It was not the movie I would have picked to go to, but it was the only one showing that looked interesting at all.... It was not bad, but not great..
Then we went and picked up some dinner fixings to take home and have a nice, meal on our deck. even had candles:goodvibes
I had lobster, and mike had a Delmonico cut of steak, with rice, corn on the cob, and asparagus. along with a couple nice glasses of wine...
and very enjoyable anniversary!::yes::

Well Im off to work now:car:

Day 15 - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2514477

Just a quick note to say 'hi', as I'm off to London with Paul later on. He's got a meeting down there, so I'll have a wander around the shops while he's at his meeting, and hopefully we'll go somewhere nice for dinner

Have a good day guys :)

Thanks for the link Mandy and thanks so much for writing the trip report.

I always enjoy your reports and the lovely photos that you include with them.

I hope you are having fun in London.

 Thanks Robin, I really enjoy typing it up as it's like reliving it all again

So girls, what are you up to this weekend ? Anything nice ?

Paul & I went out for a meal in Coventry last night with some friends. We had a lovely time, and a very nice Asian meal too ::yes::

Today we're just recovering :rotfl2:

Becky started her first job today. She's working at Asda (which is like WalMart, and is owned by them too). She's going to be working in the Pharmacy, and she's doing an induction weekend today and tomorrow, then she'll be working Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and all day Saturday. So it's quite weird here knowing that Kerry and Becky are both at work now :thumbsup2

We haven't got any other plans for the weekend, so we'll probably just watch the Formula 1 tomorrow and have a bbq

Have a lovely weekend girls :)

Happy Weekend, although it's not so happy here :headache:

It rained really hard yesterday and I had water in the basement.

I'm trying to get the carpet dried out now.

But the good news is that Alex and Steph are in town for the weekend.

They are going to a wedding for their friends today.

The really good thing is that we get to discuss Alex and Steph's Disney wedding plans and our upcoming Disney Cruise:woohoo:

Did I tell you that they are getting married at the Disney Wedding Pavilion on May 29, 2011? The reception is going to be at the Grand Floridian :dance3:

Something exciting to look forward to.:goodvibes

Oh wow Robin ! How exciting, what a fantastic place to get married. I can't wait to hear about their plans

You must be so excited Robin ::yes::

I hope everything dries up soon :thumbsup2

It is very exciting to know that there is a Disney wedding in our future:goodvibes

What a wild and crazy summer we have been having.

First my surgery, then my mother's.

My dad was in the Emergency Room one night for 6 hours, shortly after my surgery.

Now Rick's mom is in the hospital. She had a funny turn on Saturday. She was very confused and her lip was hugely swollen and she couldn't walk:confused3

Her electrolites are all off and we think that she might have somehow gotten hold of his dad's medication instead of hers?

Who in the heck allows a man with Alzheimers to hand them medications every morning:confused: I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't be trusting him with that job.

Hopefully she is home again tomorrow and things can settle down a bit again.

My mom had a bone scan today and is scheduled for a liver scan in a couple of weeks, just to be sure the cancer has not spread to those spots.

We found out today that she has an appointment with the cancer clinic on Thursday. So I guess we will find out soon if there will be more treatment in her future.

Went with my mom to the cancer clinic today.

It turned out really well actually.

No chemo, no radiation but drug therapy for 5 years.

One pill a day for 5 years and her chances of recurrence within 10 years drops from 20% to 10%.

She is willing to take that pill and hope for the best.

 Yay ! It's nearly the weekend

What have you got planned ? anything nice ? We haven't got anything planned for this weekend at the moment. No doubt Paul & I will pop to the wine bar for a couple of glasses and a chat tonight, but other than that, I think we'll have a quiet one

Robin ~ that's great news about your mum, I'm so pleased that you're both doing well. How's Rick's mum ? I hope she's ok

Have a lovely weekend girls :)

Rick's mom is doing quite a lot better. I talked to her on the phone last night and she sounded pretty good.

Yes, we are thrilled for my mom:goodvibes

We both got very lucky.

We are supposed to be going out for a long weekend with the trailer and airplane but I'm not sure how that is going to actual come together. Will have to wait and see what Rick says. He has some stuff that he wants to get done with work. I will await further instructions.

Sounds like you have a lovely weekend planned Mandy. Enjoy yourselves.
