We ate at the Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney. We've eaten there once before too. The food was okay. I'm not a big fan of the bread they make their sandwiches out of though.
We also ate at the Crystal Palace, Pooh and Friends, Dinner Buffet. The food was really good at this buffet. Lots of different things, more exotic types of things. I can't say I was much impressed with the character wandering around. They pretty much ignored us, I guess because we were two adults with no children. Eeyore did stop and shake my hand though.
The last place we ate at was Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge. We had the Canyon Skillet, which is an all you can eat skillet with various types of meats, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, baked beans and corn bread. The food was very good too.
All of these places we just walked up to the door and asked if we could come in. No problems getting a table at all. The longest wait was maybe 15 minutes.
For myself, I don't see the appeal of the Disney Restaurants. The food was good but I don't think any of the places that we have eaten at have that WOW factor that a lot of other people find. I enjoyed eating at the Disney places but I certainly can't ever see me obsessing over getting advanced seating like a lot of DISers seem to. Everyone is different I guess, that's why there are so many choices available.
