Sounds great! Is it cheaper to do it on our own? I read somewhere, can't remember about someone having trouble getting back to ship with the taxi? Doesn't make sense... maybe it happens!

Straw-market... never again! And this time I think I'll wear a braided wig! Got the same thing "pretty lady"!

We had a really great experience in January with taking the taxi over on our own. We had never done it before and thought, what the heck let's try it.

A young man approached us in the customs building as we were walking through and asked us if we needed a taxi to somewhere? Kind of a little creepy but we said yes and he sent us out to his van.

He came right out and drove us over to Atlantis with not a bit of a problem, very pleasant nice young man. He gave us his card and said when we wanted to go back to the ship, give the card to the taxi stand guys and they would call him for us if we wanted and he'd be right there to get us.

So we got them to call him and he was there to get us, no lies, he was there in less than 3 minutes. :smooth:

Worked out great, he took just the four of us and no waiting for his van to fill up at all, as I've heard sometimes happens. Price was $4 per person, I gave him $20 for the 4 of us.

We didn't actually go into the aquariums this time, we only looked at what we could see in the lobby and from outside on "top" of the aquariums looking in.

We once took the Disney excursion and they took us over there on the water taxi. The water taxi is a fair hike from Atlantis which is okay if you are physically fit enough to do the walk. You also have to walk back to the dock to get the taxi back to the ship. They crammed soooo many people onto that boat going back that I was really concerned about the safety of it. I don't know if they still use the water taxi system with the Disney excursion or not.

As for the straw market........ nope.......... just not for me either. :sad2:

Sometimes the tag fairies will pick up on the silliest things :teeth:

I think it sounds great...

I'll have to pass along to DH; I'm sure we'll head over, he wanted to see Atlantis last time we went!

:rotfl2:

no, he's cleaning the glass walls, holding himself in place with a small suction cup

:rotfl:

Okay... that sounds better! :thumbsup2

If any of you guys are down my way or close, let me know! I can't wait another 9 mos to meet everyone!

I know it sounds sappy, but all you guys sound great!

Okay will do that.

You just never know where I'm going to turn up sometimes. :smooth:

Well, it's noon now.

I guess I should go and find something "productive" to do with my time.

Maybe I'll go see if we have any mail :rotfl2:

Sounds like my kinda day! :lmao:

Have fun with your "productive" time! :goodvibes

I'm leaving for the day shortly! Take care! :grouphug:

Hey sunny, I see you have been hanging out over on another cruise discussion board ;)

I read over there some when I'm going on a cruiseline other than Disney. I recently registered over there and have posted a few times.

I'm registered over there as MrsK.

I'm in disguise :smooth: :p

I've been registered over there for a couple of years now. I used it to do a lot of lurking until more recently. It's amazing how much info is out there about every ship and everyone's got an opinion. It helped alot when we got ready for our first cruise.
I'll have to keep my eye out for you over there. I only get there once in awhile, now that we're under 300 days, I've got some serious planning to do! :lmao:

  Woohoo !!, it's less than 300 days to go

I'm mega-excited tonight, hubby bought me a present today, and here it is ...

I was busy at the computer tonight when I could hear The Mickey Mouse March playing, I got up to have a look where it was coming from, and I found this phone. It is sooooo cool. I haven't got a clue how to use it, the girls have been showing what to do.

I feel like a big kid with a new toy.

Mandy :)

This is too cute....and it plays the mickey mouse march.....LOVE IT!!

I'm hoping Kay can figure out how to hook our scanner up to my laptop because we have some great pictures of Atlantis too. Those rays are HUGE in person and I think there are sharks in nearly every picture we took of the fish. :rotfl2: Got some great shots of the dragon statues in the casino and that spikey crystal sculpture thing. We walked from where the ship(RCCL) was docked over to Atlantis. It was quite a jaunt but it was our last stop of a total of 6 and we were trying to conserve cash for our tips. At the time we didn't know how cheap it would be. Anyway, I wouldn't really recommend it unless you are in pretty good shape, that bridge is something with the incline, besides that, a small sections we walked through we got a few interesting looks. Once over to Paradise island, I was glad we walked, it's beautiful over there and very clean. :woohoo: We did a quick straw market walk through, I wasn't impressed, I expected more. But I had just been to St Thomas and St Maarten plus a few other places so I might have been shopped out....if that's possible. :lmao: My hair was braided on St Maarten I think, but they still wanted to do it over. :furious: See, if I could hook up that scanner I could post our(me & DH) formal night picture. My hair is braided in it. Gotta get that thing working! :badpc:

Robin, I love your aquarium piccies at Atlantis, I'm not sure what we'll be doing on Nassau day, I'm hoping that it will be in the high 80's so I can catch up on a tan, I've got my fingers & toes crossed

Wendy I hope you will be able to post your photos with your hair braided, I'd love to see them :)

I'm hoping for nice weather too because we probably won't spend all that much time at Atlantis. Probably get off the ship after breakfast and be back before lunch. Then I can hang out on deck and hopefuly enjoy the warmth and sunshine :sunny:

Yes, Wendy, I'd love to see your pictures too. ::yes::

My daughter had her braided at Nassau once. She had to sit still for a very long time, she had long hair and had her whole head done. I think my mother-in-law had a fit at the price we paid to have it done but I had promised Liz before we left that she could get it done, so it was really part of her vacation "package" so to speak.

I have some cool pictures of the sculptures too in the casino at Atlantis.

Wendy........ I don't hang out over at that other board very often either. I usually check in every few days or so OR when I'm looking for something specific. Their Disney board doesn't even move  sits in the same spot for days. :sad2:

Haha.. I tried.. I really wanna get it hooked up too! I will try again VERY soon. I promise.

:cool1: Hey girls! Just bumping us up in case we have anyone looking for our cruise! :Pinkbounc

Wendy... can't wait to see those pics!

Can anyone copy and paste in replies? Just curious!

Wow. Haven't visited for a while and there are pages and pages of posts.
My DH wants to see Atlantis this time. (Okay, he wants to gamble at Atlantis) We may try to head over or maybe just him. All will depend on what the kids want to do. I don't have any preference. I'm just as happy watching them swim or seeing a movie. We'll skip Nassau central, other than one of us going out to pick up a bottle or two of the flavored rums. That makes a nice gift and, if I remember correctly you could bring in more alcohol duty free if some was "local?"

For those that have cruised before, have you ever purchased any of the jewelry specials from the on board shops during the trip? We meant to get down to the shop when watches were on special, but didn't make it. I am wondering about the quality/brands and also about the jewelry.
