$79.99 Tickets Are Back

I don't understand why some are seeing the cheaper price and some aren't. But of course, I'm not real computer saavy! Maybe if I call them and tell them the discrepancy, they'll give me the lower price. It makes a difference when you have a large family!

Certain demogrphics are targeted for certain deals. When you log on, it reads your IP address (your interent computer address not your actual home address.) Certain IPs had a different price. I see the $79 price both on my regular internet provider and browser and also on the anonymous browser link. Depending on your location, you might not be the demographics they are targetting with the $79 deal.

funny when I got home I was able to see the $79 price and get the tickets and I live in the same town where I work, crazy! And I had already tried deleting cookies, files, history, etc. Oh, well I saved some money anyway!

Certain IP providers give different towns for an address. For awhile my IP address always said I was in Tampa not Orlando. Or maybe your work IP shows as a business and the demographics might not include businesses.

I don't know anything about marketing or who their target audience is.

Funny, my husband and I were sitting on the same couch, each of us on different laptops. He was able to get the $79.99 price, while mine was $85.99. He read off hte http: address to me and it was different, but when I typed it in to my address bar, it said that the site was not unavailable!!!

Strange stuff, but we got em for $79.99

This is awesome......thanks to the board. I never would have known of the 80 buck deal for both parks. thanks to everyone

I'm pretty sure they won't refund the difference. They come out to $86.25 after tax. I bought two at the $86.99 + tax and one at the $79.99 +tax (long story)...

Same for me - I also live in the UK. This is a pretty big price difference I think, I don't think that Universal are being fair here - after all a lot of their business comes from across the pond - do they think that we don't speak to our American cousins on these boards?? Come on Universal, you know you can do better than that.

I tried the link provided by Phantom in a previous post, which allows me to view the offer of $79.99 but when I add to my cart, it logs me out each time. I have e-mailed Universal to ask about this, will let you know what they say.

Send them a message on the "contact us" link on their website or give Guest Services a call. It couldn't hurt!

UK guests also get many discounts on the UK site of Universal Orlando that other countries including the US don't get. There are often specials offered to certain groups that other groups don't get. Remember the Fun in the Sun passes for Disney that only UK residents could get? I know many times there are specials for just UK visitors from Universal. The Flextickets that many people get who are outside of the US are a wonderful deal if you are visiting the other parks.

That is the best option. I would let them know of your dissatisfaction.

With the currency exchange rate, $117 is still a cheaper price for UK residents than the $79 Americans pay. Wonder why it is only UK residents who get special targeted discounts? I'd like to take advantage of a special rate.

Phantom

Agree that the flexticket is a great deal - used it last time as we also got to visit Busch, Wet n Wild and Seaworld. This year only doing Universal parks for the 3 days.

Sleepy

$79 is still almost $40 cheaper than the $117 - the exchange rate is irrelevant.

JUST GOT AN EMAIL SAYING:mad:
Hello,

Thank you for contacting the Universal Online Ticket Store. All online prices are subject to change at anytime. We cannot change the price on your tickets that were purchased last December.
SO I GUESS I BOUGHT MY TICKETS TOO EARYL WHO KNEW:confused3 . I PAID 92.17 INCLUDING TAX IN DEC 2007 FOR MY UP COMING TRIP IN APR. I THINK I GOT A GOOD DEAL.

Pigby, you should be able to get the 7 day tickets for the $85 price even though you are in the UK. I think that is a better deal than the 2 day-3rd day free offer on the UK site. If you can't get them on the universalorlando.com site you can get them here on the Disboards from dreamsunlimited: http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/universal/

Fant98, you still got an awesome deal. Last year and for the last few years, we were all excited about the $99 5 day tickets. I paid $89 six years ago for 5 day tickets and was thrilled with the bargain.

I agree completely! The $85.99 deal was amazing when it came out and the $79.99 was almost unbelievable! I had gotten the 5 day tickets before for $99 and thought that was an awesome deal! I sure hope that when Harry Potter is complete, Universal will continue to be the great value (or close to it anyway) that it is today!

I kid you not, guys..

I have Firefox and Internet Explorer both open to the Universal Orlando tickets page.

FireFox gives me the $85.99 price and Internet Explorer shows me $79.99. :confused3

So try different browsers too?
