7 month window

If you have a reservation at your home resort 11 months out how do you switch at 7 months if your points are invested already? Can you call day by day and swap or must you call at the date of checkout (7 montths prior)

There are several ways to do it. The one I like best is to book at 11 months out then when the 7 month window opens up, book the desired option day by day then when you are successful on the last day, cancel the 11 month reservation. This approach assumes you have enough points to do both minus the last day. If not, my preferred approach is to book at 11 months out then call day 1 7 months out and see how things are looking. If it looks good, I'll book day by day canceling the corresponding day on the 11 month reservation until I get it completed. If it doesn't look good, I make a decision. Keep what I have and hope it's all there when I can book the 7 month all at one time and wait list if not OR take my chances and book day by day for the 7 month reservation as I described above.

I've done that with OKW at the 7 month mark for May. I asked what it looks like for 1 bedrooms. They've always told me they have plenty available. So I wait until the 7 month mark for the final checkout day and make the reservation all at once.
