7 flights, 6 hotels, 1 cruise ship and a major stuff up...brace yourself UPDATE!

Becpee - you absolutely have to take your DH to the baseball in NYC. It is an awesome experience. You will need to buy those tickets online with www.stubhub.com and you will need to buy them well before you go on your trip. Those suckers sell out quick. You won't regret it, it will be one of the highlights of your trip.

We're really looking forward to it, DH keeps saying "think of the merchandise we can buy" LOL
There is 3 games on while we're in NYC which is a good thing, I'll get online when I get home from work and have a squiz.

Another thing I really want to see is the 9/11 Memorial, I remember where I was when l found out what happened and it changed the world and also my perspective.

I just looked at my ticker...

3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days!

Sounds so much better than 16 weeks and 3 days :thumbsup2

Still waiting for my webjet refund, waiting to book NYC accom, pretty sure i'll be Hotwire-ing it, DH will not slum it, so i'm just going to hit up a mystery booking, checking the rates daily, they'll drop at some stage.

One night at LAX to book also :thumbsup2

DL tickets to buy, I might get them at the gate, i'm not sure yet.

It really is getting closer,

I can't wait to see the Statue of Liberty for real :thumbsup2

You need to go post in Andona's thread apparently Webjet react really quickly to that:rotfl2:

I was just saying to a friend last night that driving in to NY and seeing the Statue of Liberty on one side and the city in front of us with all my kids screaming look mum look were here was a moment i will never forget its engraved into my heart:love:

Make sure you read up on the mystery hotels in NY i cant remember what thread i read but there were a lot of unhappy people with what they got.

Another 9 days to wait for my refund, as long as I get t within the time frame I'm ok, I basically agreed to the wait by getting a refund.

I have 4 days off now!

what are you going to do with 4 whole days off...too soon to online shop..how about you pop over to my place and do my ironing:stir:

or train my minnie to not eat toilet paper:confused3

Ironing, as long as I have tv to watch while i'm doing it, i'm ok, when it's done I feel like i've accomplished something :thumbsup2

I used to use ironing as a tradeoff with my mum :upsidedow

I can't wait to online shop!!

how did you score 4 days off in a row? awesomeness :)

I normally have 3, but they're saving wages LOL so they were offering annual leave, which I turned down, but I did offer to chuck a sicky :thumbsup2 which they approved :goodvibes

an official Mental heath day...only in australia:rotfl:

I love this country pixiedust:

I know :goodvibes

My boss told me earlier in the year that she chucks sickies if she can't face it, she spends the day on the couch watching chick flicks then returns to work the next day feeling better :thumbsup2

She told me she's "managing her mental health".

wow. i don't do this anymore, but for the first few years after my grandfather passed, i would take a mental health day on his birthday, and stay at home watching chick flicks and eating icecream and just wallowing and remembering my grandpa. there were usually tears involved. then i would go back to work and feel like i could cope with the world again...

similar mindset to your boss, i guess :)

So with the ticket increases I just bought our DL tickets, it's quite a significant increase, isn't it?

So thats another thing done!

One night LAX accom left to book and NYC, and baseball tickets :thumbsup2

And any other NYC activities, although I think we'll be walking a bit also (will be great for the extra food i'm sure we'll be eating :upsidedow)

congrats on the DL tickets -- are you going to use one of the hop on/hop off tours to get around town and see the sights? i know they're ridiculously touristy, but we quite enjoyed meeting other people on vacation and getting to know some of the hokey, 'insider info' that the tour guides shared with us...

Did you end up getting baseball tickets? Or are they in the "too hard basket" for the moment.

With the 911 memorial you have to book your time slot in advance I believe. I would imagine since you are going at a popular time that you should perhaps do so soon.

I was thinking one of those hop on/hop off would be a great idea, great to have somebody point out things to us th we may otherwise miss :thumbsup2

I did have a look t the baseball tickets then got sidetracked with the DL tickets, which have now turned into a it of a drama

Will get onto the 9/11 memorial booking too, thanks for the headsup :thumbsup2

The Disneyland tickets all panned out, the extra 3 transactions dropped off my card overnight, and buying them through ARES I saved a little extra as well.

3 months, 3 weeks to go :thumbsup2

I'm trying to come up with cheap easy healthy meals for the next few months, wanna boost the spendings just in case :thumbsup2

Even if we have a crappy exchange I know most things are a bargain, and i'm pretty sure it'll be a while before we go back :(

This time in 16 weeks we'll be on the plane :woohoo:

yay so glad for you that the tickets panned out :)

and omg, can't believe you'll be going in just on 16 weeks, that's awesome.

our trip is in 27 more pays, or just over 6 months, which will fly by, which has me really stressing...

seems like you are totally organised, so i hope it's a beautiful trip... can't wait to hear all about it :)

I can give you cheap, cook once, eat over 2 nights recipes but they usually have rice or pasta and sometimes bacon and/or cheese so I don't think they are what you are looking for :rotfl::rotfl:
