7 day Western - May 7, 2005???

We're doing the 2 1/2 hour one with Captain Marvins. I believe the one we're going on leaves at 11:15. Gives us enough time so we're not rushing around like crazy in the morning and gets us back early enough so we can take our time getting back to the ship before dinner.

Which seating did you take? Because of my little guy, we went with the early seating. It worked out for us the first time, so that's what I opted for this time.

When I took DS8 out last year - his teacher couldn't have been better about it. It was first grade so it wasn't like it was the end of the world. He did his homework on the plane and his only other assignment was to keep a journal of what he did. Really not so bad at all. We get out here in June, but by May, everyone is winding down.

I was blown away by the upgrade last year. I was checking my reservation for something and noticed my room had changed. LOL - I was actually aggrevated by it. When I posted to the board to ask why they would change a cabin assignment, I found out it was an upgrade....I got over the change in cabin pretty fast. lol.....nice surprise!

Do you have the website address to Capt. Marvin's? I want to make sure we're checking into the right one. We were thinking of doing the late excursion too so we wouldn't have to rush in the morning, but want to make sure we got back in plenty of time for dinner.

We're schedule for the early dinner. I hope we get seated with a family. It would be nice to meet other people and the kids have someone else to bug :teeth:

I check my reservation once in awhile, thinking, just maybe....... but I know it's still early:teeth:

Here's the link to Captain Marvins:

Captain Marvin's.

I found the site a little confusing and was paranoid about doing it wrong ... I eventually just called.

We'll see you at the early seating ! If I remember correctly, there are some bigger tables so I guess then do combine families ... It is nice to have people to talk to especially when the kids aren't in a talking mood.

Thanks for the information. Maybe we can get together with SPM. Her DS's are about the same age as my DD's. I think we'll be looking at that 11:15 departure for Capt Marvins too and should get us back in plenty of time to get a nap in before dinner;)

That would be fun to sit with another family or two :) There's only so much that you can talk with your kids about, especially if they are younger.

What time do you plan on getting to the port? I think between 10:30 and 11:00 sounds the best. I don't mind standing in line once we get there, I just don't want to be sitting in a cab/shuttle, waiting to get dropped off. I'll be bouncing in my seat :bounce: along with my girls :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

The 11:15 does work out great, doesn't it?

Getting to port....believe it or not, even being the total CP (complusive planner) I'm not 100% sure yet when we're going down. It's too early to book flights so I'm not sure if we'll go down Friday night or take the first flight out Saturday morning.

We're adding a day or two on to the back of the trip for sure....killing me that it's too early to book a hotel for that LOL.

Last year I think we got there in and around 12:00....I remember literally walking right on - no lines. Dropped everything off in our cabin (it was ready) and went to lunch - again no lines. No lines at Flounders...no lines checking in at the lab. Hoping this one goes as smooth!

We didn't do Palo so not sure if our streak would have been over then!

This ship is no doubt going to be a very full one, so don't know if we'll be so lucky this time if we get down later. But if we leave here even on the 7:00 am flight, we won't be boarding much before 1:00.....better late than never though!

Since we're coming from out west, we pretty much HAVE to fly out the day before, plus I've read about too many people that have had their flights delayed and missed the boat. Too much planning will go into this trip for us to miss it.

I think we might fly out early on Friday (of course we lose like 2 hours on top of the 3 hour flight), but I've been reading great things about Ron Jon's and might be worth checking out. I think we're also renting a car since my DH wants to check out the NASA stuff and we can do our liquor run before the cruise.

Hey Holly! Welcome to the May 2005 Club!!! :D

I can't believe it's under 300 days now (considering I started the countdown in the 400's)

I can't wait!!!!!!!

Hi,
I am in the process of booking this cruise. It will be me and dd7. Looking forward to it!:D

Hi Leggs22!

Have you done the cruise before? This will be our first time, me, DH and two DD's 12 & 10. My DH says I'm obsessed, but I'm just trying to find out as much before we get there so I know where everything is.

Duh... saw that you had been on the Magic in 2001:earseek:

I was the exact same way before my 1st cruise in 2001. These boards helped a lot! I started out on the cruise board and now hang on the Community Board. But now I'm back to the Cruise Board! I booked in Aug 2001 and sailed in Oct 2001. Only had to wait 2 months and had a lot to learn. This time I feel more relaxed about it.

I'm getting to the point were I'm starting to feel more comfortable with things, but I know as soon as it gets closer, I'll be freaking out a bit :p

The way the year has been going so far, I know the trip will be here before I know it.

I am really glad I chose to cruise out of hurricane season this time!!!

I'm really looking forward to the cruise in May:D with not a hurricane in sight. How was the damage in Grand Cayman? Isn't that one of our stops?

I'm with you on that! After hearing about all problems people were having, I'm glad we're not anywhere close to hurricane season.

I know the Cayman Island got hit, but haven't heard how bad. From the news it looks like a lot of downed trees and some roofs blown off. Hope it's not too bad

Hi Tera nd ll:bounce:
Thanks for posting on my thred s to this site. I will be sure to check back on a routine basis. We (my DW nd myself) will in 5132 this time around. I am going to book a room for friday this week coming up.. This is our 25th wedding aniversery and we are leaving the kids at home:confused: We will have 2nd seating and we are going to do the REAS instead of the scrmble.. Happy to see the in info on the captia s site.. Did you pay all upfont?
Talk later
James:firefight

Hi James...

We're booked in cabin 2108, but hoping to upgrade to a veradah (not holding my breath though). Since we have kids, we went with the 1st seating. I hope we sit with another family with kids :)

That should be great fun for you and your DW to celebrate without kids. I look forward to doing that in the future.

We haven't made any reservations yet since we're still over 6 months out, but will be doing that soon. Still haven't decided where we're going to stay the night before (I have an email into Ron Jon's)

What captia site are you talking about? We haven't finished paying for the cruise if that's what your asking about.
