Andrew - have you done the Magic Behind the Steam Trains tour at the Magic Kingdom?!? I'm sure this is something you and your son would really enjoy. I've done it twice and enjoyed it both times.

The Magic Behind Our Steam Trains, a Magic Kingdom park tour, explores Walt Disney's passion for steam trains, while giving Guests the opportunity to join the opening crew as they prepare for the daily railroad operation at the MAGIC KINGDOM. This tour also offers the rare opportunity to visit our backstage "roundhouse".

The tour highlight is the train trip back to the roundhouse with an up-close and personal look at one or more of our locomotives, but the experience is also rich in history about Walt Disney's lifelong fascination with steam trains, how we acquired our four old locomotives, and the operating procedures we follow to serve our annual ridership of over 3 million. You will received an exclusive pin, designed by one of the engineers, at the end of the tour.

Offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the MK turnstiles at 7:30 am and ends approximately 10:30 am.

The cost is $40 plus tax and theme park admission is required. Guests must be at least 10 years old to participate. DVC members can receive a 15% discount.

I know I will be buying a ton of milk chocolate McVittie's in London before I do this cruise!!!!! YUM . . .

It's funny that we are already thinking about FE gifts for a cruise almost 2 years away :cool1:

I loved the FE gifts so much!!! IM in!!!!!!!!!!

Actually this cruise is 3rd on my list of things to organize now:-

Venice May 2009, I got flights for free, (BA Miles) have hotel booked

Florida August 2009, DCL cruise paid up, Flights organized, Villa organized and Contemporary booked, but have to pay Virgin holidays off.
Also booked Discovery cove for Sunday post cruise. Nead to decided on disney tickets.

Then this cruise comes in third place to organize.

Andrew Discovery Cove -probably my favorite place after Disney world!!!I will try to post some pics from our trips there . Try to the Trainer For a Day pkg.- expensive, but worth every penny!!!!

Julie- I went with Jo- so happy!!! I only wish she handles air fare- hopefully everyone here will know when to book the air and what airline to use!!:confused3 :confused3

Truly, you won't regret it -- I went with another agency on my first cruise and didn't see the point of a TA -- then I found Jo before the Med and now I can't imagine the hassle without her doing everything!

Don't worry, Sallie -- we will help you with figuring out the airfare!!!!

Hey snap I've also got 3 things to organise

1. Ireland and The Peak District August 2009

2. Joshua's Barmitzvah

3. This cruise

That doesn't mean I will be slacking on my planning for this cruise though :surfweb: :surfweb: :surfweb:
We also have 3 trips planned...so far....
Phoenix and Tucson leaving Christmas night this year and returning 1/9/09.

WDW Easter week

4 night DCL cruise and 3 nights at WDW 6/21/09

I'm sure I'll come up with at least 2 more trips before this cruise. :thumbsup2

Forgot to add that DD may be going to St. Petersburg, Tallinn, Berlin and 3 or 4 other cities next summer for 3 weeks. :scared:

I am staying at this one in a family suite looks quite central to everything, never been there before, I have seen it form above some of my flights from Greece have flown over it on clear days. From my BA flights this summer I had miles spare so thought where do I go?

I have stayed there in 2001 and 2003 so not since it has been renovated, in 2002 and 2006 I stayed at the Polynesian, but I wanted to see all the changes, we are only staying there three days pre cruise plan is to walk in to MK, to make the most of the time and maybe do the other parks post cruise from the Villa.
I would like to see the new bay lake tower and the enhanced Chef Mickeys.

Have a MK view so will run back to watch the fireworks from the room.

Stephen will stay up all night until the trains stop just watching them come in and out of the contemporary and all around the loop. He even got up in the middle of one night to see a few trains parked inside the Contemporary during bad weather.

Never done it, firstly Stephen was too young, then we did three dolphin interactions with DCL instead (Cozumel,Acapulco,Costa Maya) and was too busy as WDW, but its booked for 2009. Photos sounds nice.

Andrew, the location of the hotel in Venice is very good. One tip is that St Marks Square is a very busy area during the day. It is wonderful at night when all the day trippers have gone. We usually prefer to stay in the Dorsoduro area it is about a 5-10 minute walk from St Marks Square. It is less touristy but with still a lot of restaurants, wine bars and more

Venice is one of my favorite places in the world

Hi Julie and Sallie :)

We'll each need one to power us across the sea!!!!!!

On the main Cruise board, there is a thread:

Tom's Custom Name Tag Graphics Thread (not sure how to do a link to it)

Anyway, do you think we could make up name tags for all of us Diser's on our cruise. Or maybe ask Tom on his thread for help.

What do you all think??

We're also planning quite a few things before this.

Disneyland May/June 2009

WDW for my Bestfriend's Wedding Sept 2009, of course, being the matron of honor, I have a lot of other things to plan for this (bachelorette party, bridal shower, etc.)

This cruise July 2010

I'm going to need to concentrate on the other trips before I get too obsessed and involved in this one.
