You could go in 1 month early and have plenty to see and do. Going in 3 days early is a big tease, but it's a start....
Oh yeah....we'll have to pop into a pub or 2 to sample the libations

My two cents: I LOVE the it's a small world poster theme idea. It would make really nice looking magnets and t-shirts. Maybe a simple name with that logo.

another near DC person!

Some of the coolest people I met are from there.
Since I've been speaking of popping into pubs and

what is the legal drinking age in the UK?
18. Far less than USA, but kids can go in with meals
NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE MENTION THAT TO MY YOUNGEST!
I'm assuming that you know what a FE is. So the way we did it on the Med cruise was that 1 person collected the name of each family who wanted to join in and then allocated each one of those families a day that they would deliver their prezzies. As there were quite a lot us us playing there were more than 1 familiy a day making deliveries which was nice. The gifts had to be small so that they could go into the FE and should also be representative (ish) of where you live or the cruise.
It was that simple really BUT IT WAS SUCH FUN
Hey Izzie, we have seen it done another way. On the August Repo, we tried to assign days but may people preferred not to be go that route. We left it up to the individuals to decide. I agree that it sounds better in paper to assign days but many people complained that there were just too many people (there was over 140+ cabins) to deliver too in one night. Even I who likes to walk the decks at night found it hard to do it all in one night.
I believe by the time this cruise comes around, we will probably be up around those numbers too.
Plus, then you have some great individuals who might decide to give something to each individual so that makes it hard too. I suggest that we put it out there and then let everyone decide as we get closer. We will probably need someone to spearhead the list. Plus, one advantage to not having an assigned day is that no one needs to assign the days. They just need to make sure we have all who will be participating on a general list to pass out.
I would suggest that we could just put something in every FE we see but the problem that I encountered on the last Aug Cruise was that we had another group and some other individuals who "knew" about the FE tradition but weren't necessarily signed up for. So if you do put one in every FE you see, you might end up being short for those "on the list."
PS - I also am curious as to whether there is any interest in a Secret Mickey (sort of like a Secret Santa) gift exchange? I know that a lot of us would be worried about weight restrictions but there are ways to get around this too. I suggested on a past cruise that you can always pick up small token gifts in ports to avoid the weight problem.
This can be geared to kids, family and couples. As time goes along - I will bring this up too. This is a fantastic way for people to get to know others that they normally wouldn't do.
Thank you both, I knew it was lower than the US and on
DCL.
I'm sure other may/may not appreciate knowing the lower drinking age.

most definitely.
I do know what the FE is, just didn't understand the process and how it's determined who passes out the gifts and when.
Oh my, I'm having visions of hauling a suitcase with FE gifts only.
BTW, just to clear things up - FE gifts are usually voluntary and NOT required to participate in. However, it is customary if you sign up you should give. Nothing of major expense - many get creative and give a customized candy bar wrapped with our logo or maybe small bags of chocolate kisses or stuff like that. As time goes on, you will be amazed at the ideas people come up with.
On the last cruise - we got an AWESOME POC stopwatch which floored EVERYONE - huh MIKE? BTW, THANK YOU!
On the May PC crossing, we all got a small pair of plastic binoculars to watch the locks with. It was printed with our cruise name, date and logo. I tell you, people get very ingenious and crafty. I got all kinds of things from a book, to one of those scarves that you dunk in water to soak it up and keep you cool to a mouse pad to maracas. I tell you - awesome. Great idea whomever brought it up.
