Sorry I haven't been around much but we're coming up to year end so things go into manic    mode for me from now till start of April.

Also I've been feeling a bit down as I'm sorry to say it's looking more and more likely that if the exchange rate remains at the current shocking level and the general ecomony doesn't pick up then we will have to cancel at booking confirmation time :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1 So I haven't really felt like joining in with all the chattylicious ballyhooing :sad2: :sad2:

Julie is right. Isn't booking confirmation time a month or two before the cruise? A lot can happen by then. Right now I'm sure with the Bar mitzvah coming up that is on your mind. Once you are through with that, maybe things will look brighter.

I agree with everyone else. Don't give up yet. God works in mysterious ways. And remember, this is Disney. So with a bit of Faith, trust and Pixie Dust:tinker: :tinker: :tinker: MAGIC can happen!:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Don't get too down -- that decision is a long way off and many things can happen:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I agree with everyone else. We all have over a year before we have to pay the balance. It's still fun to exchange pleasantries and find out what expressions mean in our countries and share wine varieties!;)

Its a long time, and I am in the same boat ( ship ), the exchange rate is rubbish, I paid off my 2009 cruise at $2 to the £, I expected the exchange rate to fall, and thats why it was paid off so early, but I didn't expect the fall to be so dramatic.

I expected and factored in an exchange rate of about $1.75 to the £, at $1.40 odd and paying in $ you cannot justify it, when other cruise lines are at least 50% of this, same cruise and pay in £.

But as Julie says its a long time our rate fell so quickly it can go back up, not to $2 thats not going to happen, but the USA has its issues as well and a high $ rate will not help there recovery, as it will hit USA Exports.

I think we might see it slowly to up maybe $1.50 or optimistic $1.60 per £ we shall see,

I have to pay up mine by January 2010, so I have until then to decide...

Oh I was going to post this........

Don't stress - we're really all in the same boat. That's one thing about this crazy financial situation - it's totally unpredictable. I have NO CLUE if I'll be able to afford this cruise (price being in dollars notwithstanding). We may not have the exchange rate issues, but we have some air-fares to cover, rates for which are also quite unpredictable.
So seriously, there are so many other things to stress about nowadays, that it makes sense just to assume everything will work out for the cruise and put it out of mind for at least another 9 or 10 months.

3/20? Isn't it due at the 90 day mark? Aren't we cruising sometime in July or something? I forget.....

Yea, isn't it 90 days when you're talking about booking excursions and Palo? I thought we had a few more days than that! :confused3

Nope, not 90 days for the European sailings. It's 120 days out for cat. 4-12 to be paid in full, and I believe cat. 1-3 needs to be paid at 150 days out. I checked my reservation confirmation to be sure.

Online bookings will still be at the 75, 90 and 105 day marks.

Sneaky of them - moving the payment date early....

It's a lot of money. We'll see how the next year looks....

Wow, I had no idea about the earlier due date payment. I'm pretty sure I have online booking b/c my deposit was the online price.
