Welcome, Ken! I almost feel like a lurker myself. I have been away for so long!

We went to South Carolina for Christmas to visit our dd. It was wonderful with record high temperatures for Christmas day. We enjoyed all the sunshine we could get.

We can appreciate anyone's flight delays over the holidays! We had our share on the way home:eek:

This past week we have had it all from rain, sleet, ice and now snow!:scared1: Now the kids have a 2 hour delay for tomorrow:)

I am having foot surgery the 19th so I am getting my Disney DVD's together to take to the bedroom. I have quite a few I haven't watched so I plan on keeping myself entertained if I have to be confined!:rolleyes1 . I will have to be sure the laptop is working! :surfweb: We have not used it for ages!

Izzi, thanks so much for taking care of the Christmas card exchange. It was so much fun!

Wishing everyone a great 2009.

Best wishes on your surgery and keep us posted!

I'm sure this is no surprise to anyone (he is from Norway!) but I spoke with Captain Tom on the NYE cruise and he is definitely doing all the Baltic cruises. As he exclaimed with more enthusiasm than I think I had ever witnessed from him, "We will see Nor-vay!"

At the Captain's reception a few trips ago, I could tell he REALLY wanted to go to the Baltic area.......I had a hunch we were going there after hearing him speak!

I will repost whenever you need your tarantula fix!;)

NO!!!!!

Caro and I will have to find AND post every pic of IASW that we can in retaliation. :lmao: :rotfl:  :rotfl2: :grouphug: Joann please feel free to join us in doing this. :rotfl:

I like Capt. Tom, we've had him a couple of times. He's definately a man of few words, but very nice.

I heard that one man on our cruise took over 2000 pics in StP alone. Now that's a lot of pics. :scared1:

I keep forgetting to ask DD how many pics she took, but then she took lots of pics of cars, ducks, birds and trees.

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Did I ever mention that I took over 1800 pictures at the Vatican, St. Peter's Basiclica and Sistene Chapel in one day? :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 That was before I had my image stabilized lenses. I can't begin to imagine what I'll do this time when I got the good lens and my new Canon 50D! :santa: was very nice to me! Now, as long as I don't have to shoot at night, I'll get some decent pictures (I am crossing my fingers here!)

BTW, in total, I ended up taking over 10,000+ pictures on our Med cruise. I'm hoping to at least get some decent ones on this one considering those were taken with conventional lenses. NOw if I could ever get my behind in gear and find a spot to place them. Steve chastised me for drowning my laptop in pictures and slowing it down. :guilty: He wasn't really nice about it either.

OK - here's a clue of what I was up too these last couple of days:

And here's my main reason for going:

IMG_6072.jpg

Darn bugger would not stay still long enough for me to take a clear picture of him. All these pictures were taken without flash. I was afraid to flash in their eyes. However, I did get some decent shots of some.

Here's a picture of him with Kym Johnson and another dancer:

They were doing a skit on flight attendants and pilots

Here's another skit being done by Marilyn Monroe AKA Marlee Matlin:

and here was the closest I got to Cheryl:

P.S. - I did flash her on this one. I couldn't help myself. Everyone else was doing it and I had waited the whole time so I finally took the plunge and flashed her. Bad Laura! ;) BTW, she is not FAT - she is a skinny healthy. THe others are just plain anorexic. :cool2:

Here's Maurice Greene:

Them's all for now folks got to get to bed. My furr kids are getting their shots tomorrow and I have to hunt down their shot records. I hope to be able to check back later after I drop my baby off at the car dealership. Seems my passenger ac/heater duct went out in Vegas and I must get it repaired. :wave2: till later folks.

OK - last one couldn't help myself: Here's one of the finale:

Hallo Ballyhoo'ers!

Well, I've been lurking for a few weeks so I suppose its time to come out of the closet. So to speak.

We will be joining everyone for this little trip!

I'm from the Philly area and am an ER doc, joined by DW and 2 daughters, 8 and 10 at the time of this cruise. We were on the EB Repo in August but had not really been active on the DISboards so were not able to be truer DIS'ers at the time. My in-laws are coming along too. (But that's OK, there is beer on board, right!)

It will be our 3rd DCL cruise, we are going on a secret cruise this August - driving down to the world and then driving back, but instead of heading north, will be setting our sights east and will pull into Port Canaveral - but we are not telling the kids! They think we will be heading home, but instead will be getting 4 nights on the Wonder. I'm not sure when they will figure it out.

This is kinda a theme going - we are going down for 6 days next Wednesday but have not told them either! We will be picking them up from school to go to a 'special dinner.' Which will be at the airport!

We haven't told many people at all that we are going next week because we went in Oct too (Food and Wine/MNSSHP) and they think we are weird for going so much. They just don't understand the love and addiction that is the mouse! And since we have been going more often we are slowing down and enjoying ourselves more!

Anyway, looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Ken

Welcome to our Ballyhoo !! Ken and welcome to your family, I look forward to getting to know you :grouphug:

Happy New Year to you Harole Ann, glad to hear you had a warm Christmas, hope your foot surgery goes well and I like the sound of a Disney filmfest to tide you over the recovery process :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Thank you to Laura, Jule and Barb for posting all the photos. It really does brighten up my day looking at them ..... it's like a little portal into your lives (No that doesn't mean I'm snooping :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: )

I'm finally looking at everyone's pics.........I LOVE EXCARET AND THE UNDERGROUND RIVER! We've done it a few times and it is so cool (fresh water + lagoon).......which port was that.....Cozumel? Your Cayman day sounded great too!!!

Yep, Cozumel!

We've had Maclean a few times too!:thumbsup2

He was so great we had to rank him above our previous best head server ever, Alessandro from the Med cruise . . .

At the Captain's reception a few trips ago, I could tell he REALLY wanted to go to the Baltic area.......I had a hunch we were going there after hearing him speak!

I know -- when he would ask people during the Castaway Club reception where they wanted to go, he would say, "What about Norvay?" He told me this past summer that the Magic would be heading back to Europe soon -- he must have know the real facts at that point.

NO!!!!!

I am willing to bet that the IASW pictures won't bother me a fraction of how the tarantula photo might bother you -- after all, I have ridden IASW many times and your tarantula encounters most likely stand at zero:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I will only post if Mike needs me to at some point -- I can't abandon him if he feels the need to see (again) a friend with a tarantula crawling down her face. . .

Glad you had a great trip, Laura!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Once again, I'll check the pics when I get home, I suppose some of the them were Dancing with the Stars tour shots? Laura, did you enjoy that? This fall I saw the So You Think You Can Dance tour AND I LOVED IT. I've been to a few American Idol shows and they were good. I wasn't sure how I felt about Dancing With the Stars...........I watch the show. :confused3

I couldn't find a smiley with the jaw dropped to the floor after I read how many pics you took. :upsidedow

I'm definately not a pro at pics or a computer for that fact, but have you thought about getting an external drive to store your pics on. I've been reading about them and wondered why someone would need it, sounds like you might be a candidate.

You should be good about not having to take too many night shots, the earliest that we saw sundown was in the 9:30-9:45pm range.

YOu and everyone else are most welcome for the pics. I enjoy sharing them and it helps to keep the trip fresh in my mind.
Yes, you are snooping but only because we are letting you snoop into our lives. :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:  :dance3: :grouphug: :flower3: :upsidedow

Question for the Philly area Ballyhoo'ers and shoppers:
Is there an easy way to get from City Line Ave. to KofP Mall? I'm thinking if I get tix to the 10! Show for next week that I might want to shoot over to KofP afterwards since I'll be up in that general area. You have to keep in mind I'm not at all familiar with the area and can only get to the ch. 10 studio by going up the rt. 1 way and can only get to KofP by going rt. 202.
I'd appreciate your help, not so sure DH will. :lmao: :rotfl:

Ok, I completely rely on the GPS at this point.......that being said.......if you're on City Line, I'm pretty sure you take 76 to KOP. It's not that far unless you run into traffic........hope that helps! Mapquest it to be sure.
