I like this pic and it brings back memories of a CM letting me 'drive' one of the boats from Fort Wilderness to the Contemporary when I was about 10. You would never see that these days.

I love all the pictures(except 1!) also! You didn't post a warning about the snake though! :scared1: If we have to warn about IASW, we have to warn about snakes too! They really, really skeeve me!

Years ago, Andrew got to help "drive" the EPCOT monorail! He and I were riding up front and the driver needed an extra hand for some reason! It was pretty funny, but cool!

........................... it looks as though I'm safe. Those that are definately going have gone and those that are "at risk" have been informed and the final selection will be done by this Friday. I'm still here and I'm NOT on the "at risk" list.

Thank you again for all your kind thoughts
What a relief! That's good to hear, Izzi. I'm sorry for those that are gone or still waiting to find out.

Sorry -- as I'm sure Mike could attest, I have a thing for exotic animals -- did you ever see the pic of me with the tarantula crawling in my mouth?:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That's cool about Andrew . . . :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

 :cool1: :cheer2: Izzi this is so great for you. :flower3:
Sorry to hear about the others in your area.

I don't think we really need to see that pic at all. :scared1: :scared: :scared1: :scared: :scared1:

Pete and the gang are interviewing him today at noon for the Podcast! Obviously it's about the Birthday thing. I'm guessing it's for todays Podcast, but not sure!
We had found out about where Andrew was on the news through another DIS'r that had gone on the EB Repo cruise with us, who also works for DU. (Winotracy) She emailed Andrew and gave him the link for one of the articles and told him he should contact the Podcast crew. Andrew called and left a message with them and Pete emailed him today asking him if they could interview him this afternoon.
It's still all so exciting!
I found another article yesterday about it!

How very cool for Andrew.

Did he get to keep his oversized 'ticket' as a reminder of his new-found celebrity status?

Hi! Been really busy these last few days (big trial science competition on Sat. and Report card conferences tomorrow night).

Julie - what fab pics!!!!! I really like the snake pic (sorry Barb & Caro). Keep them coming. The ship looked so beautiful and you could almost smell the gingerbread. :goodvibes

Izzi - I can only imagine how relieved you feel (exactly how we felt when Tom got a different job in the bank instead of out the door- whew), but it must be horrible for morale and to see friends go. You are in our thoughts. :grouphug:

Andrew, what a cool b'day you had!!!!!

JoAnn, haven't checked out your trip to NYC blog yet, but sounds like you had a great time! :dance3:

Yes I was able to keep both tickets and since the first hat did not light up, they gave me both hats.

OK, you will have to post pics of your 'tickets'. Why did you get 2 'tickets'?

I know so many questions, but you have to share all the details. :grouphug: :thumbsup2

I do remember seeing that picture! It was a little icky, but didn't give me the heebie jeebies like snakes do! :scared:

I'm guessing 2 tickets because 2 looks better than 1? :confused3 One ticket you'd hold up and down and it would look like you're hiding behind it maybe?
Did we tell you we got mouse ears with our names on them also? We wore those in the parade when we were Grand Marshals! Also a certificate naming the DaCosta Family as Grand Marshals! I really think they should of put us up in the castle for the night! They wouldn't of even had to do all the stuff they did for winners last year, just let us sleep there!

Great pictures, Barb! Kathryn wants nothing to do with the church! I think it has to do with the Spilt Blood in the name! I've told her there really isn't any blood on the floor! She was freaking out in the churches we went into in Cartagena. One of the churches had relics in it and she wouldn't even go close. She doesn't do skeletons and stuff very well.

You can't get close to the memorial site in the church where the 'spilt blood' really is. The church was built along the canal where someone died, can't remember his name right now, and they have it marked as a memorial inside the church but it is roped off and you can't get within 30 or 40 feet of the actual site.

There are no relics in the churches, only the beautiful decor. But if they did have relics in them, then my DD would have been thrilled to see them. :confused3

That is so very cool that they treated you so well. You are the 2nd group that I know to be grand marshalls in the parade down there. :woohoo:
I agree, they should have put you up in the castle for the night. That would have just topped the day off properly. :thumbsup2

Wonderful pictures, Barb!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 St. Petersburg is really going to be beyond belief . . .

Carolyn, you definitely wouldn't have wanted Kathryn to travel with us in Europe summer of 2007 . . . we did the Capuchin crypt in Palermo (decomposed actual bodies hanging all over -- lesson learned: real decomposed people look exactly like the fake ones you see in the Great Movie Ride) AND the catacombs in Paris (hundred of thousands of artfully stacked bones in a large underground labyrinth -- lesson learned: hundreds of real human skulls actually look pretty cool when stacked stylishly!).
